    Hi team, thank you for sharing how this feature could improve your use of Quotes in Xero.

    While it takes a little work in setup, you could currently use an advanced branding theme and make changes to the docx template to remove fields you don't want shown to the customer.

    Being open this isn't something we have direct plans for developing right now, however we'll continue to track the appetite her and share if there are any updates.

    Great to see that my idea has been merged with this one - I received an email mentioning this was so they could be considered together, which feels like a really positive step.

    Fingers crossed they will start to actively review, as I genuinely believe it could be beneficial for everyone and add real value to Xero if taken forward.

    Currently, Xero Quotes does not seem to provide a way to group related line items under a single heading while maintaining a clear and customer-friendly layout.

    In practice, many quotes are made up of multiple components (for example, materials, labour, and equipment), where each section includes several individual cost items. While this level of detail is important internally for pricing accuracy and cost tracking, displaying every line item to the customer can make quotes appear cluttered and harder to understand.

    **Suggested improvement:**

    Introduce a grouped or “folder-style” structure within quotes, allowing:

    * A main line item (e.g. “Materials – £1,000”) to act as a group header
    * Individual items (e.g. fibre, trays, tie wraps, junction boxes) to sit within that group
    * The group total to automatically calculate from the underlying items
    * Only the main group line to be visible to the customer by default
    * The option to show or hide the detailed breakdown for the customer when required
    * The detailed breakdown to remain visible internally for reporting and audit purposes
    * The ability for this structure (and visibility settings) to carry through to invoicing
    * Multiple groups to be used within the same quote

    **Impact:**

    * Cleaner, more professional quotes for customers
    * Retains detailed internal cost breakdowns without manual workarounds
    * Better aligns Xero Quotes with real-world quoting workflows

    **Example:**

    Materials – £1,000

    * Fibre £750
    * Trays £200
    * Tie wraps £15
    * Junction boxes £35

    Customer view: Materials – £1,000
    Internal view: full breakdown

    This functionality would significantly improve both the presentation and accuracy of quotes, while removing the need for current formatting workarounds.

    Hi community, we appreciate everyone's engagement here. To confirm we have intentions of developing the purchase order experience, however developing Projects into this does have some complexities and requires work across both purchase orders and projects to deliver.

    Right now our initial focus is releasing the new purchase order experience to all users.

    While we don't have a timeframe for assigning PO's to Projects at this stage, this is top of our product teams radar and we'll communicate here as soon as there's an update.
