Hi everyone, I want to assure you your voice is heard here and feedback is being shared back with our product teams.
We understand the desire to get this idea moving along and as mentioned in our last update we know this is an area that more controls and permissions would be most beneficial to our customers.
We’d like to share progress that we’re making for banking permissions - Work to provide more controls of sensitive banking information has started and will initially include the ability to restrict users from seeing sensitive banking information such as; account balances, bank transactions, and financial summaries.
We know this doesn’t relieve all pain points of this idea - It’ll be the first phase, a stepping stone of sorts in the development of per-bank controls.
As development continues we’ll share further updates as soon as they’re available with you all here.
Thank you for…

Hi team, the Payable Invoice reports will generally help you zone into your top repeating suppliers and better view activity.
As suggested, if multiple contacts of a similar nature are being created merge may also help you manage these in your contacts list.
It'd be good to understand if there are other needs that this idea would help you with here - please do share any detail.

When cash coding transactions in the bank reconciliation, there is no option to process without creating a contact.
We do not want some transactions being visible to those who handle the PL & SL transactions. For example, our Directors are paid dividends outside of the payroll, and this is now showing as a contact with the transactions visible to all. This is confidential and should not automatically be set as a contact.
To be able to reconcile transactions outside of your ledgers is standard in the majority of most finance systems and needs to be an option within Xero.

I would like the ability to deselect Bank Accounts & Balances from the Standard user settings. This currently is defaulted to reconcile & edit statement lines, which means some users who need standard user access for other sections are able to see the bank feeds on their home page. If I down grade them to Invoice Only, they then cannot access the full functions needed for their role. Would also like Edit Settings to be optional on Standard User.

Hi community, our reporting team is actively testing how reports are grouped and accessed, and we'd like your feedback to help us design a better report grouping structure that supports role-based access in reporting.
How you can help: Complete a quick 15-min online activity to test how reports are grouped and accessed:
- Part 1: answer questions about the current report grouping
- Part 2: explores a new grouping and role-based report access
👉If you're interested, please use this link to get started.
We greatly appreciate your ongoing support & valuable input for the reporting team!
(If you’ve already taken this activity, there's no need to do it again — our researchers may have contacted you earlier 😊)

The user permissions do need to be more granular. We have senior staff who need access to certain reports, but are not approved to see bank accounts or balances. When you select read only for the user it automatically includes the bank accounts and as this information can be confidential, it means we cannot give the correct access needed to those that need it. The bank should be optional on all users and not a default.
