Hi everyone, we thoroughly appreciate everyone’s interest and support for enabling the ability to apply a prompt payment discount to invoices.
We understand how a direct prompt payment discount feature would improve the efficiency and automate manual efforts currently involved for you all here, but would like to be transparent that this isn’t something we’ve been able to roadmap atm.
Right now, one way to indicate that your business accepts or will apply a discount for prompt payment would be to write this into the invoice payment terms. When acted on there are a few ways you could consider recording this in Xero, such as;
- Edit the invoice to apply a discount directly
- Edit the invoice to add a negative line that directly draws down the total amount of the invoice
- Apply a credit to the invoice for the portion of the discount

Hi everyone, we’d like to round back to share an update that the ability to accept deposits has now rolled out to all AU, NZ, UK, CA, SG and US organisations, and we expect to make this available to remaining regions soon.
Staying close to feedback from its release, our team have recently added a due date field in which you can select a specific date that payment of the deposit is expected if this differs from the Invoice due date.
I look forward to looping back to finalise once we’re at 100% roll out of deposits, and give you a hint of where we’ll be expanding functionality next!

We are trialling Xero projects currently, unfortunately this will be a deal breaker to continue using the system long term as it means we can't run our projects through it accurately enought to keep track of profitability and work in progress over a financial year.

Hey community, we understand an option to import Projects is something everyone that's voted on this idea would find valuable, and that this could speed up your workflow and improve accuracy when managing a high volume of projects or migrating from another system.
While not a solve for all aspects of a project, within the bills side of things we released the ability to upload bills that might reduce the time taken in manually entering data for project related bills, now.
Being open and honest, we don't have any plans for enabling the import of projects to Xero. We know this isn't the update you're hoping for here, but want to give clear expectation so you can make the best decision for your business.

We’ve reactivated Projects after 18 months away, expecting meaningful improvements. However, the continued lack of core functionality, especially the inability to bulk add bills, makes the module difficult to use in practice.
Without progress in areas like this, we’re likely to downgrade again. Is there a genuine intention within Xero to invest in and develop Projects further?
