An error occurred while saving the comment Julie Curnow commentedA fundamental part of accounting is budgets and to have the P&L without the balance sheet shows a lack of appreciation that Xero is not used by just sole traders, and accounting firms.

Hi everyone, it'd be good to know if there are there any specific reports that you'd find this particularly helpful in?

An error occurred while saving the comment Julie Curnow commentedFor us it is the custom income statements where we bring in a range say Employment Costs is accounts starting with the number 4. The report brings them in a strange order. It is not by account code, alphabetically or by amount. We cannot work out the order and we cannot drag and drop the accounts into the order we want. The only work around would be to not use the function "Include Accounts by Code" and bring them in manually. But that means if a new account is created we have to manually drag it into the correct spot.
Thanks in advance -

Hi everyone, we appreciate all your feedback on how we could evolve roles for customers using Xero. As you can see through the ideas on the platform, there are a wide range of combinations of permissions our customers want to see us build. As user roles impact all areas of the product, there are many considerations we must factor in when assessing how to solve for majority of our customers needs.
We’re beginning to conduct research on the current landscape and how we might approach some of the most predominant needs in roles for our customers. Front footing this, the discovery of this work will be long winded and there will be multiple phases of research and forms of engagement with users that’ll help shape the path ahead in this space.
We’d like to invite you, our community to be part of this research and discovery. This may involve interviews…An error occurred while saving the comment Julie Curnow commentedI love Xero but I think their user access is its biggest short coming. User permissions are a fundamental part of any accounts system.
This is one area where I prefer more complexity and choice.
We lose a lot of potential efficiency and effectiveness by not allowing people to do their jobs / duplicating effort so that junior staff don't end up seeing confidential data.Julie Curnow supported this idea ·
Thanks for your reply Kelly.
I was hoping this would be an easy fix. The rounding causes us no end of problems because our budget workings are prepared in spreadsheets and it is a pain to have every formula modified to the $ as it results in the budget being slightly different to the amount requested. We have 11 departments and each department has its own rounding difference. This year they totalled $134. It's not much in $ but it is a pain that the reports presented to our Board have small inconsistencies.
