Appreciate where you're coming from with this idea, Kirsty.
Right now you could create a Contact Group, and have each related contact assigned to that contact group. Get what you're saying with the efficiency when having most of the same details - for now perhaps importing via csv would help create these in less time.
We also have an idea for the ability to copy a contact, and another for contact group statements that you might like to join and follow.
We'll start to get a feel of the interest for this type of feature here, and I'll let you know if there's any change planned.

Hi Bradley, have you tried archiving and restoring contacts from the Contacts list? From here simply select the contact/s you'd like to archive and you'll see the option at the top of the list turn blue for you to click.
When you'd like to restore a contact you'll find the Archive tab as an option from this same screen, where you can click on the contact to open it's record and there is a blue Restore option in the top right.

Hi Matthew, this isn't automated however you can manually upload an attachment of the contacts statement to their record for this purpose.

Hi Brian, appreciate it's not a direct filter option like you're asking here however if you often need to filter by say country or another aspect of your Contact perhaps you may consider creating Contact groups? This way you'd be able to click on the group within contacts when you need.
Being open we don't have any direct plans for adding more filtering to the Contact list atm, but we'll continue to track your idea here and share if there are any plans made.

Hi Liew, thanks for raising this. We can see how having a dedicated field for e-invoicing IDs on a contact would make things easier, especially when you're managing different ID types and need a quick way to reference them.
At the moment, you can enter specific IDs like the BRN, but there’s no option to add a custom or more general ID type.
This idea’s now in the Gaining Support stage. Your input helps us get a better sense of how useful this would be across the wider Xero community, and feeds into how we prioritise updates. We’ll share more here when there’s progress.

Thanks for sharing your idea about how you'd like the "You Owe" and "They Owe" columns to be the other way around.
It's worth noting that the current orientation matches the Spent/Received columns in the Reconcile tab of the bank account. You might like to raise a separate product idea if you'd also like a similar change there (or maybe an option to swap the columns around).
In the meantime, we've reviewed your idea and now it's up to the community to get behind and support it. Make sure you share this idea with any colleagues that this could also benefit, so they can add their votes and comments too!

Thanks for your feedback on being able to pay invoices and bills directly from the contact page.
This isn’t something that’s on our current roadmap for invoicing, bills or payments. Right now we’re focused on other improvements in these areas, so there’s no planned work or timeframe we can share for adding a bulk “pay / receive payment” option from the contact view ⭐
If this changes and the idea moves onto the roadmap, we’ll post an update on the Product Ideas page first so you can follow along:

Hi Emma , thanks for sharing your feedback and idea. For tracking payable transactions (bills) by contact, we suggest using the Supplier Bill Activity Report or filtering the Account Transactions Report by contact and payable invoices. If you require setup assistance, please raise a case with our support team for guidance.Regarding the 'last active/used date' feature: This functionality is not currently available in Xero. We have moved your idea to the Gaining Support section. We encourage you to share this idea with others to help build traction for its development.

Thanks for your suggestion about reporting on the quantity of items sold per contact or contact group over a given period (rather than just the total dollar value). At the moment, Xero doesn’t have a specific report that shows “item quantity by contact or contact group”, and this isn’t on our current roadmap for inventory or reporting. Today, some customers approximate this using the Receivable Invoice Details report or Sales by Item report with filters and external pivots, but we know that’s not as simple as having a dedicated report.
This idea is still open for votes and If this work does move onto the roadmap in future, we’ll post an update on this idea.
