AU Payroll - Option for Auto Super approval code sent to email instead of phone
AU Payroll - Email auto super code to email address instead of mobile number for overseas travelers who don't always have access to mobile phone
Hi everyone, we just wanted to provide a quick update on this one as the upcoming payday super changes will be top of everyone's minds.
The current approval step is important for both cash flow management and security and the community has also suggested a few different ideas on how to approach this:
- Setting up multiple auto super authorisers - currently in discovery
- Super Payment Authorisation via Xero Verify - currently gaining support
If either of these ideas reflects what’d work best for you, please add your vote, to help us get a clearer understanding what matters most to our community.
When we’re through the thick of EOY and initial payday super is rolled out, our product team will circle back around to these ideas to review.

Would love to be able to choose to receive code by authenticator or email for when I have to process pays with no phone signal

Code aurh to pay super needs to be sent via the email you already send as I travel frequently overseas and use local sim card for my phone. Now that we pay super weekly this has to be rectified asap

Multiple options for receiving the approval codes would be best so a selection can be made at the time of sending for approval to allow for flexibility. If you could select between SMS, email, or authenticator app options that would be ideal.

We MUST have codes to emails at the very least, Xero have done code to various people but only to one authoriser, clearly NOT listening to the masses

Sometimes messages don't work when you are overseas. Another way to receive the auto super code is needed please!!!! Thank you!

Xero Admin why has there been inaction on this? How many votes do you need so we can get an alternative way to receive super payment verification codes other than via text message? Can you not see how frustrating this is?

Should also offer the same method as we use to access Xero - not difficult but, as usual, the IT driven Xero cannot understand a basic function. They just don't understand how accountants and bookkeepers work.
I am overseas for five weeks from September and I will not be able to approve my client's super payments. When the ATO come calling we will point the finger straight at Xero who are actively preventing us from complying with legislation. -

Would really appreciate being able to approve super payments via email

Would really appreciate being able to approving super payments via email or Xero verify rather than text. Very frustrating that it’s through text message

We already get an email from Xero to say the code has been sent by text so why can't it include a code or even a button link to verify approval as some bank apps now do when logging in.
Otherwise, using an authenticator app like Google or Authy would be better, We shouldn't have to use Xero Verify which is only for Xero when we already use the other authenticator apps for other MFA logins.
We shouldn't have to use our personal mobile number for this. -

Crucial - this needs to be attended to as a matter of urgency please. It just takes for one person to be ill or on leave and they risk fines.
Email option would be great as, would 2nd authoriser. -

Xero verify and an email works best please. Multiple authorisers doesn't help me. Thanks

This is absolutely critical - we can't rely on text, especially as a business we have Office/landline numbers so super has to be linked to my personal mobile and when I'm overseas I can't even approve super because I don't have phone sms reception, only wifi.
This needs to be looked at ASAP, especially with weekly super happening next week!! -

Come on. It is Friday, the day most people pay wages, and there is an SMS outage. Please escalate this issue.
Send verification code to email! -

SMS outage and no way to approve Super today is ridiculous!

With payday changes coming through in 2 weeks' time, this SHOULD BE THE VERY TOP OF YOUR LIST. I manage payroll and will be working from Cocos Keeling Islands for 7 weeks (Australian external territory with no mobile reception). I will not be able to pay super within the new payday regulations unless you find a solution to this ASAP.

An email option is a great idea. Also simply allowing each "User" to receive a mobile code to the phone attached to their profile would solve much of the problems. We can manage it through the User rights page.
