Appreciate your input here, everyone. This is a feature that our team have looked into and would like to develop for AU Payroll, however there are a few other key pieces of work lined up before they get a chance to explore this further.
Rest assured that our eyes are on the ground monitoring your feedback and votes here, so please keep adding them in this thread. If there’s any movement, we’ll make sure to come back and let you all know.Kyleanne Hardwick supported this idea · -

When you click on 'Invoice' within a Project, and select 'Tasks & Expenses', you have two choices, to display the hourly rate time as 'Tasks' or 'Time Entries'. If you select 'Time Entries', you can select your line item details to show 'Project, Task, Date, Staff Member, Description'. You can tick or untick any of these line items to show, but you can certainly capture all of that detail on an invoice. I think that might be what you are looking for? Hope that helps.

Hi team, just having a little play in Projects - while it won't work for Deposit or Project Amount creation, if you're creating an invoice from a Project for Tasks & Expenses you'll be able to hold down 'ctrl' while clicking on this option and should find this opens the Tasks and expenses screen in a separate browser tab.
Totally get this doesn't resolve the idea here, but wanted to share for those it helps 🙂

Hi Kevin, we'll get a sense of your idea for multiple project stages here, welcome to add another for start & end dates that we can track too. 🙂

Hi everyone, we appreciate wanting the ability to assign files to the project itself. While this isn't something we have planned right now we'll keep tracking the interest through the idea here.
To highlight, though not currently available on the Project directly, it's possible to attach files to the individual transactions within a project e.g a Bill, Invoice, Spend money or Expense. i
Along with this, you may also find it useful to create folders within your Files library where you can collect all files related to a specific project for ease of reference.
Understand this isn't the ideal solution, but may help some for now 🙂

An error occurred while saving the comment Kyleanne Hardwick commentedThanks for your comment Annett, we are also a joinery business just starting to use Projects and I can see that if I have to add new joinery items it will be very difficult for our staff to add their time. I really really hope Xero puts some resources into improving Projects as it is great, but will be awesome with this improvement.
Kyleanne Hardwick supported this idea ·An error occurred while saving the comment Kyleanne Hardwick commentedI am in the process of introducing Xero Projects to our team and I just discovered that newly added tasks don't slot in, in alphabetical order with the rest! And that I can't manually reorder the tasks! This is a bit of a disaster. Please fix asap! I really want Xero Projects to work well in our team.
@david crowley, ohhhh I got you now, no worries. Hopefully it gets added in. :-)
