PO: Delivery address one line for Suburb, State, postcode
I would like to see the suburb, state and postcode combined on a single line (in standard Australian address format). With the suburb, state and postcode on single lines, the address can end up being 8 lines or more.
1 voteThanks for feeding back to us here, Nerida.
We want to be upfront that we don't have any plans of changing the formatting of the address to a single line.
However, if this is the way you'd prefer to format you can manually add all the address into one line of the Address section.

Bills - Disable Make Payment Button
Your new "Make Payment" button and the Action column can not be removed/disabled in the Bills view. It is repetitive, distracting, and disruptive to my normal workflow.
I would appreciate it if Xero did not diminish my user experience as a paying customer in order to promote a new service it is offering.
16 votesAppreciate your feedback on this here, everyone. This has been shared with our product team.
They did thoroughly consider how and where this prompt was shown in the product, and I want to be open that we don't have any plans for enabling the ability to hide the Make Payments option from this screen.

Increase bank account, Invoice and Bill transaction limits
A big request to please increase bank account, Invoice and Bill transaction limits per month (i.e. from 2/4k to 10k+ at least).
10 votesHi Kyle, it's necessary to have some limits in place to prevent performance issues, and I want to be open that we don't have any plans to increase these in the near term.
I'd recommend raising a case to connect with our Xero Support team where our specialists can get more detail from you to understand how you use Xero and possibly make suggestions so you can still achieve what you need using Xero.

Invoicing - Increase the number of billable expenses shown on the selection screen
Xero decided to limit the number of billable expenses one can view at a time when invoicing to 10, as was explained to me, because some organizations have a large number of billable expenses and it taxes the system and slows down the process of invoicing if more than 10 show. The exact opposite effect happens, however. Now, one has to page through dozens of windows to find the billable expense, instead of simply scrolling through 100+ bills. Even worse, there is no way to sort the bills, so the target of the invoice may be on page 36 taking…
2 votesHey Scott, really appreciate your feedback on our update here. We want to be transparent that the change to billable expenses in invoicing was something that we implemented due to lots of feedback that we received, and we don't have intentions on returning to the previous behaviour. On review, we first marked this as feedback based on it being a removal of a new feature, however we will shift this to Not in Pipeline to set expectation.
This means other members will still be able to vote on this idea, and we can track if this is still an idea that trends.

Bills - Change Bill.com Settings within Xero
I've been using your Bill.com integration for the last couple of weeks and I already had to reach out to Xero support twice to make a simple change in Bill.com settings. This requires the user (me) to open a case in Xero which subsequently has Xero support open a case in Bill.com (and then Xero support going back and forth between Bill.com and the user).
There should be either:
a settings page within Xero for all the Bill.com settings and variables or,
Ability to have credentials on Bill.com to update the Bill.com settings.
Thanks
3 votesHi everyone, we appreciate interest of this idea.
As you'll have received earlier communication of - We have recently changed our online bill payments provider for US organisations from BILL to Melio.
To continue using online bill payments in Xero, you need to set up the new Melio experience.
This change gives you more flexibility to pay bills your way and help you better manage cash flow.
It also sets us up to deliver new capabilities faster, such as approval workflows, card payments and international transfers.
Though we'll move this idea to Not in pipeline being specific to Bill.com you'll find with Melio you have more control to take direct actions within Xero for a more seamless experience making payments.

Invoices/Bills - Separate field for posting date and invoice date
Ability to have separate fields for posting date and invoice date.
Purpose: To make users can ensure the expense is recorded in the appropriate month (posting date), and the due date is properly calculated (invoice date).
263 votesHi community, we understand there are differing needs in this idea for why you’d like a separate posting date alongside the invoice or bill date. Whether it’s for reporting, compliance, or just a more accurate view of when things happened.
While this has been carefully considered, we want to be transparent with everyone here, that this is not something we have plans for developing in the near term.
We know given the interest in this that this is not the update you’re hoping for, and please know that we’ll continue to track votes this idea receives for future consideration. We’ll keep you posted if things change down the line.

Profit & Loss - Include bills Awaiting Approval
We always have a significant number of bills "Awaiting Approval". As such our P&L is never accurate and for our large company it is out significantly.
It is the exception and rare that a bill will not be approved (ie didnt receive stock). Therefore the P&L would finally be closest and most accurate if it included "Awaiting Approval"
This should be included. If not then a button should be available so that the company can make this decision themselves and include the "Awaiting Payment" bills.
46 votesHi everyone, we appreciate why some customers would like to have bills that are still in a draft or awaiting approval status included in reporting results.
These transaction types do not impact the general ledger until they are approved within your organisation, which is why they cannot be included in the Profit & Loss report.
Understand that is not within the report that you're asking here, however the Payable Invoice reports (Summary and Detail) can be run to include these transaction types, so you could get a view of the amounts related to these type of transactions.
We want to be upfront that this isn't something we have intentions of developing financial reports to accommodate for in Xero.

Bills List - Add a Description column
How do I adda column showing the "Description" to the columns of Bills...??
6 votesHi all, while we don't have any plans for adding description as a column to the bills list you may find it a bit easier to view the bill details now using the quick view option.
From the list view you'll see an eye icon that allows you view all details of the bill without having to navigate away from the list screen.

Email to Bills - Ability to email CSV files as well as PDF
Presently, to create a draft bill in Xero from a bill that has been received in the csv format, the csv bill has to be imported manually. It would be easier to be able to email the csv bill to the unique bills email address and have a draft bill created in Xero.
4 votesHi team, as noted in my last update we have introduced a new feature to upload bills to your organisation - However to confirm this only supports JPG, PNG, or PDF file types.
Currently email to bills supports quite a few different file types however as noted here CSV is not one of them. We want to be upfront that at this point we don't have any plans for extending this feature to support CSV formatted files.

Tracked Inventory is the feature within Xero that will enable this capability and while we understand this may not work for all customers flows we want to be transparent with you through the idea here.

Lock Dates - Allocate Credit Notes to Invoices/Bills before a Lock Date
Ability to apply credit to an invoice that is issued within a lock period
Purpose: Apply credits from within a locked period to sales invoices
74 votesHi everyone, we understand why people would want to be able to apply a credit note within a locked period however we wanted to provide more context on the purpose of lock dates and reasons for the way they work at present.
Basically put lock dates prevent users making changes to the accounting records prior to the lock date. Their role is to prevent unintended changes which would alter reporting outcomes be they financial reports, VAT/GST/Sales Tax reports etc. Lock dates ensure financial data is accurate and trustworthy.
When a credit note is allocated to an invoice the allocation date is dated the later of the two documents, the first day where both exist. Credit note allocations require creating journals on both a cash and accrual basis, which is why if both the invoice and the credit note are in a locked period, the allocation can’t be done. Those journals…

Checks - Restore voided checks
Ability to restore voided checks in Xero.
Purpose: To easily get the checks back when a user accidentally void it.
11 votesHi team, though we appreciate there may be scenarios in which you'd want to restore a voided check this isn't something we have any plans for developing.

Purchase Orders - Import / Export function
Simply formalising the blog comments from others to have Import functionality added to PO's and Xero's "if there is sufficient demand".
+1 here
24 votesWe appreciate the passion and feedback we've received from customers about the ability to import and export purchase orders.
We want to be open, that we do not have a direct plan to build export and import functionality in Purchase Order any time soon.
Our Product team in this space are currently focused on modernising our underlying technology so we can build new features, faster in the future.
To give a clear message for anyone coming across the idea, we'll close this idea.

Product & services - Create custom (tiered) price lists for contacts
Ability to create multiple price lists for the same inventory items, and be able to set a default for each contact.
To enable tiered pricing for different groups of customers. Would save time and require less manual checking
116 votesHi all, thank you for contributing to idea here. While our Inventory team have reviewed the idea for custom / tiered price lists in Xero, we want to be open that we do not have development planned for enabling more extensive Inventory management like this.
There are many Inventory apps that connect with Xero and offer these types of services and more - You can explore these on Xero App store. To be transparent we will update the status to not planned - If there is any change to this we will share with you here.

Reporting - Calculate COGS for Untracked Inventory items: Opening Stock + Purchases - Closing Stock
To make the profit and loss report calculation is based on Cost of Goods Sold = Opening Stock + Purchases - Closing Stock.
Purpose: To get the figures easily in P&L report by deducting the closing stock from purchases.
18 votesHi community, in the way untracked inventory in Xero works it isn't possible to automatically calculate cost of goods sold for a period in your reports.
There is a way to go about this yourself through entering Manual Journals to account for the Cost of Goods sold, and adjusting the value of inventory on your Balance Sheet.
You'll want to enter your Conversion Balances into an account that has a Current Asset type rather than an inventory type (Inventory type is reserved for use with tracked inventory in Xero and can't be coded to on manual journals).
To avoid potential taxation and reporting issues - We highly recommend contacting your accountant to check whether this is suitable for your business, or if you need additional clarification on what journals to enter.
