  1. Hi Xero Team,

    I’d love to suggest a feature that would really improve efficiency when invoicing clients with recurring or frequent billing.

    In QuickBooks, when selecting a contact on an invoice, it would show a quick reference of that client’s last 5 invoice amounts. This helped a lot with ensuring consistency in recurring invoices, especially when amounts vary slightly month-to-month.

    In Xero, the “Add Last Item” toggle doesn’t quite solve this, since many clients have more than one invoice per month — so it may not reflect the most relevant or recent invoice for the context.

  2. Despite several separate requests on this forum, New Invoicing's email still begins with an invoice summary, unlike Classic Invoicing.

    For us, relationship and communication are more important than asking for payment so Classic Invoicing's email is perfectly set up with our message first and the invoice following.

    New Invoicing's email reverses this with the money part writ large at the top.

    Andrew Chadwick described it better than I can in the post linked below. The idea has been marked as Delivered but, respectfully, it hasn't been. His and my points still stand.

  3. Xero to xero network - send purchase orders. Want to be able to send my regular supplier a Xero Purchase order via Xero network, who can then create a bill in their Xero, who can then send me their Invoice via Xero network. Would be super helpful given the start of the workflow is typically the purchase order.

    Thanks for your idea, Paul. Great to hear you find using the Xero network helpful in your workflow.

    We'll gauge the interest from the community in expanding the use of the network to send purchase orders. This isn't something we have plans for at this stage but we'll let you know if there are any updates.

  4. When you go to add a bill it does not give option to upload.

    Can shortcut keys not go on top to show add new bill upload new bill? it would be much handier

  5. The "Review and pay" banner misleads recipients into thinking they can make electronic payments, but we're not using e-invoicing and have it turned off. Another major issue is that it causes significant delays in loading or, in some cases, renders the invoice completely inaccessible. The banner in the new invoicing should be named "Review" rather than "Review and pay" or be editable to suit different needs.

For volume based businesses, we lose money (30c per transaction) on the stripe fee we pay vs what we can pass onto the customer (because there's no option currently to just pass on the full fee, just a %). That % can't legally be higher than what we are charged, and we can't add the 30c fee to the % anywhere in settings. When we're processing 1,000 transactions per month, we lose $300 to fees.   9. Hi Xero Team , Kindly find attached file for your reference. I am sharing video file and screenshot that feature very useful for all user and copy above cell during invoice and bill generate. I am suggesting to IT team if they unlock drag and drop copy cell from above cell from mouse that feature would be very appreciated and may help to all user to easy invoicing and bill that help to time saving while enter multiple similar details in invoice or bill.   11. New Invoicing Autosave function - Does not work in Edit Mode

    When you create a new invoice the autosave function is there.
    However, if you approve an invoice and then try to edit it, then the autosave is not there and you must manually click update.
    Can you please make this feature more consistent. Either everything is autosave or not autosave. Having some aspects will create confusion and lost data

    Hi all, we appreciate the interest and hearing how you find autosave a useful feature when invoicing. At this stage, we don’t have any plans to roll out autosave to the editing of an invoice once it’s been approved. 

    We’ve made some recent improvements to autosave within the draft state of an invoice that we wanted to share with you - Our product team has optimised how invoices autosave to help reduce the lag, meaning invoices load and save faster. Thanks again for your feedback.

  12. Quote- Multiple formatting options in the "Summary" section.

    In the service delivery business the quotation is also your proposal. Having the ability to use bulleting or numbering as well as bold text or underlining would greatly improve the look and feel of your proposal when the "Summary" section is used to describe and summarize the work or project you are quoting on.

  14. It's good to see you have extended the period before removing classic invoicing because I still need to revert to classic for certain features that are missing from the new system, namely:

    1. The ability to copy invoices to Bills and PO's - this is an important feature that I use regularly
    2. Send invoices via Xero network - again this is a feature that has been useful especially for invoicing between subsidiaries.
    3. Save and continue feature, I don't like the auto save feature because it continues to update the history and notes while I am still adding details to the invoice…

When I am logged-in to Xero as a user with "Invoice only" and "only create drafts" permissions, it is my understanding that this user should not be able to create new invoice items or see menu options for creating new items. However, it appears this user can see this menu option when adding a line item to an invoice and attempt to create a new item, leading to an ambiguous error message.

  17. Xero made a lot of noise about how good the 'new invoicing' feature would be. Users gave plenty of feedback early on when new invoicing was optional, both in comments and by not switching over to new invoicing. Xero proceeded with the change seemingly unaware of the negative mood amongst users to the new invoicing feature.

    The product ideas section show, only in it's first 5 pages, 43 product ideas about new invoicing. Many of these product ideas are requests for previously available features to be made available again. Many of the ideas are under consideration or being worked on.

    Appreciate your feedback, Martin. I can assure you throughout the build of new invoicing we have engaged and tested out features with many different users. To keep customers informed throughout we have shared blog posts and regularly update our Xero Central page with what's been delivered and what's to come.

    Being such a widely used feature, we have focused on features that suit majority of our customers needs. We appreciate some customers still want to see more development and we are continuing to enhance this new invoicing experience.

    Our products teams have conducted lots of research and testing to refine deliveries, and Xero Product Ideas here is another great way for us to understand what matters most to our customers - As you noted, we are listening and keeping users updated as developments progress with the status updates.

  18. We have a large project with countless numbers of invoices assigned to the project. I would like an option to be able to "mark all untracked expenses as invoiced" so that we can see what has already been invoiced to the client and so that we can work out more accurate profitability figures. At present, each individual invoice needs to be marked off separately and this can take hours to mark them all off, particularly if the project is large.

  19. It would make sense to rename "Mileage Claim" to "Trip KM's" or something like that.
    There are only 3 countries around the world that officially still use the IMPERIAL system (Miles). United States, Liberia, and Myanmar.
    It's a term that doesn't come naturally to the rest of the world.
    In the back of my mind, I feel that I need to do a "KM's to Miles" conversion calculation, for every trip entry. Even though I know that's not necessary.
