Hi everyone, while we appreciate and initially provided a solution for the idea here within the new invoicing email modal, we wanted to return as after further testing this feature has needed to be removed.
That said, we know being able to add basic formatting to your emails is important to some of our customers and while the tool bar has been removed you can still add basic html formatting to your emails to bold, add italics or underline text within the invoice emails you send to customers.
- Bold = <b> and </b>
- Italics = <i> and </i>
- Underline = <u> and </u>
We understand not all customers are familiar with these tags so I've added an example image that shows the different tags that can be added and how these will show instantly within the email preview so you can make sure you email looks as you expect.
If…

This appears different from the original request to add HTML formatting to emails.
If you put a hyperlink in there, most email programs will show it as a link, so not really necessary unless you are trying to hide the link like "CLICK HERE" instead of having,
View our payment terms (https://?????)The logo already appears in the emails, so what more do you want?
I do find it frustrating that the pay link defaults to their payment platform where most of my customers pay by Bank Transfer, which is fee-free.

It would also be nice to format the color for when Invoices are overdue. Only bold and italics work.
Using span with styles is ignored. -

We appreciate the interest in more customisation when sending documents from Xero, everyone. Currently in the space of new invoicing we have recently released a new send modal that enables the use of rich text formatting, and allows you to cc and Bcc emails.
Currently this is limited to send of invoices with new invoicing only, however over time we will look at expanding this to other areas of Xero that you can send from. I'll keep you updated of any further enhancements surrounding this, here.

Account Transactions: Receipts - Send automated 'payment received' e-mail when payment is reconciled
513 votesHi everyone, we totally get how automating the sending of receipts when a transaction is reconciled would free up time and the manual task involved in this activity.
Though not in the pipeline at present, this is a feature our product team would like to explore more in the future.
We’ll be sure to update you all again when we are able to look into this deeper. Thanks

Basically, their response from March says they aren't going to do it.
Really sad.

The Australian Government requires a receipt for anything over $75. If you are based in A/NZ you should know this. Why can't this be simpler to do or allow us to automate it.
The current process is too long, but we are forced to do it to comply with the law.
Also, to clarify, I'm not saying to have a minimum, but an all option or easier.

Ability to send a receipt when reconciling to an invoice. Right now you have to reconcile, then go into the invoice, then the payment, then send the receipt. This is an arduous process and is a legal requirement for any payment over $75 in Australia.
I don't have to send receipts for payments through Stripe, as that already sends a receipt, but it doesn't link to the invoice number, just the payment. If I had the option to easily do it, then I would.
A dashboard option to send receipts would be a good option as well. Reducing the number of clicks is helpful. -

Thanks for your continued engagement and valuable feedback on this long-standing idea, everyone. We've been carefully reviewing your comments and want to acknowledge the clear sentiment of frustration regarding the current limitations around managing multiple addresses for contacts, particularly for invoicing and delivery purposes, and that this is a critical feature to many of you.
We want to share an update on our progress here - We're pleased to confirm that the foundational work for handling multiple addresses has been completed within the Contacts area of Xero. This was a crucial first step. Building on this, now that all customers are on the new invoicing experience our product team has moved into the discovery phase for adding multiple addresses directly within invoicing. This means they are actively exploring the best way to implement this functionality to meet your needs effectively.
We appreciate your patience as we work through the complexities…

I thought I would add a bit of technical information, as I have developed applications and databases in the past.
A common flaw when people create contact tables is to restrict the number of addresses that can be added to a contact, by putting that information in the same table. If they used a separate table for addresses (as I believe they do for phone numbers, as you can add multiple ones), then this would be somewhat easier to implement the request. I know, because that is how I do it in my programs.
Unfortunately, if this decision is incorrectly made at the beginning of the database design, then it becomes incredibly difficult the make the change, as you have to update so much stuff to change it (queries and procedures). It is not insignificant. So, unfortunately, I doubt that they will do anything about this.

Hi team, we're pleased to share that we've released some more features, enabling more users to pay suppliers without logging into your bank!
For our UK customers we've made paying overseas suppliers easier with international bill payments.
Using open banking, you can now securely send money to 180+ countries including Europe (EUR), America (USD) and Australia (AUD). So you don't have to juggle multiple platforms or hidden fees. Whether you're paying a single bill or multiple bills at once, authorise payments prepared by your team and easily track which suppliers have been paid.
We've also launched bill payments in Xero for customers in the US, powered by BILL.
You can make simple, secure payments directly from Xero. You'll be able to authorize payments prepared by your team, and easily track which vendors have been paid. Plus, gain access to millions of vendors over the BILLTM network, and vendors…

I agree with Lucas. One of my accounts needs to copy the description and amount, just the account (COGS) and tax rate would stay the same.

@Daniel Tucker, you can use bold and italics (I'm not sure about underline). You just need to add tags like this: <b>Bold Text</b>, <i>Italics Text</i>, <u>Underlined Text</u>.
