Hey everyone, we've been following the conversation closely and we want to acknowledge how important this is for many of you.
Atm, we’re on a long journey to provide more controls within Xero features that our customers need. Being such a broad idea that touches many areas of our platform, we’d like to encourage adding your votes to specific user permissions that matter most to you, such as:
- Bank Accounts: For more control over who can see bank account balances and access specific accounts, please see the idea here: User Role - Restrict access to individual bank accounts
- Sales and Invoicing: If you’d like to see changes to permissions around sales reporting and editing invoice templates, you can follow that conversation here: User roles: Restrict access to Invoice Settings
- Reports: To have your say on restricting access to specific reports, the relevant idea is here: User permissions - Assign user…

Hi community, your ongoing interest in giving users the ability to reconcile without viewing account balances is welcomed.
We understand why this level of bank permission control matters. As recently mentioned in my updates on this idea, while we do have current work for user roles underway there is more complexities to developing permissions within the banking space and this isn't on the immediate roadmap.
As we continue our journey to evolving roles within Xero we'll be sure to share any progress for permissions in bank accounts with you all, here.

Hey everyone, thank you for all your feedback. We’re on a long journey to provide more granular access and controls within Xero features that our customers need.
As you may have seen in some of our recent updates across other user roles ideas we’re currently in the process of adding more permissions within Reporting and Inventory. Further to this our research has highlighted Payroll and Banking as areas that more controls are most needed, and are on our agenda as we continue to develop permissions and access to features.
Your feedback here and through direct engagements with our teams have been extremely insightful, and we appreciate all your inputs.
I'll continue to provide updates on the development of roles for features as we progress.

Hi everyone, we wanted to return and give you an update here. As mentioned in our last post - we want to be forth right that we don't have any plans to remove 'Powered by Xero' from emails sent from Xero, with intentional purpose and based on findings from interactions we can see having true benefit to customers in getting paid faster.
That said, we appreciate the feedback we've received and have made changes since this was initially raised to reduce the size of the footer where this is shown and have removed the hyperlink to xero.com. We will continue to develop the invoice email to continue to drive improvements for our customers and the ways you receive payments.

Maybe we should be charging XERO for advertising space ?
Unfortunately XERO have lost there focus and the only motivation now is revenue and not customer satisfaction or the product. What a shame.

I've contacted XERO in the past about this feature but as of yet nothing, which I find bizarre as for me this is an essential requirement of any accounts package.
I am also looking at alternative providers now as I don't feel that we're being heard.

Hi community, our reporting team is actively testing how reports are grouped and accessed, and we'd like your feedback to help us design a better report grouping structure that supports role-based access in reporting.
How you can help: Complete a quick 15-min online activity to test how reports are grouped and accessed:
- Part 1: answer questions about the current report grouping
- Part 2: explores a new grouping and role-based report access
👉If you're interested, please use this link to get started.
We greatly appreciate your ongoing support & valuable input for the reporting team!
(If you’ve already taken this activity, there's no need to do it again — our researchers may have contacted you earlier 😊)

This is a step in the right direction but not the complete solution by a long way. My only complaint with XERO is user permissions.
I need a user to have access to products and services which is crucial for them to fulfil the job role. They also requires access to quotes and invoices.
In order to provide the access to the above I need to provide them with full access which also gives access to bank statements which is a crazy situation. We are currently looking for another package due to this major limitation which is a real shame.

Sorry XERO, but this needs to be resolved. I have moved from SAGE to XERO and I am now beginning to think that this was a big mistake.
I love the software, but as other users have commented, USER access is either all or nothing. This is not the real world and as a result we have need to change staff job roles.
I have an employee who raises invoices, quotes, orders and stock. For me to giving the user access to products and services means also giving them access to our bank accounts.
This is beyond crazy and needs to be addressed by XERO.I am asked on a regular basis if I would recommend XERO to other customers and at the moment my answer has to be unequivocally NO which is a shame as everything else about the software is excellent.

Hi everyone, we thoroughly appreciate your input and letting us know your appetite for being able to set the Reply to address for your Xero organisation, here in the idea. As many will have seen with new invoicing, our team have begun testing and making small change to the send experience. While we've been able to make these changes when developing other areas of Xero, we want to be upfront that we don't have a timeframe of when we'll upgrade the email settings page just yet, but this is something we will get to in time - when we do our team will also review the Reply to address options as part of this. So, though there is no movement to share on this just yet please know we will let you know here as soon as there is.

Hi team, we're pleased to share that we've released some more features, enabling more users to pay suppliers without logging into your bank!
For our UK customers we've made paying overseas suppliers easier with international bill payments.
Using open banking, you can now securely send money to 180+ countries including Europe (EUR), America (USD) and Australia (AUD). So you don't have to juggle multiple platforms or hidden fees. Whether you're paying a single bill or multiple bills at once, authorise payments prepared by your team and easily track which suppliers have been paid.
We've also launched bill payments in Xero for customers in the US, powered by BILL.
You can make simple, secure payments directly from Xero. You'll be able to authorize payments prepared by your team, and easily track which vendors have been paid. Plus, gain access to millions of vendors over the BILLTM network, and vendors…

Hi.
Can I ask if there has been any updates with regard to user roles within XERO.
I have been complaining about this since I moved over to XERO which in hindsight was probably the biggest mistake I've ever made in my 35 years in business.
As mentioned in other posts, if the access rights were fixed within XERO you would have an exceptional product. As it stands its sub standard and not really fit for purpose. Fine for a one man band but nothing else.
Its a shame that the money spent on advertising couldn't be put to better use by fixing the problems raised by your employers which are the paying users !
