  1. “Send via Xero Network” feature in your invoicing system, which have negatively impacted our workflow and client payment behavior.

    Since the update, this option now appears at the bottom of the invoice, while the sending process begins at the top. This disjointed placement is not intuitive and often leads to it being overlooked. More importantly, the system does not remember this selection, requiring us to manually enable it every time we send an invoice.

  2. Why no "Copy to draft quote" on android?

  3. Repeating Invoices - automatic price increase

    We have several client contracts which include 5% price increases per annum. It would be great if you could create a repeating invoice and specify a percentage to increase the amount by on its next repeat

  4. The way an invoice displays on an invoice it so very different to how it appears on the Receivable Invoice Detail report - it is ridiculously different (and in many cases, unreadable).

    Can Xero please honour the spacing entered in invoices (for a reason) on the Receivable Invoice Detail Report.

    Not really understanding why this wouldn't automatically be the case.

    Thank you for your idea. While we appreciate the suggestion, we've decided not to add this feature to our current plans. For users with a large number of invoices, the report would be too big to be useful. This would really only be a good option for users with a small number of invoices.

    If you'd like to achieve this, you could consider using add-ons.

  6. Can we have an option to print to pdf statements in landscape as well as portrait?
    for example the screen in xero when I look at the statement shows the invoice reference in full but when you download this to PDF the reference gets shortened. This is an issue when the reference is a PO number and then you don't see all the PO number on the PDF version, for some customers they will not accept the PDF statement because of this

  7. I would like to see full Xero usage on the Xero app. In this case, the ability to submit bills for approval instead of the current options of save and approve only.

    Thanks for your feedback. We know that having the option to submit a bill or invoice for approval directly from the Xero Accounting app would significantly improve your workflow. As noted in the comments, users have the option to log into the web version of Xero on their mobile devices allowing them to submit bills and invoices for approval. ⭐ This allows you to perform the approval process on your phone, though it's not as seamless as a native app experience. At this time, we have to prioritize which features we bring to the mobile app. The primary focus of the Xero Accounting app is on quick, simple tasks, like creating basic invoices and submitting expenses. Complex workflows, such as bill and invoice approvals, are better suited for the desktop version due to their complexity and the constraints of the smaller mobile screen.We will continue to review and consider this…

  8. It's good to see you have extended the period before removing classic invoicing because I still need to revert to classic for certain features that are missing from the new system, namely:

    1. The ability to copy invoices to Bills and PO's - this is an important feature that I use regularly
    2. Send invoices via Xero network - again this is a feature that has been useful especially for invoicing between subsidiaries.
    3. Save and continue feature, I don't like the auto save feature because it continues to update the history and notes while I am still adding details to the invoice…

  9. In the "New version of Invoicing" disappeared an amazing function - when you open an invoice after it has been approved, it always displays as tax exclusive, even if you entered it as tax inclusive. In the new version if you approved an invoice tax inclusive it ONLY shows it as tax inclusive. Can you please add the feature of seeing both versions of the same invoice.
    And another feature that disappeared in the new version is to see account number, not just the name of the account. Can you add it back too? And move it back to the…

  10. When emailing a batch of invoices every month I need to click in every email field in turn to scroll along to view second & sometimes third email addresses for that client. Can the email field be widened please. It is so narrow sometimes just one email address can't be seen in full.

  11. When you update the inventory selling price of an item you expect that this is reflected when a repeated invoice is generated. This is not currently the case. The price is ONLY updated when you edit the repeated invoice. Please have an option box on the repeated invoice that allows inventory price updates on generation. Currently waste hours and hours and make mistakes every time an inventory item changes price. Logged support cases about this for years but trying here now. Huge time saver.

    Hi team, we appreciate wanting a connection between an invoice and a document it's been copied to. While this isn't in our roadmap just atm, we're tracking the support in this here and I'll let you know if there are any updates to share on this.

  13. In New Invoicing, I need the ability to view the files in the file library prior to attaching them to an invoice, as I can do in Classic Invoicing. This is because when received into the file library, the files aren't always in the same order as they were scanned. I tried attaching a file using New Invoicing and it wasn't the right file and, because I couldn't return the file to the file library, I had to rescan the document back into the file library.   14. We have monthly invoices and we have multiple lines, sometimes 100+. With the new invoicing, the approve button is at the top of the screen and I have to scroll to the top every time I got to check the total prior to approving. Can you please make the 'approve' ribbon fixed at the top of the screen when you scroll down?

  15. When invoicing, i usually do in large batches. The save and close function should be second, with save and add another first. Or have the option to edit so it comes first for me?

    Hi community, we've recently released shortcuts in new invoicing that cut down the number of mouse clicks and help you perform actions on your invoice with the use of your keyboard. 

    We've added small prompts to highlight these shortcut combinations in product, and if you’d like to view the full list of options you can view them all on Xero Central

    While save options were explored as part of this work, the only keyboard shortcut right now is Save & close (Alt-Shift-C).

    Another option you may want to test for yourself is the '/i' keyboard shortcut. As new invoicing has auto save when you're ready to add another invoice, you could simply type '/i' on your screen. This will open the global search in the blue header with options to go to All invoice, or Create new invoice which you could either click or use Tab to select.

  16. Rows on invoices - On the new invoicing manually adding rows is cumbersome for a mechanic business suggest making more than 1 row on the invoice. I rarely have an invoice which is less than 6 rows.
    Font size- Font is very small and should be increased to at minimum 12pt.

    Hi Lynda, appreciate your feedback here. As you may have seen from updates on this idea we have now added the ability to add multiple rows to an invoice at a time in sets of 5, 10 or 20 like you could in classic invoicing.

    Earlier this year we also enhanced the invoice grid to optimise font size, padding and column widths. I want to be transparent that we don't have further plans for changing the font size in invoicing.

  17. When a new invoice is created, have the reference number auto fill from saved data. Just like you can save what sales account and tax to use for a contact. I have customers that give me a blanket PO for the year and I use it on every invoice I create for them.

  18. The "Review and pay" banner misleads recipients into thinking they can make electronic payments, but we're not using e-invoicing and have it turned off. Another major issue is that it causes significant delays in loading or, in some cases, renders the invoice completely inaccessible. The banner in the new invoicing should be named "Review" rather than "Review and pay" or be editable to suit different needs.

  19. It would be great to apply the Customers general discount (as set on their Contact Card) to only specified product items, not all product items. e.g. I don't want the Customers discount applied to say my Freight or Labour product items, but I do want to apply it to other products items we are selling.

    I would envisage a Tick Box on each Product card that we can tick, or untick, for the Customers Discount to be applied to it (by default it would be ticked to apply the Customers Discount).

    Appreciate the differing makeups of our customers and the improvements you see that would help your use of Xero.

    I want to be open that we don't have planned changes for adding a discount option within Inventory items themselves atm but we will continue to watch the trend in this idea and share if there is any change.

  20. Transaction "History and notes": show in the title how many notes exist. This will avoid having to click the drop down arrow head to check every time. e.g. "History and notes (3 entries)".

    Hi Peter, we get why being able to see the number of entries in the History and notes section at a glance would be helpful, especially when you're quickly checking for activity on an invoice.

    It might seem like a small change, but we can see how it would save time and make things just that bit easier when you're managing lots of transactions.

    This idea is now in the Gaining Support stage, which means we’re keeping an eye on how much interest it gets. Feel free to add your vote or share how this would help you, the more context we have, the better. We’ll keep this thread updated with any news.
