Hi everyone, we appreciate all the feedback and votes on this idea. We know using Microsoft Entra ID SSO is now common practice for some businesses and being able to access Xero via a native integration with Entra ID would streamline how your teams log in and get set up in Xero, as well as help in managing access for larger teams and keeping things secure.
Our product team have been working with a small limited group of Partners to develop SSO capabilities. Though we can't give any definite timelines yet, we’ll keep this thread updated with news. Thanks

I went to the NZ Cyber security Summit in Wellington a week ago. Crowdstrike gave a presentation where someone senior from Xero took part in the presentation. The audience was a few hundred cyber professionals. Xero person went to great lengths to point out how conscious Xero is about customer cyber security on the platform. Knowing SSO is still not available in Xero was a topic at lunch afterwards. Time to get serious on this Xero instead of talking a big game about Cyber Security. The reality is not in line with the marketing!

SIngle sign on capability with Microsoft Azure and/or Okta would certainly increase our security posture

Thanks for continuing to explain how the current all or nothing Payroll Admin access affects your teams. We’re now developing more granular payroll permissions, starting with separate View, Edit and Approve Timesheets access so timesheet tasks can be delegated without exposing the wider payroll area.
While the current work is focused on Timesheets access directly we recognise there are other sensitive areas within payroll that you'd like more incremental access to and we'll continue to consider these as our development of permissions evolves.
I'll come back to share when these Timesheets options are live!

The access rights are crazy limited. I want to grant managers so they can enter leave for their direct reports, but they can only do this with Payroll admin rights which allows them to see everyone else's pay information

Hi everyone, apologies it's taken some time for us to provide an update, we’d like to let you know where things stand.
While we understand the value of a comprehensive leave report and appreciate your feedback, our current focus is on upcoming New Zealand legislative changes. As a result, enhancements to Leave reports aren’t currently planned, but we’ll continue to consider this feedback as our priorities evolve.
We'll let you know if the position of this idea shifts in the future.

Need a report that shows leave balances (available to take in advance). Currently have to go into every single employee and note the balance.

Improving user permissions and providing greater control over sensitive data is a key area of focus for us. While we have no specific feature to announce today, your feedback is critical in shaping the future of this part of Xero.

Yes, the permissions are not granular enough. Payroll admin or nothing. We have managers that need to view payroll info for their staff only. No way to do that currently. Most other payroll software can do this no issue
