Hi team, thanks for sharing your feedback on permissions here. We really appreciate the strong interest in this area.
With the new client and staff experience, some of you may have already seen the updated Client permissions, which help address part of this need. We’ve also recently introduced a change that allows staff with view-only access to create and edit notes, which also reflects some of the feedback raised.
To be transparent, we don't have any plans in the near term to enable staff to edit contact groups or relationships without full edit access. As the team continues to develop the practice experience, they’ll keep monitoring feedback in this area, and if anything changes we’ll be sure to share an update here.

This feature is absolutely vital for database integrity. Why restrict the relationships to only Clients in our list? You are only allowing us to have this data 50% complete at best! At the very least, we should be able to select a contact.

Hi everyone, thanks for sharing on your needs for a comprehensive client audit trail in XPM. We understand this feature is critical for accountability and data integrity, and we hear you on the pain points this is causing.
As you might've read and heard updates of our teams are currently working on a unified experience across practice tools with the Xero Partner Hub.
History of client changes aren't wrapped into the initial work, but this is something the team would like to look at longer term and for now we'll move the idea to Accepted. Once Xero Partner Hub is fully released we can consider and will share any updates around history with you all here

As our firm grows, we are finding that this feature is critical to have! If we could see who has actioned certain data additions and updates, we would know who to go to for any issues with that data. History should be viewable for ALL client data. At the very least, it should be reportable.

We can see who created an invoice, who approved it, who sent it and on what date. Why can't we see this for Job states?

Hi all, we appreciate you sharing and supporting in the idea here. As I'm sure you'll have noticed we have released new unified client and staff experiences.
While it's not possible to create a report to identify which staff can access client tax returns just yet, this is something that our product team are exploring.
While not a definite as yet, I'll keep you informed on updates around this through the idea here. Thanks

Very frustrating receiving hundreds of these notifications because you are the person who administers Xero file access for an accounting firm. I don't need to know when a client's employee changes their bank account.

With the admin involved in running a Trust account being so annoying, we no longer wish to receive client refunds. I need to be able to report on which clients have this box ticked so that I can remove them all. Having to trawl through the entire database is not an option. Please get this field added to reporting ASAP!
