Email alerts for failed TIN Matches.

Donation Receipts - Ability to add signatures on charitable donation receipts
New Zealand Inland Revenue Department requires reciepts to be signed by an authorised person. . This does not appear to be possible possible with Xero at present by inserting an electronic or jpeg signature. With a significant number of receipts our charity issues this can only be done manually and a scanned copy sent.

UK Tax - Overseas company accounts and corporation tax return
We deal with Overseas companies and subsidiaries, Xero does not have recognise Overseas company number usually starts with FC123456, Xero does no recognise this and create corporation tax return. This is another deficiency of Xero which makes me look at other software.

Personal Tax (UK) | Update help box on shareholding %
UK Self-Assessment Tax Return - reporting dividend information.
On the 2025/26 self-assessment tax return in the section for employment, if the company is a close company further details need to be added such as whether any dividends were paid during the year and the shareholder's % ownership in the company.
I note that the help box relating to percentage shareholding of close company refers to "if no dividends were received, enter 0". This doesn't reflect what this section refers to i.e., percentage shareholding. So the help box needs updating.
1 voteHi Simon 😊 Thanks so much for taking the time to share this and for explaining the issue so clearly. We can see why this is confusing — the help text on the percentage shareholding field refers to dividends, when that field is actually asking for shareholding information.
We appreciate clear guidance is especially important in this area, so we’re moving this idea to Gaining Support so we can keep tracking interest and feedback while this is reviewed further. Thanks again for raising it and helping us improve the experience.

Company Accounts (UK) | Add option to show Company Authentication Code
We have been using the New Financial Accounts FRS102 IA template in Xero Business. Here are our feedback notes. In case anyone else is having the same issues.
When filing you can not recheck the CAC code as it's got to vision allowance.1 vote🌟 Thanks for sharing this idea — we can see how valuable it would be to have the option to show and recheck the Company Authentication Code during filing. Being able to confirm the code before submission would help reduce errors and would also make the experience more accessible for customers who need to verify what they’ve entered.
We’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can continue to capture interest and better understand how many customers would benefit from this improvement. We’ll continue to monitor the support it receives, and any updates on this idea will be shared here.

UK VAT - BCC option for CIS subcontractor emails
We send CIS statements to our SubContractors each month and the tool that does it is very good.
However we get no visibility of what the Subcontractor sees. Please could you add an option to bcc all the emails to a nominated address.5 votesThanks for sharing your feedback on CIS monthly statement emails. We appreciate you taking the time to explain how important visibility and flexible email distribution are for your workflows.

Dashboard - VAT Notifications to show when return has been filed
Please can Xero improve the dashboard notifications regarding VAT returns so that it shows that the VAT return has been submitted. This would avoid me having heart failure when I log in and see the information below! Our VAT is collected by direct debit, so I know if it is submitted, its HMRC direct debit taking its time, and not my mistake!
2 votesThanks for sharing your feedback on VAT return notifications. We appreciate you explaining how clearer status indicators on the dashboard could help, especially when returns have been filed but payment collection is still pending.

NZ Tax - Separate 7th May Provisional Tax from 7th April Terminal Tax on payment summaries and letters
The Tax summary table in the tax return needs to show the 7th May provisional still owing as seperate to the remainder being due for terminal 7th April. Currently itt is grouped all in terminal meaning it is incorrect as doesnt show clients they need to pay an amount a year earlier
1 voteHi Gary, thanks for sharing this suggestion. We understand you’re looking for payment summaries and letters to show 7 May Provisional Tax and 7 April Terminal Tax as separate items, rather than combining them.
Having these tax obligations separated could make it easier to review amounts and communicate payment details to clients during busy compliance periods.
I’ve updated this idea to Gaining Support so we can continue gathering feedback and examples from the community.

AU Tax - Depreciation worksheets
You can't create a stand-alone worksheet for depreciable assets then feed the figures to a chosen label. Depreciation has to be created within the label e.g. rental worksheet/D5/D1. For assets created within a rental schedule you can print nice depreciation worksheets. For assets created at other labels, you sometimes can't print a nice worksheet and the information displayed at the label is limited. The assets worksheets attached to a rental property in a Trust return doesn't show the cost or acquisition date of each asset.

AU Tax - Allow the Supplementary Income section to be printed directly after the main Income section in the ITR
To confirm, there isn’t currently a way to move the Supplementary income section so that it appears straight after the main Income section in the printed ITR.
When using the new layout, Xero Tax does let you customise print settings, but this only lets you choose which main sections to print and reorder the sections that are available in the print pack, but it doesn’t let you change the internal order of the Individual return such as the Supplementary income section. This makes it difficult if you quickly want to look in the ITR and review all of the income…
1 voteHi Carly, thanks for raising this idea.
We can see how placing the Supplementary Income section directly after the main Income section could create a more consistent reading flow and reduce the need to move back and forth between pages during reviews.
I’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking interest and share the feedback with our product teams.

GST default on a copied invoice defaulting to GST Inclusive / Incorrectly
A slight bug found - I just had a supplier ask why we had charged less for the last 2 months. I checked and it looks like Xero defaulted to "GST Inclusive" invoices when copying an invoice that is GST-Exclusive, even when:
1) the previous Invoice is set to "GST Exclusive"
2) the Financial settings, tax defaults, For sales is set to for"Based on last sale"
3) Note - No Contact defaults for GST set.Somehow, my $500 + GST invoices = $575 has been reduced to $500 including GST.
Previously Xero would copy over the invoice exactly, but now…
5 votesHi everyone, thanks for sharing your feedback on this idea. We can see why this would be useful. We have reviewed this idea and can see that currently when you copy an invoice, the financial settings of the organisation take precedence over the settings from the original invoice. This idea is now in Gaining support status, which means it's open for community votes and comments while we monitor interest from users.

Reporting | Profit & Loss - Ability to change headings in the report according to industry specific terminology
The statutory profit and loss account includes the wording "cost of raw materials and consumables" in the Cost of Sales section. This makes no sense for my clients in the service industry. Can we not have a tag named "Cost of Sales" or "Purchases" which is more generic and applies better to direct expenses attributable to sales in the service industry?

UK Tax - Importing Rental Income to Xero Tax
Following the introduction to MTD for ITSA, we will be reporting a number of clients rental income to HMRC using Xero, which we previously did not. As a result of MTD for ITSA we will be preparing more Tax Returns using Xero Tax.
It is currently not possible to import rental income & expenses, from a client's Xero account directly to Xero Tax (where as you can for sole trade businesses). Unfortunately these figures need to be typed in manually.
Would it be possible to add this feature into Xero Tax?
2 votesThanks for sharing your idea of importing rental income into the personal tax return.

It is worth noting that our MTD for IT functionality will include the option to include rental income/expenses and will utilise tracking categories to do this.

AU Tax - Dropdown (or expandable lists) of Tax Return items within each section
Dropdown list of Tax Return items.
Hi Xero Team,
I’d like to suggest a possible enhancement to the Tax Returns section for easier navigation.
Would it be possible to add dropdowns (or expandable lists) that show all tax return items within each section, similar to the attached example? This would make it much easier to jump directly to specific items instead of scrolling through the full return.
For example, having a dropdown list for all income categories, deductions, offsets, and other tax return items would help users quickly locate the exact section they need, especially when reviewing or updating multiple…
1 voteHi Sailah, thanks for sharing your feedback here. We can see how long lists in tax returns can make navigation harder, especially as returns become more detailed.
A collapsible or expandable layout could make it easier to focus on the section you’re working on. We’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking interest and share the feedback with our product teams.

Xero Tax (UK) | Increase the 1MB file size limit and allow multiple supporting documents
The supporting document for the Corporation Tax return is limited to one document of less than 1MB, which is sometimes not large enough for R&D claim supporting documents, even after compression.

We’ve moved this to Gaining Support while we continue tracking the interest and feedback shared here.

MTD for ITSA - Facility to export a PDF of quarterly returns
It's currently not possible to export the Income Tax Self Assessment figures for the MTD for Income Tax quarterly submissions as a PDF to include them in a documents pack for client's approval via e-signature in Xero.
This would be helpful from April 2026, so accountants can gain client's approval prior to submission with HMRC.

MTD For Income Tax (UK) - Accounts selection
When we eventually have to submit quarterly IT reports to HMRC, it will be very very helpful to be able to select which income accounts, and which expense accounts are include in the submission. Similar to being able to produce a custom profit and loss report. The reason being that some income or expense categories might be something that only gets included in the year end tax return calculations. My particular scenario as a sole trader is operating only one bank account, into which goes all my income, but out of which comes not only 100% business expenses, but also…
