  1. More than once I've accidentally clicked on submit for approval when I only wanted to save and leave the Invoice or bill in Drafts. It would be so handy if there was a 'revert back to drafts' option.

  2. I wanted to share some feedback regarding the invoice templates. Currently, invoices always display individual item prices, which makes it difficult for businesses like ours that offer package or bundled services. It would be very helpful to have an option to show only the overall package price or total cost, without displaying each item individually.

    This feature would improve clarity for our clients and streamline the invoicing process for businesses that work with bundled pricing.

  3. INVOICE REMINDER EMAIL ADDRESS SAVED PER INVOICE - Enable invoice reminder emails to be captured and stored on a per-invoice basis, rather than reverting to the main contact.

    For organisations with global customers, invoice recipients often vary by region, project, or business unit. In our organisation, a single customer can have multiple valid invoice contacts depending on the specific project.

    Currently, reminder emails default back to the primary contact, forcing users to manually re-enter or amend the email address each time. This is inefficient, error-prone, and very labour-intensive at scale.

  4. Why can't we get the "PRODUCTS" on our App Dashboard to enable us to check the product and prices ( will be very handy if shows the available quantity as well) to check whenever we get a call from our customer, who is asking for a product price and available quantity ?

  5. I have multiple customers who are charged in US dollars. When they pay via Stripe the money is immediately converted to Australian dollars.

    When I mark invoices as paid I am presented with an interface that creates more work than it need do.

    I know the amount charged, I know the amount received. What I don't know without calculating is the exchange rate.

    Allow me to enter the amount received OR allow me to calculate the exchange rate in the exchange rate field by allowing calculations, but don't ask me what a 6 digit exchange rate is.

  6. Would be a brilliant idea to add a Posting Date field, independent of the Invoice Date, for all manual journals, bills, and invoices on Xero.

    Currently, Xero’s reliance on the Invoice Date to drive General Ledger impact creates significant issues during month-end closes. Specifically:

    Financial Integrity: When an invoice dated for a prior (closed) month arrives late, users are forced to choose between accurate aging (using the real invoice date) and accurate reporting (using a current date to avoid altering closed books).

    Audit Compliance: A separate posting date provides a transparent audit trail, showing exactly when a transaction was recognized…

  7. We need the ability to create a repeating invoice that does not auto collect the payment via GoCardless DD whilst other repeating invoices for the same client should auto collect the payments via DD.

    For instance the ability to create a repeating invoice and click the button to turn off the Gocardless payment collection, to be carried through when the repeating invoice generates a new invoice.

    Currently GoCardless integration means that all invoices are collected by DD for a client. but we have many situations where some recurring payments should be collected by DD and others should be paid manually…

  10. We would like the ability in Xero to assign different email recipients by document type. Specifically, to have multiple contacts listed on an account for general communications and quotes, while designating a single, specific contact for invoices and invoice reminders only. This would ensure that invoices are sent exclusively to the correct billing contact, while quotes and other correspondence can still be shared with additional relevant contacts.

Similar to bank rules, when coding an invoice for approval/payment create rules from a particular supplier so that multiple lines can be auto coded - ie Our Power supplier invoice is split into 3 account codes by % each time (33% bar cost, 40% general, 27% restaurant). Could this be set up similar to bank rules?

    Hi Barry, just to get a better understanding can you share a bit more information how you'd typically create invoices in Xero? I note you've mentioned importing in the title of your idea - do you use the CSV template for this?

  12. The clients that I provide services to seek as supporting documentation a timesheet that has been signed off by an authorised representative of the client. At the moment I use an excel spreadsheet to do this then manually generate an invoice on the total agreed hours. It woud awesome to have feature where you prepare a timesheet in xero, xero sends a link to the approver to sign the timesheet then xero pulls the hours into a invoice + any agreed expenses (with supporting invoices and signed off timesheet)

  13. Currently, when you raise an invoice in a foreign currency it will take the exchange rate as of that hour. If you later change the due date of the invoice, the exchange rate used to convert will change from the hour you raised the invoice, to the closing exchange rate on that day. This causes an issue for reporting where we have reported a revenue figure for a previous month. The invoice on a due date has been changed and therefore the revenue recognised in a previous month has changed. This makes our reports incorrect and could cause issues if…

  14. When emailing a batch of invoices every month I need to click in every email field in turn to scroll along to view second & sometimes third email addresses for that client. Can the email field be widened please. It is so narrow sometimes just one email address can't be seen in full.
