Search bar navigation
Many of my clients complain that they 'can't find what they are looking for' when using the top search bar facility. I too often struggle to find things unless I am specific and know the exact detail of a posting. A search return of more options would be very beneficial listing all transactions in relation to any word or value typed into the search bar.
7 votesHi team, appreciate the continued engagement in the idea here, apologies I've not returned to update before now.
I want to be upfront that we don't have any plans for changing the logic of search results in the near term. However, I felt it might help to explain how this is working at present to understand results you may be seeing - Global search considers several factors in deciding which results to display, and in what order. These factors include, but aren't limited to:
- Document type – Document types searched most often get priority in the order of the search results. Contacts and invoices appear at the top of the results, as they’re the most popular search.
- Term frequency – The frequency the term you search for appears in the document.

Please enable Hotmail to be delivered to inboxes not their spam accounts when sending invoices
1 voteHi Aaron, spam filters are determined and set by your email provider. We recommend sharing this article with any of your hotmail recipients that are finding that their invoices are being directed to spam folders. They will be able to update their email settings to add @xero.com and @post.xero.com to their email safe senders list to ensure these get through.

Navigation - View all option and dates instead of page numbers
As the title suggests. A "view all" option throughout the product would be great. Or even view a year. Far batter than having to click load more over and over again. Especially when if you click off of the page you then have to laboriously keep clicking load more again and again.
Also to have dates next to (Or instead of) page numbers in the various scrolling pages; cash coding, reconcile, etc.
Having to select a page and another and another to try and guess where the date of the transaction is is ver laborious. Having the date range alongside…5 votesHi all, we appreciate the feedback on how we could improve pagination for customers across different areas of Xero. A couple of updates here that may help with this;
- We have added the ability to search and filter no the Reconcile page. Meaning you can quickly navigate to a Date range of statement lines you'd like to reconcile
- As we update areas of Xero you'll find the selection for how many items to view is now held (examples are in Products and services, Invoices and Bills). So, if you navigate away from a page when you return you should still see that same selection e.g 25, 50, 100 items. The only caveat to this is using incognito mode, or switching browsers

Organisation settings - Dark mode
Ability to change darker backgrounds in Xero.
Purpose: White text against a Dark Background, is easier to see for the eyes.
449 votesHi team, while the status of this idea remains unchanged from our last post we did want to provide an update in the channel here.
As shared previously there's the possibility of exploring third-party apps like Google's High Contrast, which allows you to change the colour on your screen so it's easier to read.
Our Xero Accounting app is a bit of a different kettle of fish and for iOS users there is a dark mode available from the 'Appearance' option that you can navigate to from the 3 dot menu in the top right of the app screen.
Though we fully understand and appreciate needs for wanting dark mode, the ability to develop this requires resource from across all areas of product to implement in the web version. Providing dark mode is not on our current roadmap.

Organisation settings - Ability to wind back/restore to a previous date
Ability to restore Xero org to previous date.
Purpose: To make customers able to get the previous data from the previous date if they made mistakes in their Xero org.
103 votesHi everyone, with the recent changes in Xero Product ideas, we will shift this idea to Not in pipeline to set the expectation here.
While a direct option to restore or unwind an organisation to a previous date in time isn't in our plans, as previously mentioned to confirm - Xero performs daily backups of customer data to protect against data corruption and hosting service failures. However, these backups are not available for users to restore their organisation to a previous state.
To reiterate from my last response, most actions in Xero are reversible (for example Remove & Redo on bank transactions) and our help article on Xero Central explains some of these options that can help with needs expressed in this conversation.
The History & Notes report can be highly useful to review actions recently made so you can 'undo' these.
