Thanks for your open feedback and sharing how we can improve these forums for you! It's crucial to us understanding how we can get better at communicating about product developments.
We wanted to give you an update on how we’re managing Xero Product Ideas, and our updates - In July last year we made a few changes that included new public statuses for ideas, and providing our customers more guidance on how to create a good idea.
We also now have our site "The Long and Short of It" which aims to keep users in the know of recent and upcoming changes, with filters to zone into updates that are most useful to you.
We're in a continuous process of interacting with product teams and updating ideas to provide more transparency of where we do and don't have development planned.

I guess it's there for when you want to assign different items to different customers, but it's a use case I never have. It would be nice if clicking "OK" defaulted to assigning the items as shown in the UI, or at the very least notifying the user that they're leaving the interface without having made any changes.

Aah I see what you mean now, and appreciate you sharing more detail, Anna.
In terms of the original idea, you can reply directly to the email update you received about the status if there is extra detail you'd like to share with the team - In this case I've merged your original idea with this one to keep the information all together.
We don't have immediate plans for this, but will keep considering how we improve their efficiency when engaging and sharing feedback. We'll track the support here and share if there are any updates. Thanks

Thank community, we appreciate all your involvement on this idea. We understand the ability to bulk export or print attached files would be a huge time-saver, especially for year-end audits, client communication, and general record-keeping.
We’ve evaluated the complexity of this feature against other priorities on our roadmap. Atm, this isn't in our plans however we'd like to explore bulk downloading of files from Xero in the longer term. I'll share an update when we're able to give more attention to this, here.
For the meantime if this is essential for you right now, you may like to explore third-party integrations through our Xero app store which could meet your needs here.

This will become more important as Xero gets older, since there will be business that will naturally come to their end of life, with a need to archive all the data and close the Xero account. I am in that situation now.

I’m trying to record purchase of shares nominally values at less than 0.00001. This appears to be impossible, it’s tedious to have to work-around.
