Hi team, work for negative inventory is well in development and we really value all of your inputs here as we've picked into how we solve the needs of backorders in both the purchase and sales flows.
We look forward to being able to share more updates soon with detail of how this works within your Xero organisation. Thanks!

Hey community, we know how this feature would really help reduce manual work, make reconciliation smoother, and give you more confidence when processing your bills, and managing orders.
Some customers have shared a possible solution for the time being of using the bill’s reference field for the PO number. We know this isn’t perfect, but might help in the interim.
I’m pleased to share that we’re refreshing purchase orders at present, and taking on board all the feedback surrounding the top requests from our customers in these forums.
Linkage between Purchase orders and Bills is a high focus for our team in this space. While we can’t give timelines atm, we’ll move the idea to In discovery and keep you updated as work progresses. 😊

Thanks for the response and continued support in this idea, everyone.
Work for partial billing of a purchase orders is taking shape. ✨
To give a taster of what this'll look like - when you create a bill from a purchase order you'll be able to enter the amounts of each item you'd like to bill, and your Approved purchase order will show the amount of each item Billed.
I'll come back to share as soon as the feature begins roll out!

Hi team, thanks for staying engaged with us here. From your feedback our product teams clearly understand there are legitimate use cases and scenarios in which you’d like to be able to simply unapprove a bill.
While seemingly simple there is a bit of underlying work that needs to be done within Bills to enable us to build this functionality - As you’ll have experienced within the Bills list view - we’re in the process of uplifting the pages in Bills with updated technology that’ll unlock our ability to develop features like unapprove.
So, while it’s not in our roadmap atm, we’re tuned in here and will continue to assess how we may solve this as we plan our future roadmap. I’ll make sure to share any progress with everyone here.

Hi everyone, it's great to have the insights from your support and comments here. We understand how sending overdue statements would help in cashflows and reduce steps in following up on the most important payments from customers.
We appreciate the needs you've shared and want you to know this is high on our teams radar. While it's not on the roadmap just yet, this is something we'd like to address and the team have done some initial discovery of.
We'll be sure to share further updates on this with you all, here.

Hi community, we understand how being able to send quote reminders like you can for invoices, would help with following up on uncommitted work with your customers and potentially locking in sales.
For the time being, as many will be aware you can resend a quote that’s already been sent, by clicking the 3 dot menu in the top right and choosing ‘Send’, where you’ll have the option to change the email and who it’s being addressed to.
This is something we have intentions of diving into discovery for this year and I’ll return to share more news when things progress. Thanks

Hi community, we thank you for your feedback on the value of being able to flag a Sales invoice as in dispute. We know a clear way to mark these invoices would be helpful.
Similarly to our update for Supplier invoices there are a few options you may want to consider to currently highlight Sales invoices in this situation;
- Add a note to the invoice to serve as a clear internal reminder of the dispute.
- Utilise tracking categories: Creating a specific tracking category like "Disputed Invoices" can help you filter and report on these items.
- Update the reference to add a notation such as [reference number] - 'In dispute'
While we know these aren't perfect solutions, we hope these may help some in the conversation right now.
We appreciate your enthusiasm for this feature, and we want to be transparent about where it stands, and this is an idea that…

Hi everyone, we’ve taken time to review the suggestion to include custom fields for both invoices and contacts, and recognise the value it'd bring in helping users capture more detailed information and avoid manual processes.
However, with other focuses drawing the teams attention such as multiple addresses this idea is not on our current development roadmap.
As we continue to plan future roadmaps, being highly supported this idea will continue to be considered, however we want to be open about it's current position with you all here. We appreciate you sharing your feedback and for your ongoing participation in the Xero community. Any changes to this status will be shared with everyone on this idea.

Thanks for raising and supporting the idea here, community. Being open this isn't something we're looking to develop into Quotes for the time being. However, if needed you could have two branding themes, with a different Quote template: one for the quote itself, and one for a packing slip.
You could then edit the quote, and switch the branding theme to the one you want to send out.

This request is critical from both an operational and audit compliance perspective.
Currently, the suggested workaround is to generate a packing slip only after the quote has been converted to invoice. However, this creates significant audit trail and process control issues.
In many warehouse enviroments, packing slips may be printed days or even weeks before goods are physically picked and dispatched. This means the invoice is technically raised prior to dispatch, resulting in:
- invoices existing in Xero that are not yet ready to be sent to customers
- incorrect dispatch/delivery dates being recorded
- reliance on manual staff memory to later amend dates
- increased risk of human error and inconsistent audit records
- difficulty providing auditiors with accurate warehouse picking and dispatch evidence
Once an invoice is created, it cannot be reversed purely to maintain an accurate packing workflow without impacting financial and audit integrity.
A dedicated picking slip/pick pack list available directly from the quotes stage (post-approval) would resolve this issue and provide a far more compliant and operationally accurate workflow for warehouse and audit processes.
Please listen to the feedback from the community. This is highly requested.
