Hi community, we appreciate hearing your interest around the reports that would be useful for you to use in Report Templates.

We have decided to split the request for Payroll reports and the Tracking Summary report as it is unlikely these would both be added at once.

You'll find the new idea for the Tracking Summary report across here and this one will remain centered around Payroll reports.

We want to be honest that we don't have any plans at this stage for adding payroll reports to Report Templates. But, our product teams are aware of the interest surrounding this and we'll let you know if there is any progress on this idea.

Hi team we appreciate the feedback and interest in adding the Tracking Summary report to Report Templates here. Being upfront this isn't something we have plans for.

However, we've made a recent update to enable you to adding a custom Tracking Summary report to Adviser packs which may meet some of the needs here.

I see there's also been mentions in this thread of users that'd like to add payroll report to report templates and I wanted to highlight this idea that I'd recommend adding your vote for if of interest. Thanks!

Hi everyone, we appreciate how automatically sending statements could improve cash flows, and save the manual efforts involved in this periodic task.

We recognise the importance of this functionality, and with a clear focus on decreasing the time it takes for our customers to receive payments, I’m pleased to share that this idea is now In discovery. 😊

While we can’t give any commitments to development yet, this is a good step in the right direction and we’ll be sure to update you on progress from the exploration here. Thanks!

Automatic customer statements is a really basic finance office function. Any idea when this feature may be developed?

Yes please Xero. The ability to easily identify the number of hours and days an employee has worked over a specific period is an important set of data. Currently the analysis required for over 100 employees is an extremely lengthy exercise. This information should be at our fingertips, along with details of employee bank accounts.
I understand this is not a reportable feature for security reasons, but during last week’s outage it would have been useful to gave saved an in crypts and password protected backup of this data outside of Xero for time sentive critical operations.

Thanks to everyone following this idea. We understand how being able to import and export pay items would positively impact your review processes.

Though this isn’t currently in the roadmap, we see the value this’d bring in regards to pay award updates. We’ve updated the idea status to accepted and we’ll share any future developments, here. Your input in idea’s is always appreciated.

I totally support this concept. Apart from being a critical time saving feature for employers with a huge list of pay items, it would help negate the risk of data entry error.

Hi everyone, thanks for your feedback and votes on adding birthday notifications to Australian payroll - we understand how this could help with team celebrations and managing age-based award rate compliance.

After reviewing with our product team, this feature isn't currently on our roadmap, and we'll update the status to 'Not in Pipeline'. Right now, setting up an external calendar could help you track these important dates.

We appreciate you all taking the time to share your feedback with us, and will continue to watch the traction this idea receives through Votes. If there is any change, we will share an update here.

Ability to setup a payroll reminder when an employee is due for a payrate increase according to their birthdate would be a great feature. Especially for employees under 21 where their rates change each year. I have used this feature in other payroll management systems and it is rally quite crucial - especially when you are managing payroll as an independent contractor and are not part of the day-to-day business. Triggers like this are necessary.

Absolutely agreed! This would be particularly helpful to ensure robust data validation for reporting purposes.

I recently had to run a manual pay run for 56 employees and because I could not export the bank details from Xero into a csv, they had to be entered manually.

    Not ideal!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on bulk allocation of credit notes, everyone. We understand that manually applying credit notes one by one can be time-consuming, and we appreciate wanting a a faster, more streamlined solution.

Currently, while we know it won't be the flow that suits all, it's possible to apply credit notes to multiple invoices for a single contact by opening the credit note and selecting the invoices to apply it to.

Atm, we're in the process of releasing a new experience for Sales Credit Notes. This work will enable us to develop changes like you're asking here longer term. However, the initial release is focused on developing existing features into the new Credit Notes experience. Once this is fully rolled out the team will have more capacity to consider enhancements like bulk allocations, however we want to be upfront that this isn't planned for the short term.

    We…

Xero team - I am jumping on the bandwagon with this request. Hours are spent each month applying multiple single credit notes to multiple single invoices for the same supplier - most of the invoices that relate to the credit notes have already been paid in previous months. This is a huge nightmare and ridiculously time-consuming. There must be a better way without having to pay for an add-on. I have used les sophisticated accounting programs than Xero that can manage this function better. I urge you to prioritise this request.

Hi community, thanks for the strong support in being able to attach files within Xero Payroll, both for employee records and pay runs. We really appreciate you sharing the value and efficiency this could create for you when working with Xero. It's evident that being able to store important documents like licenses, sick notes, and onboarding papers directly in Xero would remove the need for external storing systems or manual processes.

We acknowledge it's not the end goal but wanted to highlight the use of apps, as some have shared like Dext, to help bridge this gap in the meantime.

I want to assure you that enabling attachments in payroll is part of our long-term intentions. However, to deliver this functionality effectively and reliably, we first need to develop some foundational elements within our payroll platform.

We understand your frustration with the timeline and the limited updates, and we're…

For small businesses like many of my clients, it would be advantageous to be able to store things like employment contracts and all other sensitive employee information in a folder for each employee. Accessible only to users with Payroll Admin access. This would work well without having to invest in additional payroll management software external to Xero.
