  1. We are a booking agent and collect revenue less costs from venues , I currently use sales invoice to record sales(settlement) and enter costs as a negative amount that are an expense in my project, Project treats the deductions as a reduction in income not an expense, can this be fixed?

  2. As an event company, we often receive bills months after the original project is "complete". I wish I could assign costs to "complete" projects the same way that I can assign invoices to "complete" projects.

    Hi everyone, apologies it's been so long since our last engagement here. We appreciate the additional feedback that's been shared.

    Right now, it's not possible to assign bills to projects that have a Closed/Completed status. Instead, the best option would be to update the status of the Project temporarily to be able to assign your bill/s and then re close it.

    Being upfront this isn't something we have any plans for enabling in the near term. If the position of this idea changes we will share an update here.

  3. To import individual time entries from projects to payroll timesheets, at the moment this only comes through as a bulk time for the day, you then have to manually add the time to the particular pay item if you use more then one pay item. Very frustrating and time consuming, would be nice to have this automated.

    Hi there, we appreciate you raised this a little while ago. It's currently possible to import project time to timesheets, however the rate is generally imported as the regular earnings rate.

    This isn't something we have plans for in the near term.

    Not getting a lot of support from other members we’ll soon remove this from Product ideas. If it’s still highly valuable to you, welcome to start it again and see if it gets renewed interest.

  4. Ability to assign repeating to Xero Project.

    Thanks for your feedback, everyone. We really appreciate you sharing your thoughts and the needs you've expressed about how auto linking recurring invoices to projects would save time, and give you more insights into project profitability.

    The primary way to link repeating invoice line items to a project is to manually assign them to the project once the invoice has been generated, though we know you're looking for ways to streamline this process.

    We've carefully reviewed all your comments and the strong desire for this functionality, however after much consideration, we've decided that we won't be developing the ability to assign repeating invoices to projects in the foreseeable future.

  5. Ability to import bills, invoices and project lists into Xero Projects.

    Purpose: It is beneficial for organisation that heavily rely on Xero projects, as this feature will help them do their invoicing and track their expenditure.

    Hey community, we understand an option to import Projects is something everyone that's voted on this idea would find valuable, and that this could speed up your workflow and improve accuracy when managing a high volume of projects or migrating from another system.

    While not a solve for all aspects of a project, within the bills side of things we released the ability to upload bills that might reduce the time taken in manually entering data for project related bills, now.

    Being open and honest, we don't have any plans for enabling the import of projects to Xero. We know this isn't the update you're hoping for here, but want to give clear expectation so you can make the best decision for your business.

  6. Make it mandatory to add tracking to items where available e.g Purchase Orders, Invoice, Bill, Expense

    Purpose: Prompt for users when manually entering invoices, and assurity that each line has been allocated to a tracking option

    Hi everyone, thanks for your continued engagement and support for the idea of making tracking categories mandatory in Xero. We really appreciate you sharing your insights on the benefits that adding this feature would bring to your financial reporting and month-end processes.

    Right now, you could use find and recode to assign a tracking option to any transaction lines that are currently unassigned. 

    Regarding the future of this idea, we've carefully reviewed all your feedback and the critical need you've expressed for this feature. While we understand the value and time-saving potential this improvement would bring, we want to be transparent that making tracking categories mandatory across all relevant transactions isn't on our roadmap for development. If our position of this changes in time, we'll share an update for everyone, here.
