Contacts - Different default email addresses for different transactions in Xero
Ability to allocate different transactions to different email addresses.
Purpose: Because it’ll make users’ workflow easier when they’re dealing with the contacts that have different departments.

Do Xero actually pay any attention to customer requests for features. This has been around since 2015 and still not implemented

This feature would be incredibly helpful and is an issue we are dealing with at the moment.
I myself email purchase orders to our suppliers to their sales email address.
Another staff member emails remittances to their accounts email address.
And another staff member emails sales invoices to a different email address again.
All 3 of us need to delete each email address from the auto generated email pop-up box each time we send... quite annoying and time consuming!! -

This should be fundamental to Xero and is needed urgently please! One of the reasons we switched to Xero to save time but the lack of being able to specify separate email addresses for different departments is causing a lot of of extra work.

I would like to be able to add different email addresses to select to send remittance advices or purchase orders

Yes! our customers have a buying team separate to the accounts department and currently we have to include both departments in on al documents (quotes and invoices and statements) which really annoys them as the accounts team have no interest in the quotes and the buying team has no interest in the invoices!

Agree with all of these comments. We need the ability to change the destination email address easily.
I have a large customer who require invoices to be sent to different email addresses (different departments within their finance group) depending on what the invoice is for. A drop down list would be perfect and minimize typing mistakes. -

We have a company that is a supplier and also a customer. They have requested a different email address for their remittance advice but if I change this then their invoices go to the wrong address. It would be ideal if different email addresses could be loaded for a supplier and a customer when they are the same company.

The ability to be able to send invoices to accounts payable and remittances to accounts receivable along with purchase orders to an order email is a basic requirement for most businesses. Including this would remove a lot of manual intervention.

New Invoices - The ability to select an email address from a drop down list for that customer to send invoices to.
I have a very large corporate customer who require invoices to be sent to different email addresses (different departments within their finance group) depending on what the invoice is for.At the moment only the email address for the primary contact is used (by default) so as a work around I have created multiple customers using slight variations of the company name (which I get in trouble for).

Would be great to have a different default contact for Quotes and Invoices.
Most times the contact you quote is not the same contact that pays the invoice.
Would like to be able to set a Default Contact and Email for Invoices (accounts) and a different Default Contact and email for Quotes. -

I would love to be able to send statements to a specific email address ..not the one that i sent the quote or invoice to
with automated systems they don't want the statement going to that system
i would like to add an email address into a card and then pick if they get the quote invoice or statement -

I am amazed there are only 263 votes for this.
A very basic feature required by most companies with more than 1 member of staff.
Come on Xero you have got us over to your software, now start to deliver or we will move away to other software providers that do listen.

The ability to have separate email addresses for our Customers for Quotes and Invoices .
A few customers have asked for Quotes to go to standard company email address but Invoices to go direct to the account departments.
With a lot of invoices and Customers its hard work remembering to change email address between the two -

We are looking at moving to Xero and need to have a different email address for ALL our invoices and statements.
If this has been an issue for 9 years (so far), how much longer are we to wait?

We do most of our work for councils, with multiple contacts that we invoice (20-30 different contacts) I know that I can add their email addresses to contacts using' include in emails' but each time I send an invoice/quote I have to unselect all emails that don't apply to that particular invoice/quote, which is very time consuming.
I then tried leaving their email addresses in the contact but deselected 'included in email' hoping that if when sending the email, when i start to type the email address required may populate, but this didn't work.
Surely there is a way around this, similar to any email program, when starting to type in the recipients email it just appears??
Hopefully this is works in progress for the Xero team?? -

Xero is very cheap and therefore good value for what you get. But unfortunately that means there is almost no Support/response on any requests, even if you contact their helpdesk by phone. This particular request which is a basic expectation of an accounting program has been requested for years now but no response. The main consideration when changing to Xero - take the value for money approach and put up with the frustration around some missing basic things, or pay a bit more for better program with more support and development.

Looking at changing to xero from a competitor but this is pretty much a deal-breaker.
