  1. Hi Xero,

A Number of our NZ based staff have been given early access to the New Manual Journals function. Everything is using American Dates and typing in using NZ (and the rest of the world format) doesn't work.

This is for NZ staff, in NZ, Using NZ Ledgers - Can we get this fixed please.

Also, can we include comma's when there are large numbers in the journal so they are easy to read.

    Thanks

Hi everyone, returning to the idea here we'd like to provide another update as we have made a change so now date entry in Manual Journals is driven by your Xero organisation region.

So, for example AU and NZ orgs date format will now be DDMMYYYY.

We appreciate the feedback we received from our customers on this. Thank you for sharing.

  2. The new manual journal entry layout does not allow for quick selection of a tracking category using keyboard shortcuts (number or letter). The old layout allowed me to press a key, like "2" & all tracking categories that contained a 2 would come up. The new layout forces the user to manually scroll & find the tracking category. Guys, i have Clients with 40+ Tracking Categories. What is going on? Improving things doesn't just mean make it look shiny & change things. It means actually making things better. Why would you take a key search feature away that saves time?…

Thanks again for raising this with us in Xero Product Ideas, Sal. I'd like to confirm that our team have made an update in the new manual journal experience and it's now possible to type to search and select the tracking option within your tracking fields. 😊

  3. Our client wants to export out of his customised software into xero. The developers have changed the software to fit the xero template but the tracking categories are not importing. I have spoken to a xero specialist and they believe it is not possible to have the tracking category automatically import. This would be a very useful feature for our client.

Sorry it seems there may be some misunderstanding there. It is possible to import a manual journal with Tracking applied.

You'll need to make sure the Tracking Category and Options are spelt exactly as they are in the organisation into the CSV file in the appropriate column.

I've provided an example on this discussion for a customer that was importing invoices, and may help you with this.

  4. I use repeating journal entries a lot and hence all the fields except debit and credits are filled out. Might be good to be able to use the keyboard arrows to quickly go from one row to the next in a column field and even be able to go from credit cell to debit cell by just clicking on the left arrow button.

Hi Brett, on doing a little more testing you can use the Enter key and the up and down arrows to move to the previous or next row of the same cell 😊

Just make sure you press Enter first and then you'll be able to move, up, down, left or right using the arrow keys.
