Reconciliation - Overpayment as an option on the Create tab
ON THE BANK REC IT SHOULD BE SET TO DEFAULT AS OVERPAYMENT TO SAVE TIME
Hi team, we appreciate how having a direct option to enter an Overpayment from the Create tab in the Reconcile screen would save time.
Just to confirm as Gerard has noted, right now if you click 'Add details' in the bottom right of the Create box this will expand the modal so you can use the 'Received as'/'Spent as' drop down to select Overpayment and enter the relevant details of the transaction.
Being open, we don't have plans for adding this option directly to the page just at this time, but are continuing to get a pulse of the interest through this idea. I'll share of there are any updates.

Could be a dropdown here or a separate box next to Match/Create/Transfer/Discuss that says Overpayment.
The separate tab would be my vote which then automatically sets the amount against accounts receivable and we just have to pop in the name of the customer. Would make reconciliations a lot faster -

Hi Kelly, the problem is the opening of the modal and then switching the drop down to overpayment which is very clunky. When you're doing this for 100s to 1000s of transactions, that's quite painful and a lot of wasted clicks. There needs to be a better way to reconcile overpayments / deposits that doesn't require us to click 5 times for each transaction. Plus, as I noted, the UI is intermittently buggy and moves the location of the drop down in the modal so you can't even rely on muscle memory. Having a tab right next to create or the drop down there or a keyboard shortcut would all be better options...

At the moment, to create an overpayment from the reconciliation screen, I have to:
1. Click Create
2. Enter the contact
3. Add Details
4. Change received as to Overpayment (and the UI will sometimes show me this under the arrow, sometimes half a screen away!)
5. Insert the description and click save.Instead, why can't the received as item show up under Create so we can simply change it there? it would reduce clicks significantly and this is how we are tracking our deposits at the moment so I have 100s of transactions that I need to do this for weekly.
Thanks

WHENYOU HAVE HUNDREDS OF TRANSACTIONS AND YOU HAVE TO KEEP DROPPING DOWN TO SELECT IT TAKES SO MUCH MORE TIME THAN IT NEEDS TO
