  1. Transaction/summary report for suppliers but showing history in aged format, to be able to report on what we;ve spent with a supplier for the last 12 months - Each month!

    Xero really need to look at producing a report generator like sage had, so we can create any report we need.

  2. If you enter a duplicate supplier invoice via an email link into Xero bills, then Xero should advise/warn you that there is already an invoice in the system with the same reference/ amount. There should be the same warning that is given when a duplicate invoice is loaded into Xero bills manually.

    Hi team, pleased to share that duplicate detection has now been released and available to you all. Xero will compare the Contact, reference and amounts of bills and credit notes in your org to help identify possible duplicates. You can then go to the Review page to take action on any Unpaid bills (Draft or Awaiting Payment).

    While Paid bills will also be picked up, if you need to take any action or view bills you'll just want to return to the bills list to access these.

    If this is the common selection for due date you can set this up as a Default in your Invoice Settings, Denise. It's also possible to set this up as a default for individual contacts if you'd prefer too. 🙂

    Alternatively, you might find it handy to use the shortcut when entering your invoices. You can simply type +10 in the due date field and it will set the date to 10 days after the Invoice Issue date.

    Hi community, we've now released the ability to attach a file to a Fixed Asset to all organisations using the new FA's experience. As mentioned in my last update, the 'Attach files' option is found at the top right when editing an individual asset. You can either select to Upload files from your device or files library, or simply drag & drop files to the upload modal.😊

    We appreciate there are some Australian businesses using pools that are still on the older Fixed Assets experience and won't have access to the Attach files' feature atm. While we complete work to help move you all to the new experience I've created a new idea. Add your vote to stay updated.

  5. Feedback on the Updated Email Invoice Template: Prioritising Client Experience Over Financial Details

    As a business owner wholly committed to providing exceptional customer service, I've encountered significant issues with the new email invoice template that I believe warrant urgent attention from the Product Team.

    1. Focus on Experience, Not Payments: Our aim is to immerse our clients in a seamless service experience. By prominently featuring payment details in the email, it inadvertently shifts the client's focus from the quality of service to financial transactions. Clients should have the option to review detailed financials at their discretion by accessing the invoice themselves.

  6. When typing a quote, available stock used to show (when you typed a figure in the "quantity" field (if available stock was less than required the open window would turn red) but it doesn't now. It would be great if this feature were also added to invoices (and quotations as before) so that one didn't need to check stock on a different page for each item being invoiced. I note that it shows when typing a credit note, so it must be possible!

  7. New Invoicing: In the classic invoicing, I can click in the discount area and the discount set in a customer's profile is automatically entered. I don't want to have to go in and look up each customer's discount every time I create an invoice. In the new invoicing, when I click in there it just waits for me to type something in.

    Hi team, from new invoicing once you add a contact any sales defaults you have saved will be applied. Simply enter a Qty or Price and the discount saved for that contact will be applied.

    If you're not seeing the discount column on your invoice, click the show/hide fields on the left above the invoice body and make sure this has been selected.

  8. The new Bill view has lost the ability to highlight a certain bill when you tick the box next to it. In the old version if you ticked the box that bill would remain highlighted in grey so it was easy visually to know which bill you're currently working on. This has stopped since the new Bills view has come in. Any chance to can add it back? In the attached screen shot you can see a bill has been ticked but it remains white like all the others in the list.

  9. Would be great to be able to turn off online payments for specific customers.
    Would also be good to be able to choose which online payment methods we accept or dont accept rather than currently having to take them all or nothing.

  10. I would like to request the Xero add the feature to be able to approve and send customer invoices even when they have reached there credit limit in the new invoicing. Currently this feature is available in the classic invoicing of Xero. Xero are forcing everyone to move to the new invoicing from September 2024.
    We use an external software for our customer invoicing and then import these into xero the following day after the sale has occurred and email the invoices to the customer. Moving to new invoicing currently means that for any customer that is over the credit…

  11. Ability to have the tax amount show on each line item and not just in the total below or even better so that sales tax automatically shows within the line item amount as per on screen, but when Printed to PDF it shows no Tax amounts per line.

    Hi team, returning to the idea. To confirm, with standard branding you can simply choose whether the amounts shown on your invoices to customers are tax inclusive or tax exclusive.

    In terms of default tax the Tax Amount column that can be shown on the invoice within Xero - it's possible to use an advanced branding theme and customise the DocX template to add the TaxOnLineAmount merge field to make this visible to your customer. If you'd prefer to not show Tax Rate or Tax name you can also use the advanced branding template to customise and remove these fields.

  12. When I was paying just GST, I could file my tax return directly to the IRD from XERO. I am now paying GAP (GST and Provisional Tax) and no longer get the option to file my GST return directly from XERO - I can only file it manually, which is obviously much more time consuming. XERO, can you please make changes to your setup so that GAP payments can be filed with the NZ IRD straight from XERO. Thank you.

  13. HOLIDAY ACCRUAL SHOULDN'T TAKE A MONTH TO RESET
    We have holiday entitlement to reset on the 1st of April each year, however, the holidays don't reset until the 1st of May and after April's pay run.
    Please vote for all holiday balances to reset on the actual anniversary date.

    Hi everyone, we're pleased to update you that these changes have been released in UK Payroll! 🎉 This includes the ability to set employee's leave to accrue based on a custom date of your choosing. Additionally, we've released changes based on the feedback here so that leave will now accrue on the first day of your annual accrual method.

  14. My suggestions is that automated super should be available if a Xero package offers payroll, like the starter package and the Standard package - its near impossible for clients to make direct super payments for employees (even for business owners themselves) without using this feature.

    With the increases in subscriptions occurring in September I think an upgrade with automated super should be tabled for the lower subscription packages.

  15. In Classic Invoicing, you could copy an invoice to all sorts of things: Invoice, Quote, Purchase Order, Bill. See first screenshot.
    In New Invoicing, you can only copy an invoice to another draft invoice. See second screenshot.
    Please can you replicate the 'Copy invoice to a quote' functionality in New Invoicing?

    Hi team, back again to let everyone know that the recent changes in Bank Reconciliation page have now been rolled out to 100% of users. 🎉

    As mentioned in my last update this includes a bar at the top of the page so you can search and filter statement lines based on your preferred criteria, and the options to the right side of the Search enable you to set a date or amount range to help filter down your view.😁 You now also have the ability to view up to 50 unreconciled statement lines on one page - See our blog for more recent updates

  17. Edited Leave request date sends a notification to the employee for the wrong date. We recently had an employee request an RDO for 19/07/2024. After discussion with the employee this date was not suitable because the employee was due to provide training to a customer this date so we agreed to change the date to the following week (26/07/2024).

    I then edited the leave request to be for the 26/07/2024 and approved the request.

    The employee received an email notification that their request for leave on the 19/07/2024 was approved!

    The employee then contacted me because they were confused and…

    Thanks for raising this, Chris and apologies we haven't responded sooner. This was an issue that our product team picked up and I can confirm we released a fix so the date will now show correctly.

    Hi Kelly, you can add this information using an advanced branding theme and customising the template in MS Word.

    For example you could add a text box with these delivery instructions, add your logo and make any other changes you'd like, before saving the file and uploading it back into your branding theme in Xero.

    When creating purchase orders you'd then select this branding.

  19. When paying a supplier bill, there should be a back button to get back to the same supplier to continue paying more of that suppliers outstanding bills due for payment once a payment has been made. Currently once you have paid a single bill for a supplier, you have to go back to the bills page and search for another bill or search for the supplier again, it takes twice as long as it should and makes more room for error (our company like many others i would guess need to check each bill against the products we ordered with…

    Hi team, appreciate the interest and sharing your idea in the forums here. We recently released enhancements to the Bills quick view (eye icon) from the list of bills. You'll find you can now edit and make payments on bills from the quick view without having to leave your list of bills. Meaning you can jump from one bill to the next with ease!

  20. Please include the functionality of classic invoicing which allows Xero to suggest email addresses based on your previous contacts used. This is a key time saving feature in our workflow and one of only a few reasons we cannot transition over.     Hi team, sorry we didn't return to update you on the deliver of being able to keep the contact when copying an invoice with new invoicing.

    This was released a couple of weeks ago. Now when you copy an invoice to a new draft invoice you'll get the option to keep the same contact.

    It;s worth noting that while the contacts details will follow through to the new invoice for sending purposes. Defaults are not automatically applied - So, if you'd like contact defaults to be applied to the new invoice you'll need to remove the contact and then re-add in the new draft invoice.
