    Hi everyone, we thoroughly appreciate everyone’s interest and support for enabling the ability to apply a prompt payment discount to invoices.

    We understand how a direct prompt payment discount feature would improve the efficiency and automate manual efforts currently involved for you all here, but would like to be transparent that this isn’t something we’ve been able to roadmap atm.

    Right now, one way to indicate that your business accepts or will apply a discount for prompt payment would be to write this into the invoice payment terms. When acted on there are a few ways you could consider recording this in Xero, such as;

    • Edit the invoice to apply a discount directly
    • Edit the invoice to add a negative line that directly draws down the total amount of the invoice
    • Apply a credit to the invoice for the portion of the discount

    Hi everyone, we appreciate the support we've received through this idea. Without beating around the bush we don't have any short term plans for enabling the import of spend and receive money transactions. This may be something we look into further down the track so we'll continue to track and review the idea here.

    For Xero Partners you could look to use the Conversion toolbox to import bank transactions for your clients.

    A current limitation of the Invoice Only user permission is that the user cannot add payment services to an invoice. A second user with more expansive permissions must go in to add payment services to the invoice. This is an unnecessary additional step that can slow down the A/R process. Adding "add payment services" as an option under the Invoice Only permission will help to streamline this process for many companies.

    Thanks to everyone that’s shared interest in being able to write-off invoices or bills as a bad debt. We understand how a direct feature would enhance your use of Xero and flows when trading.

    As shared in our last update, while not a one-click solution we appreciate the needs expressed for being able to record bad debts right now, and have a Xero Central article that provides a way of currently accommodating this in Xero today.

    There are also other options that have been shared by members in this conversation that some may want to explore.

    We want to be open that specific bad debts functionality isn’t planned for invoices or bills at this time, but we understand the needs here and it’ll continue to remain high on our team’s radar when reviewing and prioritising their roadmap.

    With differing product teams and needs for this functionality within invoices and bills…

    Hi everyone, we wanted to provide an update of a recent change we have made where you'll now see the email address of the primary email entered in the To field is recorded in history each time an invoice is sent. You can read more about this change in my update here.

    As mentioned on that thread there are a couple of unique scenarios we are tidying up and I'll return to confirm once that is complete.

    The ability to see what has been previously changed on a bill, transaction, etc. Sometimes clients change things without telling you, and it would be nice to know what they changed.

    The History and Notes feature is great but doesn't provide enough detail for this.
