Thanks everyone, we appreciate you continuing to share your feedback on automating Super calculations for under-18s who work more than 30 hours a week. We understand how accounting for this 30-hour threshold would reduce manual adjustments during pay runs.
Our product team has been reviewing this idea as part of their roadmap planning, however at this stage it isn't on our immediate roadmap.
For now, this idea will remain Accepted and will continue to be evaluated as the team plans future Payroll improvements. We’ll be sure to share an update here if there is any progress.

Hi there. With Payday Super changes coming soon, we know many of you will be thinking about how the new super payment timing will work for your business. It’s something we’re keeping a close eye on too.
While this particular idea isn’t currently on our product team’s roadmap, it’s on our radar and we’re actively monitoring the feedback here.
There are also a couple of related ideas focused on super payment timing that are already in development:

Thanks for sharing this idea. We want to be transparent that adding superannuation payments into the payroll .aba export isn’t in our product team's pipeline.
This is because super payments need extra information that an .aba file can’t carry, such as a member number, USI, TFN etc.
.aba files are designed for standard electronic bank payments, so they can't upload this complex data in the file format required for super contributions.
For more detail on the changes coming with Payday Super from 1 July 2026, I’d recommend our Xero Central article. We’re also rolling out improvements to Auto Super and streamlining the payment workflow in Xero, so paying super after each pay run will be faster, easier and remain SuperStream compliant.

Hi everyone, thank you for sharing how your businesses manage salary packages. We understand those using a Super inclusive salary model require manual recalculations with annual SGC increases.
Xero is designed primarily to support small businesses, the vast majority operate on an exclusive salary model. This is largely driven by the award system, where SGC is paid on top of base rate.
Our product team has let us know we don’t have plans on our foreseeable roadmap to change how these calculations are handled in Xero.
We truly appreciate you taking the time to share your workflows with us, as it helps us understand the diverse needs of the Australian business community. We’ll let you know if our priorities change.

Thanks for sharing your idea with us. To be completely upfront, this isn't currently on our roadmap. However, you can already view this information within the employee's STP summary by checking the STP finalisation screen.
Even though it's not planned right now, we're leaving your post open to see what kind of feedback and support it gathers from the community. This has been a huge pain the butt for years! Have had to design an entire workpaper around dealing with this. I'd like to know why its so hard to do that its not even on the roadmap?!

Hiya team, popping in with an update with payday super changes at the front of everyone's mind.
While we’re continuing to monitor interest in this idea, we don’t have any plans at this stage to change how Xero Verify works to include authorising Super payments.
We appreciate feedback on alternative ways to authorise and wanted to share other ideas you may have interest in supporting and staying updated on:
- Setting up multiple auto super authorisers - currently in discovery
- AU Payroll - Option for Auto Super approval code sent to email instead of phone - currently gaining support

Having a clear history trail for edits and approvals in timesheets is valuable for managing payroll accuracy. This is something our product team is aware of, and while it isn’t on our current roadmap, it is something we want to look at in the future.

This seems like such a no brainer! Except super contributions are tied to the employee not the payrun, so it would need to have a partial status as well. With direct debit being the only payment option, not being able to forward date payments, and some of the processing times, Auto Super is going to start loosing ground to other clearing houses soon.

Hey community, thanks for your engagement about your needs in Payday Super.
As you may have seen, we've introduced a new auto super overview page which indicates the number of contributions that need attention/are past their expected payment date, as well as batches that need your attention too.
We have plans for developing send email notifications that'll be triggered to all payroll admins;
- 1 day after the expected payment date has passed, and again
- 7 days after if no action has been taken
We'll keep you updated on these notifications here and encourage your continued feedback.

Further control over the payment timing and origin via BPay or an ABA file is going to become more and more critical in this increasingly tight cashflow economy.
I also think a reminder email going to all payroll admins is pointless. All accounting & bookkeeping advisors are payroll admins, that doesnt mean it is their responsibility. 8 out of 10 payroll admins would ignore it. Should be able to select the advisors to be notified.

Hi everyone thank you for your feedback on superannuation processing times. With the Payday Super changes and the 7-day requirement, we know speed is top of mind.
Currently, most super payments processed through Xero are transferred to fund providers on the 5th business day. You can read more about expected timeframes and legislation updates in our Payday Super FAQs.
We completely understand the demand for faster turnarounds. The entire industry is looking towards faster processing.

Hi everyone, we recognise that a more customisable payslip would provide greater clarity for your employees, better reflect your brand, and save you valuable time.
This isn’t in our immediate roadmap, however we get the benefit this would bring, and it’s on our radar for potential future development. Our product team will consider this idea as they do further roadmap planning.

Raised in August 2022 and in spite of all the STP changes we still can't cope with employees on annual salary! Their pay is not based on the total hours worked each week!
We are required to keep accurate start finish and break times, and yet when we use Xero Timesheets to do this, we end up with Salary employees having their pay changed! with the official Xero work around being don't approve the timesheet until after the payrun is processed. Surely this borders on being non compliant?!

Hi everyone, thanks for sharing how important it is for your business to have monthly salaried employees complete timesheets for tracking and reporting purposes, without impacting pay run calculations.
Some of you have found workarounds like approving timesheets after processing pay runs, although this may create challenges down the line.
Our product team is currently undertaking a wider review of timesheets, and this idea will be included in that process. Therefore we're updating this idea to Accepted. We'll keep you updated if there are any developments on this.

Thanks for the great discussion and all the votes on this idea. We know that without the ability to set specific leave approvers, it can be harder to keep governance clear, avoid self-approval and ensure requests go to the right person.
While we’re not planning to develop dedicated approval workflows in the near term, we want to share a tip that many have found useful. You can help streamline the process by guiding employees to select their direct manager from the approver list. While all payroll admins and leave approvers are listed, this step helps make sure requests reach the right person and keeps oversight clear.
Your feedback here is incredibly valuable for future planning and we’ll continue to keep an eye on this idea’s traction. We’ll keep it open for voting and will share any updates if plans change down the track.

The fact this product idea has been sitting here since 2023 and despite Payday super & its associated functionality changes arriving, its still not on the roadmap, is really quite insulting to be honest.
Can we at least get an explanation as to why this cant be implemented?
There are hundreds of comments from Xero partners in the Facebook group requesting this & the Xero product team is essentially just thumbing their noses at us.
