   Let’s Support a More Affordable Xero Subscription Plan for SMEs!

   Hi fellow Xero users,

   With Xero subscription fees increasing year after year, the cost is becoming a growing burden for small businesses. For businesses like ours that manage several company accounts using Xero, the total subscription cost adds up significantly.

   For each of our company accounts, we process approximately 250 bills and 40 sales invoices per month. We mainly need essential accounting functions, including managing bills and invoices, maintaining the Chart of Accounts, recording bank transactions and transfers, preparing GST F5 returns, managing fixed assets and depreciation, recording manual journals, generating financial reports, using tracking categories, and meeting IRAS InvoiceNow requirements.

   However, not all users utilise the advanced features included in the Standard Plan, such as Faster Payments and Smarter Business features, automatic bank feeds and filing Form C-S. Many SMEs simply do not need these additional features and should not have to pay for a comprehensive plan when their accounting requirements are more basic.

   We strongly encourage Xero to introduce a more affordable subscription plan focused on essential accounting functions, with a reasonable monthly fee that reflects the features provided. We also hope Xero will consider keeping the subscription price stable year after year for this basic plan, rather than continually increasing fees, so SMEs can manage their operating costs more confidently.

   Different businesses have different accounting needs. A flexible, cost-effective plan would allow SMEs to pay for the functions they actually use without bearing the cost of advanced features they rarely or never need.

2. Subscription Plans & Billing

   There needs to be a option for 15 employees. Ultimate 10 sometimes isnt enough and Ultimate 20 is too many. In my case I have 11 employees and the cost from $143 to $180 seems excessive for one more employee.

3. Add ZTL002 cash account to Payment method drop downs

   Add the ZTL002 cash account, generated during Zettle integration, to the Payment method drop-downs.
   As that is the account all cash deposits are registered under, it makes sense to ease using it during automated transaction generation from file downloads.
   Having to manually create a new transaction for all cash payments is very tedious, but allows use of the ZTL cash account. So why not allow it during the automated process?

   Thanks for raising your suggestion, Ingrid. Because the request relates to how a third-party integration creates and makes its accounts available within Xero, we’ve moved this post to Feedback and closed it for voting.

   We recommend raising the request with Zettle directly or through Xero Developer Ideas, where integration-related functionality can be considered.

4. Subscription Option - Multi-currency as an add on

   Add the option for multi currency to other subscription types.

   Currently the only way to use multi-currency is to upgrade to the Xero Established/Premium or Ultimate pricing plan. For a sole trader that doesn't need all the extra features of those plans, that is a minimum price increase of over double the starter plan.
