Bills - View bills awaiting payment without a planned payment date
Ability to easily see which bills have not been scheduled for payment.
There are tabs for each date that payments have been scheduled. An "unscheduled" tab would be useful, showing bills awaiting payment without a planned payment date.
Will save users time having to sort the bills by planned date to see which ones need scheduling.
50 votesHi Tina, just thinking in lieu of this feature atm - To help get a view of bills that don't have an assigned planned date you can click the Planned date header to sort all bills by planned date and this will also group all bills with no planned date. 🙂

Cash Flow - Include future dated paid invoices
The cash flow currently picks up bills to be paid on a specific date in the cash flow but if you set up a payment in advance and mark as paid in Xero, the bill disappears all together from the cash flow.
The manual workaround is to "Add upcoming money in or out" but I would have expected Xero to pick them up as payments already set up on the bank account.

Reports - Reduce empty spaces
Custom reports- why there such a large gap of blank wasted space between the account names and the first column!! We create month x month reports ie 12 months of columns wide, so it is very frustrating when you create a PDF with all those columns on it and there is that great wasted space before the first column!!!

Conversion balances - Add a field for notes/description
It would be really helpful if there was a way of adding a description/note to conversion balances. For example, if a creditor balance relates to a specific loan, it would be useful to be able to note this somewhere. Currently, reports only show 'conversion balance' as the description for the transaction and it isn't possible to add a description to the conversion journal. It makes it difficult to keep track of historic debtors and creditors and this information needs to be kept elsewhere, duplicating work.

Payroll Audit Trail - Posting of email payslips
Can we have an audit trail, even if similar to invoices/bills, where we can see the who, date & time of the payslips being sent out for a pay calendar?
This helps to know the payslips have been sent out and that there is an audit trail for this.30 votes -
Bank Feed - Don't remove duplicate statement lines
Xero should auto import all the transactions from the bank feeds even if it appears to be double entries of the same transaction. For example Toll fees with the same amount on the same day are only imported once into xero although all the transactions are on the bank's online profile.

Invoice template - Ability to add Invoice Balance Forward
When printing an invoice I would like to go to the customer's account and bring forward the balance that is on their account.
And have this balance on a line above the net amount for this invoice, which would then add the gross amount to the brought forward value and have aline below the gross amount of the invoice, showing the total amount that they owe to date including this invoice.28 votes -

AU Payroll - Allow non employees to submit timesheets through web and Xero Me
Create timesheet availability to Contractors set up in Xero payroll as Non employee.
Currently this is only available to employees.Require the ability to process timesheets to pay Subcontractors for hours worked on site so Super is taken into account but PAYG is not applicable.
Currently not available to STP2 category Contractor 'Non Employees'22 votes -
Business Snapshot - Ability to show monthly and quarterly comparatives
In the Business Snapshot all of the comparatives are to previous year. In a startup this isn't meaningful as prior year balances are nil, but month-to-month or quarter-to-quarter comparatives would be super useful. In established businesses also, monthly and quarterly comparatives can be very useful.

General Ledger - Ability to consolidate depreciation per asset category
Consolidate Depreciation posted to GL per asset category - currently my deprecation is reflecting per asset in the GL expense account. The Asset Register and Depreciation Schedule already serve the purpose of the per line item amount and basis for a reconciliation. Duplicating the detail adds a large amount of data into my GL ,especially when the asset base starts to grow. Please can it rather be consolidated in the GL per asset category per month ?

Manual Journal - Copy line above
Manual Journal - Copy details from line above- this is a tool in Sage so please could you consider it? :) it's a nifty action & allows a one click solution to repeat account & tracking categories and is especially useful for large entries such as payroll journals.
10 votesAppreciate you raising your idea here, Anne. We'll begin to track the interest.
For now, if you have large journals you need to enter you may want to explore importing journals.

Invoice and Bills - Include mandatory Reference Number Field
Currently you can add a bill / invoice without adding a invoice number or just typing a word or anything - example our debtors lady invoiced (Receivable invoice) a client and overwrited the invoice number (reference) to "Diesel R/Bay" so the invoice had no invoice number

Chart of Accounts - Ability to remap accounts in bulk
I would like to be able to have a remapping feature (similar to find and recode) but on a bulk stage. It is common that a business operation changes and the previous COA is no longer fit for purpose and updates are needed.
This can be done by having a feature that presents the COA with a current a proposed column. The proposed is automatically mapped to the current if no answer is added. In the proposed there is a drop down item that allows you to remap all historical transactions to a different account or remap.

Bank reconciliation - Increase area for description when reconciling
It would be useful if the cell size was bigger when entering a Spend Money or Receive Money transaction. The area to type in is only two thirds the size of the cell in the Description box which restricts the amount of information visible. Only two lines of text are visible at a time.

AU Payroll | Timesheet - Update time in lieu balance
The current option available for updating the time in lieu of XERO is to previously inform the fixed number of hours that will be added to the leave balance in the leave register. However, the number of hours varies each week, so I cannot predict in advance how many hours each employee will work.
My suggestion includes an automatic update from the time in lieu of using a timesheet. Thus reducing the probability of errors by entering the balance manually.

Xero UI - Unify date selectors
At a quick count there at least three different date selectors used in Xero. This makes it clunky for users and some date selectors are functionally outdated. Examples, the date selector used in Invoices (best) vs the one used in Reports (worst) vs the one used in Leave.
Use the same date selector(s) across the entire product. One that allows for:
- Keyboard entry of date(s), multiple formats eg 23/08/23 as well as 23 Aug 2023 (Invoices does this)
- Shortcuts like 'This financial year' etc - where applicable
- Quick year jumps (unlike the date selector in Reports -…3 votes -
Inventory - History and Notes to show the PO's that make up the Quantity on order
When you look at an inventory item, it shows that you have that item on order, but it doesn't show you in the history and notes, what PO that the item is ordered on. All it shows in the history is the Bill's and the invoices.
IT needs to show in the history the PO that the goods on order are ordered on.
