  1. Your new "Make Payment" button and the Action column can not be removed/disabled in the Bills view. It is repetitive, distracting, and disruptive to my normal workflow.

I would appreciate it if Xero did not diminish my user experience as a paying customer in order to promote a new service it is offering.

Appreciate your feedback on this here, everyone. This has been shared with our product team.

They did thoroughly consider how and where this prompt was shown in the product, and I want to be open that we don't have any plans for enabling the ability to hide the Make Payments option from this screen.

  2. Xero decided to limit the number of billable expenses one can view at a time when invoicing to 10, as was explained to me, because some organizations have a large number of billable expenses and it taxes the system and slows down the process of invoicing if more than 10 show. The exact opposite effect happens, however. Now, one has to page through dozens of windows to find the billable expense, instead of simply scrolling through 100+ bills. Even worse, there is no way to sort the bills, so the target of the invoice may be on page 36 taking…

Hey Scott, really appreciate your feedback on our update here. We want to be transparent that the change to billable expenses in invoicing was something that we implemented due to lots of feedback that we received, and we don't have intentions on returning to the previous behaviour. On review, we first marked this as feedback based on it being a removal of a new feature, however we will shift this to Not in Pipeline to set expectation.

This means other members will still be able to vote on this idea, and we can track if this is still an idea that trends.

  3. A big request to please increase bank account, Invoice and Bill transaction limits per month (i.e. from 2/4k to 10k+ at least).

  4. We always have a significant number of bills "Awaiting Approval". As such our P&L is never accurate and for our large company it is out significantly.

It is the exception and rare that a bill will not be approved (ie didnt receive stock). Therefore the P&L would finally be closest and most accurate if it included "Awaiting Approval"

This should be included. If not then a button should be available so that the company can make this decision themselves and include the "Awaiting Payment" bills.

Hi everyone, we appreciate why some customers would like to have bills that are still in a draft or awaiting approval status included in reporting results.

These transaction types do not impact the general ledger until they are approved within your organisation, which is why they cannot be included in the Profit & Loss report.

Understand that is not within the report that you're asking here, however the Payable Invoice reports (Summary and Detail) can be run to include these transaction types, so you could get a view of the amounts related to these type of transactions.

We want to be upfront that this isn't something we have intentions of developing financial reports to accommodate for in Xero.

  5. When editing a bill, say the item column it removes the data that is on that line. Can this be avoided?

Hi Robert, coming back across your idea here I want to be open that we don't have any plans for this. The Item field is driven by your inventory products and services, which is why it auto description and other fields with the contents saved for that item. If you have pre-filled the description column and need to change the item we'd recommend copying this so once you update the items you can paste your text back in the description column.

  6. Presently, to create a draft bill in Xero from a bill that has been received in the csv format, the csv bill has to be imported manually. It would be easier to be able to email the csv bill to the unique bills email address and have a draft bill created in Xero.

Hi team, as noted in my last update we have introduced a new feature to upload bills to your organisation - However to confirm this only supports JPG, PNG, or PDF file types.

Currently email to bills supports quite a few different file types however as noted here CSV is not one of them. We want to be upfront that at this point we don't have any plans for extending this feature to support CSV formatted files.

  7. As we have to load bills into Xero to reconcile, (and I use hubDoc to do this now) it would be great if we had the option to send certain bills to Workflow Max to assign them to a job and include them on a client invoice. This would top off this suite of programs for me!

Xero is retiring its WorkflowMax product on 26 June 2024 and has entered into an agreement with tech-led business advisory firm, BlueRock, who are acquiring the brand. As part of this, they have commenced plans to offer a new product. BlueRock’s intent is that their new WorkflowMax product, WorkflowMax by BlueRock will be available to customers in early 2024. You can read more on the blog and on the WorkflowMax website.

Hi everyone, we understand why people would want to be able to apply a credit note within a locked period however we wanted to provide more context on the purpose of lock dates and reasons for the way they work at present.

Basically put lock dates prevent users making changes to the accounting records prior to the lock date. Their role is to prevent unintended changes which would alter reporting outcomes be they financial reports, VAT/GST/Sales Tax reports etc. Lock dates ensure financial data is accurate and trustworthy.

When a credit note is allocated to an invoice the allocation date is dated the later of the two documents, the first day where both exist. Credit note allocations require creating journals on both a cash and accrual basis, which is why if both the invoice and the credit note are in a locked period, the allocation can’t be done. Those journals…
