We appreciate everyone that's contributed here. Needs in more incremental permissions for bank accounts, have been clearly highlighted in your feedback - from protecting the confidentiality of payroll information to securely delegating reconciliation tasks for specific accounts.
Leaning in from our last update, our product teams have conducted lots of research of existing user roles, to highlight the most critical areas work is needed to power up our customers use of Xero.
Reporting and inventory are our first areas of priority, and you may have seen recent updates across ideas for these areas.
Permissions to bank accounts is another area that stood out in our research, but has more dependencies and will take longer to develop.
We'll keep you updated as our journey with roles and permissions evolve and there's more in the space of banking to share with you all.

Hi Kelly,
I didn't even know that there was a broader feature request until Luke's comment below. However, I am appalled to see that the "User Role - Allow users access to specific reports" is "In development" with 293 votes (at the time of writing).
This feature request has 590 votes (at the time of writing), but is only under review!
How are our votes being taken into consideration? What can we as a community do to display our need for this feature, because it doesn't appear to be voting...An error occurred while saving the comment

This is still key. Varying levels of seniority in the finance team, dictate the bank accounts that the employee should be viewing and reconciling. Instead, we have the entire finance team, able to see all bank accounts, seeing sensitive transactions. These are transactions they don't even have any idea how to reconcile anyway!

This is still a crucial aspect my company would love to see added. Restrict users to view particular bank accounts and only be able to reconcile the accessible bank accounts transactions.
If there is a transfer between bank accounts, then they can only reconcile the side that they can see. I am sure it could be more complicated than that, but that would be the fundamental starting point for us!

This really needs to be added. I have bank accounts that access to is not required for the accounts team, only for owners and directors. I want to restrict access to viewing specific banks and their transactions to the bank accounts I allow. If there is a transaction to a bank account they cannot view, they can complete one side of the reconciliation, and I, with access to the hidden bank account, can reconcile the other side of the transfer.

Hey everyone, thanks for all your feedback on displaying leave balances in days on payslips. We recognise that many of you are keen to see this feature.
Our product team has reviewed this suggestion. While we understand the value it'd bring, it isn't on our foreseeable roadmap. As a result, we're updating the status of this idea to 'Not in Pipeline'.
We're keeping this idea open for votes to help us gauge its popularity when we next review our payroll priorities. We appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts with us.🙂

Was considering using Xero payroll, but this is such a hinderance to staff understanding their remaining leave, it is no longer something I am considering. Really sad that such a UX item, hinders the entire feature :(

This would be great, but as it is such a niche area, would be interested in the ideas people have for managing this in their Xero set ups.

Hi community, we acknowledge the strong feelings in this idea and why you need a feature to flag bills directly within Xero. We really appreciate all your feedback and the detailed explanations of how this would help streamline your accounts payable.
We are dedicated to providing a solution for this over the longer term, but this will take some time requiring changes that sit beneath the face of bills.
In lieu of a direct feature for this we wanted to highlight some of the options discussed by the community here:
- Add a note to the bill: A detailed note on the bill itself can serve as a clear internal reminder of the dispute.
- Utilise tracking categories: Creating a specific tracking category like "Disputed Bills" can help you filter and report on these items.
- Adjust the due date: Temporarily extending the due date can prevent accidental payment while the dispute is…

This would be great to have, be able to use the @ symbol to search the users with access to that company and those who have the right level of access to view the note where the tag is to be placed. This would be great if once tagged, it notified the other user that there is something for their attention

Hi Paul,
That did indeed bring a smile to my face this morning! It does feel incredulous that inventory is taking a high priority than the security of connected bank accounts...
