    Hi community, sometime on since my last post we wanted to provide an update for your all here and appreciate the continued attention this idea is receiving.

    We want to be upfront that at this time focuses for the team are in other areas of bank reconciliation and we don't have any current plans for developing the ability to import and export bank rules from an organisation.

    We understand and know this is important to everyone that has voted for the idea and will continue to review and pay close attention to the feedback and votes here. When there is more opportunity for the team to refocus efforts here we will keep you informed of any progress.

    Thanks so much for sharing your feedback on this idea, community. We appreciate that having to manually select attachments on every invoice can feel a little fiddly. We get that you want a smoother workflow, that saves you time.

    As noted by others in the idea, one option for now would be to add standard files, like your terms and conditions, directly to your invoice template. That way, they'll be included automatically when you send out your invoices.

    To confirm how this functionality currently works - this is based on the user and driven by the last invoice that was sent. Where you have files attached, and you had selected to include files as an attachment when emailing the invoice, the next invoice you send with file attachments should have this selected by default.

    A caveat to this is when you are working in incognito mode, or refresh your browser…

    Hi community, in lieu of having a direct feature for this I wanted to highlight the option shared earlier on in this thread (Thanks Peter!) for those it may help.

    As mentioned, currently you could enter a separate line on the invoice, with a negative amount for the retention value, and code this to a 'customer retentions' account in the Balance Sheet. You could also add a comment in the Description field, indicating the cumulative retention value.

    The Account Transactions Report can then be used to manage the values being carried forward. 

    Being open, this isn't something we have planned for development at this time, however we'll continue to gather the interest here, and if there's any changes we'll let you know.

    My clients do use credit notes and a retentions receivable asset account or other similar workarounds. Unfortunately, this means creating a separate retentions receivable account for each of their customers and given that there's multiple projects and contracts for each of those customers and the retentions receivable can only be reconciled with the customer's statement on a per-project basis, it's still something that needs my clients to maintain a manual spreadsheet OR create a separate receivables account for each project (which gets very unwieldy very quickly).

    Thanks for your feedback, everyone. We really appreciate you sharing your thoughts and the needs you've expressed about how auto linking recurring invoices to projects would save time, and give you more insights into project profitability.

    The primary way to link repeating invoice line items to a project is to manually assign them to the project once the invoice has been generated, though we know you're looking for ways to streamline this process.

    We've carefully reviewed all your comments and the strong desire for this functionality, however after much consideration, we've decided that we won't be developing the ability to assign repeating invoices to projects in the foreseeable future.

    I can see that a particular (now ex-)user made changes to transactions, but I cannot see when their access was removed, nor can I see what email address they were using to log in - this means that I can't differentiate easily between work done by users with similar, generic names.

    Clarification: you're asking for the ability to tax commissions paid every pay period using the regular tax table instead of table 5. They still need to be reported as commissions under STP2, so they can't be reported as an ordinary hours pay item.

    That is: if an employee is paid their regular pay monthly, and received commissions relating only to that month, then it is currently being taxed as if they were being paid their regular pay weekly with commissions paid monthly, which is not as per ATO guidelines and therefore can potentially lead to withholding the incorrect amount of tax.

    When I create a batch payment for multiple bills to a single vendor, Xero currently groups all those payments into one when creating the .aba file and labels the grouped payment with the payment reference from one of the payments in the batch.

    I would like to be able to create an .aba file with each separate bill paid on a separate line with a separate payment reference, to make it easier for the vendor matching those payments to the bills they sent us. Especially since sometimes, when I am sending payments to related entities or to other clients of mine, that person reconciling those payments is me.

    Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this one, community. We know how important scheduling payslips is for many of you, and we appreciate the time you’ve taken to explain how it could help your workflow.

    We understand being able to set a future send date could make life easier when you’re managing different client paydays, covering for colleagues who are away or avoiding confusion from employees receiving payslips before the money is in their account.

    Right now the workaround is to set a reminder to log in and send payslips on the required day. We know that’s not ideal, and while we don’t have dates to share, we’re committed to improving the payslip experience. This idea is under active consideration and we’ll keep you updated on progress.

    I'm running three weeks worth of weekly payroll for one client today, with the client's permission, because neither of us wants to be in the office in between Christmas and New Year's. I'd really like to schedule the payslips to automatically send on the day that the payments are scheduled for.

    (Payslips that aren't sent within 24 hours of payroll payment day are breaking employment law; me working while I'm on annual leave breaches my contract. Basically, I currently have no option available to follow all legal requirements)

    Fair Work Australia says payslips are to be sent within a day of payday - we like to queue up payroll so as much as possible runs automatically over Christmas, when we're all on leave, but payslips being required to be sent within a day of payday means that we can't, for example, create a payroll to be paid on 28/12/22 and then go on holiday - someone has to log in while they're visiting family just to send the payslips.

    The sending of payslips (within 1 day of recorded payment date) is a legal requirement here in Australia. I would like a report that lists any payslips that have not been sent, so I can quickly check if my clients have done what they are supposed to have, and rectify it if not.

    Appreciate wanting to get a view of the ideas you've started. 

    It's not possible on the platform itself currently, however if you select the option to 'Export my data' from your Settings and Activity page you'll receive a few files, one of which is a CSV of all the ideas you've started and the URL to be able to view these online
