Bank Feed - Charities Aid Foundation (CAF)
For Xero to expand their bank feed connections to develop a feed that supports Charities Aid Foundation (CAF)
Hi team, we appreciate the growing interest this idea's gaining and want you to know our product teams are very attuned to our customers desire for a bank feed for CAF bank.
We're continuing to work closely with our third party integrators to make more bank feeds available via open banking. A feed for CAF is high on our agenda, however we're reliant on third party integrators to support this integration in order for us to deliver this for you all.
I want to assure you we're pushing for it's integration, but we cannot commit or confirm a timeline for this work to be undertaken.
As soon as there's progress to share we'll happily provide further updates for you all.

As a small charity, having a bankfeed would save us a significant amount of time currently spend on manually importing statements.

We are a small charity and cannot afford the extra time (and risk) in not having this feed in place.

Essential for the efficient running of our accounts, very frustrating that it is not in place yet.

Please make this integration. It will help our charity.

We have our two bank accounts with CAF and it would be a huge improvement to Xero if there was integration with CAF.

CAF appears to be the only bank we can use as a CIO as one of our trustees lives in Ireland. The absence of the integration is a huge draw back. Could Xero show the same concern for its customers as CAF Bank does.

I have now read dozens, if not hundreds, of posts over an extended period, all consistently requesting that Xero implements a bank feed for CAF.
Despite the volume, consistency, and longevity of these requests, the only response from Xero remains a generic acknowledgement that the issue is “on their radar,” with no meaningful progress updates or indication of delivery.
What is particularly concerning is the complete absence of any timeline, whether indicative or otherwise. This lack of transparency inevitably raises questions as to whether there are underlying commercial considerations influencing the decision not to prioritise or commit to this integration.
From a user perspective, this ongoing situation is deeply frustrating. It creates inefficiencies, adds unnecessary administrative burden, and undermines confidence in Xero’s responsiveness to clearly evidenced customer demand. More importantly, it gives the impression that repeated, well-articulated requests from the user community are being acknowledged but not genuinely acted upon.
At this stage, a more candid and accountable response from Xero is needed, whether that is a clear commitment, a realistic timeline, or an honest explanation as to why this feed is not being progressed. Continued deflection without substance risks eroding trust and reflects poorly on Xero’s engagement with its user base.
This is not a technically complex or unprecedented issue, it does not require a breakthrough or “rocket science” solution. What it requires is ownership within Xero: someone with sufficient authority to take control of the situation, align the relevant teams, and drive it forward to a resolution.
From the outside, the continued lack of progress suggests not a technical barrier, but a failure of prioritisation and coordination. With the level of demand clearly evidenced across this forum, it should be entirely feasible for Xero to bring the right stakeholders together and progress this integration in a structured and timely way.
At present, it feels less like a difficult problem to solve and more like one that simply hasn’t been given the attention or internal momentum it warrants.

This integration will make such a difference for our volunteer treasurer who would appreciate the integration as it will save them valuable time.

This integration would be brilliant and save valuable time and unnecessary processes to manually iimport bank transactions

This would be a godsend for us - having to manually import three times a week to keep up with transactions is frankly a PITA - So much easier with PayPal which is integrated!

It would make the life of our very small charity so much easier if we didn't have to manually upload transations into Xero. We have a direct feed from revolut, volopa, shopify, zettle and paypal. Why not CAF? And while your at it Unity!

I spend a lot of time creating files to upload to Xero, and have to remember to do this at least every 2 weeks. A bank feed as we have with other banks would really help and streamline the process

This will save a lot of time, not having to export a CSV file from CAF then amending it to be suitable for XERO. In addition making sure I haven’t made a mistake. Versus having a direct feed from PayPal.

I have access to the NatWest and Cooperative Banks through Xero which is invaluable. I want to encourage another client to move to Xero but we use CAF so the move isn't intuitive. Including CAF would swing it for us.

I am not sure why Xero have not responded to this thread directly, but this the response I had from Xero support, which I think explains why there are no bank feeds and unfortunately why it is likely that there will never be a bank feed with CAF.
Regarding CAF Bank, Xero doesn't currently have a bank feed available for them. In the UK, Xero supports direct API connections provided via Open Banking. CAF Bank offers connection through Modified Customer Interface (MCI), which is less secure and convenient than a direct API connection. The Financial Conduct Authority has proposed the mandatory use of API connections for banks and is planning to phase out MCI in the future. Xero doesn't have any plans to connect to banks that use MCI, as our preference is to use a direct API connection as it provides additional security.

This is a real priority to save us time. Having to upload the information really slows us down and uses up valuable Trustee time. Please push the "third party integrators" (who are they), to move this forward quickly.

A real priority for our church accounts. Integrated online banking would make life much easier for all concerned. The church has recently taken on a food pantry for the benefit of the local community. This means additional work undertaken by volunteer staff. Online banking would make life so much easier.
