    We run two different VAT registrations for one company (UK and IE) so we have both UK and Irish tax types, we run our VAT returns for different periods for the two country's (UK is quarterly and Ireland is bi-monthly).

    We need the option for backdated / adjusted items after the return (as we cannot link directly to HMRC having both country's VAT running we don't get the same functionality as a UK company would), we need to be able to post the return to the ledger and mark items as included so that entry's after the filing date are flagged in the next return (the way that you can do in the Sage accounting products)

    We run two different VAT registrations for one company (UK and IE) so we have both UK and Irish tax types, we run our VAT returns for different periods for the two country's (UK is quarterly and Ireland is bi-monthly). The sales tax report needs an option to filter for certain tax types so we can run it for only UK tax types or only Irish Tax types.

    To add we run two different VAT registrations (one in Ireland and one in the UK) our companys currency is euro but we need to get the sterling value for UK VAT returns

    Hey community, thanks for your interest and feedback on this idea 💡

    Did you know that the transaction reports on the VAT return can be exported to Excel format where these can then be sorted/searched and filtered to help review the transactions?

    We don’t have any near term plans to expand functionality to develop the ability to sort, filter and search within the tax rate box of the VAT return. If anything changes in the future, we’ll update you on this idea! 📢

    This is very frustrating, the number of times you think its been assigned and find you added the customer next to each item and clicked ok and not assign first, it seems to be an extra step that really has no sense in it being there!

    Hi community, we appreciate your continued feedback on having different default email addresses for various transaction types in Xero contacts, and the manual steps involved to ensure you're communicating with the right person for different purposes.

    Currently, one way of managing this in Xero would be to include every additional person on a contact record in emails, and then removing those that aren't required when sending each transaction. However we totally get this isn't the ideal solution.

    While being able to set different email addresses for differing transaction types is something we want to address longer term, like the idea for multiple addresses work for this feature requires cross-collaboration between teams in order to achieve.

    Once the multiple addresses feature is live this is something we'll be able to consider more closely and provide further updates on.

    Hi Samantha, when referring to send would this be the 'Email' button in classic?

    If so this is actually still available in new invoicing, you'll find the option in the 3 dot menu at the top of the page 🙂

    Hi everyone, as another step toward improving history of new invoicing you'll find you'll now see an entry when an invoice is sent, and the email address it has been sent to. 

    We appreciate this is something we've heard a fair amount of feedback on and we hope helps in your journey to using new invoicing.

    Hi community, we acknowledge the strong feelings in this idea and why you need a feature to flag bills directly within Xero. We really appreciate all your feedback and the detailed explanations of how this would help streamline your accounts payable.

    We are dedicated to providing a solution for this over the longer term, but this will take some time requiring changes that sit beneath the face of bills.

    In lieu of a direct feature for this we wanted to highlight some of the options discussed by the community here:

    • Add a note to the bill: A detailed note on the bill itself can serve as a clear internal reminder of the dispute.
    • Utilise tracking categories: Creating a specific tracking category like "Disputed Bills" can help you filter and report on these items.

    Make it possibly to assign a control account per VAT type at least, we have to run UK and Irish VAT and as an Irish company majority is Irish so cant set up MTD so have to use an external app for this and our vat report combines boit types, our Irish VAT is bi monthly and our UK VAT is quarterly so we cant even align the details on the report. We also have a German company and are completely unable to produce data to their requirements and have to manually create a csv file with all transactions for the period for that company, ideally we would like to be able to mark which transactions have been included in a return to at least run reports showing unsubmitted transactions

    Thanks for sharing and supporting here, everyone.

    For those that aren't already across, though manual at present you could run the Account Transactions report to manually reconcile against your filed VAT returns.

    We appreciate the process could be more automated. Though this isn't something we have immediate change planned around atm, we'll update you here if there's any news.
