Xero Projects - Ability to link Tracking category in Project tasks
It would be great if cost codes or tasks automatically linked to a job once they’re assigned to a customer or project. At the moment, you have to assign the task and then separately select the job from the tracking dropdown, which feels like duplicating the same step. Ideally, once a cost code or task is assigned to a customer or project, it would automatically populate and link in the tracking section. This would streamline the workflow and reduce the chance of mis-entering or incorrectly assigning information.
Hi Ryan thanks for raising this with us. We appreciate the need for a Tracking option within the Projects space. While this is not available currently we will open this up fro the community so they can add their vote. Did you know if you've set up tracking categories, you can assign a category to use for the contact's transactions from the contact default section?
When you create a new transaction, click in the tracking field and the assigned category will populate (you don't need to select it from the list). You can refer to the subheading Default Settings here .Cheers!
