Projects - Keep timer on all pages
Hi - could the Timer appear on other Xero pages, not just the Projects page? So when the timer is started, it stays on the screen when we move between Dashboard, Business, Accounting etc. That would be great. Thanks.

Project - Import manual journal into Project
I am needing to import my payroll expenses from another payroll platform in the form of a manual journal. I need those payroll expenses to be tracked by project. It would be handy to be able to have a column for projects instead of a tracking category.

Projects - Ability to assign expenses to individual tasks
It would be great to have a way of linking expenses on a project to an individual task so your invoices and quotes are much more streamlined and broken down into the tasks (especially when working on larger projects with many tasks and expenses)
Something along the line of:
when entering an estimated expense/expense into the project as well as having all the current tabs, having a another tab to 'assign to task' . When generating a quote/invoice you will then only have the task name and it will have combined the hours and materials listed.23 votes -

I'd like to be able to see how much our projects owe on the 'All Projects' page rather than having to click into each project individually.

Projects - Set date for change of charge rate
Staff members gets pay reviews each year, which means their cost change. But we are unable to get the change to commence from a certain date so reporting for prior year projects won't be accurate. any way we can put a change commencement date so reporting is more accurate?

Project Financials - Include a Supplier option
In the older Project Report function it was possible to select the Supplier Name. This option is now not available in the newer Project Financials report. This is useful as it allows supplier engagement for a specific project to be monitored and avoids the need to perform other more long-winded searches.

Projects | Tabs - Ability to filter by status
To add Sort and Filter into Quotes & Invoices and Task & expenses inside a Project, so we can filter by Price/Status/Draft/Awaiting payment/Paid or sort we we want it

Projects - Improved reports & data fields for estimating
When developing a quote via Projects, we can add in an estimated cost and then enter a margin to give an estimated expense. However we cannot then retrospectively see what the original supplier cost is and therefore profit expected. Neither does it offer a field to enter who the supplier is. The Project financial reports have a header to show 'estimated cost' but it does not populate this field. The only time a cost is shown is if it is entered as an actual expense.
Ideally we would want to see estimated costs, the margin added and the supplier during…

Project Reporting - Detailed Invoice Lines
To show the invoice line detail in project reporting rather than a consolidated invoice line.
You have to allocate each individual line on the invoice to a project but on the project report it consolidates to just one line which doesn't make sense when you put the level of detail at the invoice that it doesn't pull through that detail to the project reporting.

Xero Accounting app - Assign billable expense to Project when creating a transaction
I would really like to be able to allocate my expenses to a project within the app.
If I add a receipt via the app, (which for me is the most efficient way to add expenses) I then have to go online, find the transaction, edit it and resave it, in order to sign it to a project. This is frustratingly inefficient and doubles the time it takes to input a purchase!

Projects - Sort Tasks and Expenses
Please allow for a sort filter on tasks and expenses within a project to be able to sort alphabetically A-Z.
34 votesHi team, while we began work on developing the ability search and sort by tasks in Projects the teams focus had to shift to other priority work and we want to be open that this has been put down for now.

Projects - ability to use tracking categories when using the project reporting. At present when project data is entered into xero there is no report that can be filtered using tracking categories

Projects - Order invoices by date
When converting xero projects / Invoice
6 employees work for the last month gets dumped on to the invoice in alphabetical order and from the latest date they worked
The client needs to see this in cronological order and with each task for the said date
eg
1 July
Dave
Fred
jim2 july
Dave

JimAt the moment this task of ordering said invoices can take about half an hour of ferrying each transaction up and down the page. Before Editing

Project detail report - Include Supplier invoices name and invoice reference
I would like to include the supplier invoices name and invoice reference on the on the project detail report rather than just the Expense name. Is there any way i can do this?

Projects: Include labour costs from Gusto integration
I need to be able to track all my project expenses, including labor costs, for each project. All the labor data is already in Gusto, my payroll provider. Currently I have to create a report in Gusto then manually enter the data in Xero. I also have to manually maintain two lists of the same projects: one list in Xero, and one list in Gusto. I would like the Projects in Xero to synchronize (two way) with the Projects in Gusto. I would also like to be able to pull (or synch) the project labor cost from Gusto to Xero.

Projects | Tasks & expenses - Ability to group estimated expenses
Xero Projects - Group estimated expenses
It would be helpful to be able to set up categories to group together estimated expenses. For projects with lots of different expenses but of a similiar type it would be useful to be able to group these to more quickly see the various costs of a project. For example, to separate out administrative costs from material costs at a glance, so there would be a 'category' into which we could put tasks, estimated expenses and expenses to distinguish from other major costs while still tracking individual costs against the specific estimate.12 votes -
Projects: Organise line items chronologically when generating invoice
In Projects
When invoice is created from Projects ( I have Six Staff) It automatically orders this in name order and has mutiple date entries from the Latest date entered.
I then have to ferry each date up the page to order these chronologically so i have the earliest date and each staff member for this date (before starting to add matarials etc)
To make it easier for my clients to read what is entailed for each day.
We need a button to convert invoice to date order as on big jobs this takes me over half an hour ??17 votes
