  2. When Bank or Superannuation details are changed for an employee, Xero sends an alert to the Admin/Account owner of the account. The employee details who have changed should also be sent an email alert.

  3. UK. We employ temporary staff who do not accrue leave while taking paid leave they have previously accrued. The only way to reflect this in Xero is to manually adjust the leave balance. I would like to be able to add a pay item of paid leave that does not accrue further leave.

  4. Recently, Xero implemented a security feature such that automatic superannuation can only be paid out of an account with bank feeds set up. This is not a problem for businesses whose automatic super was set up prior to the change, or whose bank account is with a banking service which allows for easily set up bank feeds not subject to disruptions.

    However, businesses who need to pay super from accounts that aren't so easy to get bank feeds for are kinda screwed.

  6. Please make it harder for employees to accidently create their own Xero account. Most employees can handle accepting the invite to Xero Me but a lot seem to be able to set up their own Xero instead and then when they try to login to the employer Xero, their email address is already linked to another account. If they have been sent an invite from Xero they shouldn't be able to create their own Xero with that address.   8. Employer pension contributions for employees on SMP should be calculated on the employee's earnings before they went on leave, not on the reduced rate of 90%. Xero's calculation is currently on the latter with no option to overwrite. The correct calculation would be first choice, but the option to change figures would be helpful also

    Hi everyone👋, thanks for the idea and support here. To be open and upfront we don’t have any plans in the near term to expand this functionality.

    Right now, you can create an additional Employer Pensions pay item and add it to the employee's Pay Template. When the pay run is processed you'll be able to enter in the difference due, to ensure the total contributions equals the required value. If anything changes in this space, we’ll update you on this idea. 

  9. Bulk update Bank Statement text in Payslips
    Or we can set up Statement text as fixed for every employee rather than the default "WAGES" statement text in Xero

  10. department/tracking category for more than one group
    for example a horse stud has three departments 1. Farm. 2. Administration and the third being Horses. At the end of the payrun e.g Payroll Employee Summary Report, ideally need to show each department with the sub totals for each department Gross Tax Super and Net Payment with a YTD for the total of the departments

  11. With the payroll linking RTI with HMRC (UK), it would be really helpful if the pensions could do the same, not just with Scottish Widows but more providers.

    This would really streamline the whole payroll process and save so much time.

  12. It would be great if Xero could send an alert if a leave request has been submitted for a payroll period that has already been processed?
    This would apply in the situation that payroll was run early and then an employee took a day off in the period that was included in the payrun.

    Heya team, appreciate your feedback and sharing within Product Ideas, here. While a new version of this report has been released, we want to be open that there is no change to the employees that are shown. 'Inactive' employees will still be visible when selecting an employee when running this report.
    While it's not something we have plans for developing in the near future, we'll continue to watch the interest for this here and share if there's any change.

  15. Employee Pay Template - order of "Earnings type"
    It would be great to have the ability to reorder an employee's earnings types so that the most frequently used show first on the list when processing a pay run. At the moment, with the exception of Salary & Wages that defaults to the very top, all other "Earnings types" are listed alphabetically and there is no ability to change this order (drag & drop).

  17. Payroll functionality around multi day leave requests.

    A number of employees work 4 days , and xero divides the days into 5.
    The problem is when a leave request for lets say a day and half sick leave - they cannot manually enter 12 hours (8 +4) or 10.5 (7 + 3.5) unless they do Seperate Leave requests per day.
    I have a collegue doing 2 weeks of working 6 hours and taking 2 hours each day on annual leave. I ended up having to make his leave request because I am admin.

With employees on a salary contract for say 80K that compensate for extra hours each week (up to 57hrs) there is an issue with the current xero pay templates adding pay for every hour above 40hrs, as leave is calculated on number of hours worked. With these types of salaries it would be good to adjust the hours worked on each weekly payrun without it changing the payment amount but still changing the leave as per the award requirements. Currently the only way to handle this is creating a new payroll line item of "additional hours only contributing to leave"…

  19. Journal Entries, have the option to post the journal as either a bulk journal (which it currently is) or as individual transactions, so you can see a breakdown between each individual employee. This is will be useful if a client has medical benefit and needs to break this down between individual staff as they all pay different amounts.

  20. Australia has leave loading, which is a payment intended to compensate people for the lost opportunity to earn overtime that they would have if they weren't on leave. There are business-wide settings, but because not all employees are entitled to leave loading, you have to enable it for each employee in their individual settings.

    Currently, the tickbox to mark an employee as eligible for leave loading is down the very bottom of the Taxes tab in the employee card. It is very easy to miss, because logically all leave-related settings would be in the Leave tab. I would like this…
