Tracking Categories - Increase maximum number of active tracking categories and tracking options
More Tracking Categories Fields: please would you consider increasing the number of Category fields? Currently there's only 2 fields and in a situation where you want to track complex sales cycles and sources, this is not sufficient.
For example - tracking a referring business, a partner account manager, a salesperson and a client account manger.
Having categories allows to perform calculations of revenue generated, its sources etc.

Bank Reconciliation - Add Tracking Category to Transfer
when using tracking categrories it would be useful to be able to add the tracking category to a bank transfer, instead of going through find and match and the adding a transfer.

Invoices - Create invoice to a date. Simple scheduling calender
Basically calendar to add draft invoices to, to use as a job scheduling calendar.
Add draft invoices/job to a date add basic detail to the schedule day and it saves the detail in the description row on invoice with the date.
Each time you add an invoice to a date and you add detail it adds new row with simple details
Once finished you finalize draft invoice as normal.
12 votesHi Michael, returning to your idea here this'd be quite a difference to the way in which Xero works today and we don't have any plans of adding an invoice calendar to be able to schedule tasks that'll add new rows to an existing invoice.
That said, we have another idea for being able to add a date column to invoices that you may like to join and would be a step toward what you're hoping to achieve here.
Alternatively, if not already I'd recommend exploring Projects that enables you to add tasks and expenses on the fly. When ready you can create draft invoices from the tasks and expenses within a project which can be carried through as either a combined line or individual lines on your invoice.

Invoicing - Apply tracking category automatically after creation
When you need to create a new tracking option in the sales invoice screen, you have to search for it again after you have just created it.
This used to work where it would keep the tracking option you just created but now you have to then search for it to select it again. Export Accounting Data - Export data with tracking categories split into columns
Add an option to export accounting data with tracking categories split into separate lines instead of combined in one field.
This would make exports much easier to use in other software, reduce manual data cleanup, and support clients who need to import Xero data into reporting tools or different accounting systems.

Bills - Certificate Insurance | Prevent bill from being submitted after COI has expired
Certificate insurance is a big part of our company's operation. Xero needs to include a mandatory compliance option for companies to implement. When a compliance requirement, e.g., a certificate of insurance, is due to expire in 30 days, the system should prevent bills from being submitted for payment until compliance is met.

Tracking Category - Add description or internal notes field
It would be helpful if you could add a description or comment field to tracking categories. This would allow us to add keep category names concise and then add more information to in the description field so that we can describe things like how it is used, start and end dates for event tracking etc.

The suggestion is to add a description or notes field to Tracking Categories, giving teams a place to record how each category should be used.

Manual Journal Tracking categories should be shown in the entries after posting
The new MANUAL JOURNAL feature does not show the tracking categories after being posted. You need to click edit first before seeing the tracking categories. Can this be improved? I have attached the screenshot of the actual posted journal although the tracking categories are complete before posting. Thanks

Manual Journal Tracking Categories to be searched/typed not scroll down the list
Allow typing/searching for tracking categories instead of just scrolling the dropdown list
Please add the ability to type into the tracking category fields to auto-suggest or filter options, rather than forcing users to scroll through a long dropdown menu.Currently, if a business has numerous tracking categories or options, users have to manually scroll through a massive list every time they enter a line item on an invoice or bill. This is incredibly time-consuming and slows down data entry significantly.

Tracking Categories - Bank Feed Rules
We use location codes to sperate our transactions by site or (cost centre). I tried to create a bank rule to allow the transaction to be dynamically allocated to an individual location, depending on the location appearing in the transaction description.
I have been told that this does not currently exist.

Inventory | Invoice - Add a Minimum Order Quantity to restrict line-item entry amounts

So with Pastel you could insert the minimum quantities into the system and when you book out products when you invoice a client the system would have a automatic pop up informing you that your product qty is below the minimum order qty you have set. Please can you bring in this function. It is very time consuming for us to have to export sheets of data and to review all the products from Xero exported sheet to my excel sheets.
1 voteHi Kristie, thanks for putting this forward. We understand that having a Minimum Order Quantity setting could help businesses manage wholesale rules and reduce the risk of orders being processed below required thresholds.
The suggestion here is to add a native MOQ field or validation that prevents users from creating invoices with quantities below the set limit.
For now, you can add MOQ details to the item description in Products and Services as a reminder when creating invoices.

Tracking - Sub-category under options
Can we please add the ability to set up a sub-category under category options?
For instance, we have already tracking categories by store locations (i.e. Loc 1, Loc 2, Loc 3). However, we need to have a sub-category per Deputy's area (i.e. FOH, BOH) under the store locations.
Category option: Loc 1 (Store Location)
Sub-category option: FOH, BOH (Area)If we could set up a sub-category under tracking options, that would be great. Thank you!

Validity period for Tracking Category
We would like the possibility to assign a validity period to each new "Tracking Category" entry.
This would mean that you don't have to see all options every time the Tracking Category drop down list is selected e.g. when entering an invoice.
It would also help to limit the Tracking Category options available to employees, for example, when they enter their expenses.
3 votesHi Amanda, Tracking was originally designed to be used as a way to track and monitor parts of the business that did not have a lifespan like departments. Appreciate there are many different ways our customers have grown to use tracking, and we'll start to track the interest in this through your idea. But do want to be open that we don't have any plans for this at present.

Hi there, we have been using tracking options for our projects and we have now reached the maximum number and reached the limit for it, but we don't want to delete the previous projects<. Just want to know, if we can increase options limit to numbers. Thank you.

Tracking - "Add another option" at top of page
When you have a large number of Tracking category options and you wish to add another, you have to scroll heavily to get to the bottom of the list each time you wish to add another.
This is not time efficient. The option to add another tracking category option should be at the top of the page for simplicity and time management of the XERO user6 votes -
Tracking - Ability to bulk Archive categories
We use tracking categories of building jobs. It would be great to archive the tracking category once the job it complete. Allowing a P&L by tracking category report to only show active jobs.

Xero Accounting app - Move favourite Tracking Categories to the top of the list
When adding bills in the app, I find myself searching for the same category over and over. On the desktop, a likely or previous category comes up automatically. That would be great in the app, too.
Failing that, it would be good if the list of categories contained frequently used categories first. I doubt anyone scrolls alphabetically, so it seems a useless feature to have.

Analytics - Filter by tracking category
It would be ideal to filter analytics (Business Snapshot) by tracking category and show only income/expenses for each Tracking Category on the dashboard e.g by Department/Region/Product etc.
