AU Payroll - Set up birthday and apprenticeship anniversaries reminders in Xero Payroll
It would be very helpful if there were the ability to set up Reminders in Xero Payroll for certain dates such as birthdays and apprenticeship anniversaries so that you would know to change the employee's Pay Rate accordingly.

We have over 50 employees, some of them are under 18 and it's important that we update their pay rate when they turn 18, but there is not yet any notification in Xero that let's us know. This would be an amazing feature please!!!

We've been Xero customers for about 10yrs and I still cannot believe this feature is not supported. As a software engineer, this doesn't appear to be a very complex feature to implement.
Add a new Anniversary Date box. Check box for 'Same as Birthday'.
Then when each payrun is processed, see if any 'anniversary dates' fall within the payrun date range and if so alert user.

It would be great if Xero could review an employee's start date and send an automatic email on the employees anniversary date each year. For example, if an employee starts 01/01/2024, Xero should send you an email on 01/01 each year to say something like "today is the employment anniversary of XYZ".

It would be great to be able to enter a date flag/reminder when a key anniversary arrives, so that rates can be adjusted accordingly. This could include multiple flags for rates, birthdays, leave anniversary etc etc, any key date relevant to that employee. Then payroll could run a report before each payrun, to ensure rates have been increased at the right time, saving external records, and potential missed/underpaid wages.

I'm considering moving across to another provider as 80% of our staff are under 20yrs old across two businesses.
It doesn't makes sense why this isn't an option -

Ability to setup a payroll reminder when an employee is due for a payrate increase according to their birthdate would be a great feature. Especially for employees under 21 where their rates change each year. I have used this feature in other payroll management systems and it is rally quite crucial - especially when you are managing payroll as an independent contractor and are not part of the day-to-day business. Triggers like this are necessary.

Employees paid under an award must move up a pay point on the anniversary of their employment. It would require a new field for anniversary date (not use the employment start date) because an employee may change roles i.e. their start date would remain unchanged but the anniversary for moving up a pay point may be different if they change roles.

Ability to enter additional dates for things such as qualification or rate changes, and then set appropriate notifications. Adding notifications to these, as well as things such as start dates, birth dates etc, or even running reports, would be beneficial to reducing missed rate increases.

This is important for my employer, as we do salary reviews on employee's anniversary date from the start of their employment.
