  1. New holiday regulations from 1 January 2024 to commence from 1 April 2024. The new legislation from 1 April is only based on 4 weeks so it would appear the only option is to manually calculate the enhanced holiday pay.

    It would be good in time if it was possible in Xero Payroll to calculate the enhanced holiday on selected pay elements only such as overtime, bonuses, commission, etc.

    We use two other payroll software packages that allow this process of selecting specific elements to calculate the enhanced holiday so it is possible.

  2. An option to do a reversal of a current pay run as currently there is no option to allow this. I had a pay run today and the client had not let me know that there was a change to their pay run until after it had been lodged with the ATO. I subsequently went to the portal and found that both pay runs had been processed as was out to the actual amount in Xero.

  3. When you finish a pay run, the payslips and bills related to tax authorities are created like bills, but are not. You can view these faux bills as other bills, but you can't batch pay by cheque payslips nor will the bills sync with other softwares like a payables platform such as Plooto. This prevents the automated workflows created around bills from being used on pay runs.

  4. set the number of decimals places e.g. 2 so when Xero applies a award factor e.g. 1.5x award rate the results only displays to two decimals place in their pay.
    Awards are published to two decimals places that's all we are required to pay in Australia.
    Fixing the rounding wastes so much time.

  5. Have an option to include Draft Pay runs in the Pay History report.

    When working with clients, we want to send a custom report to them to show them the current pay run vs prior pay runs. We do this through exporting data in to excel and manipulating the data to run a report - but there is no way to do this without posting the pay run, running the report, and then reverting the pay run to draft.

  7. Australian Payroll - sick leave on payslip - want to show balance without accrual in the payrun, and to be able to do this after employment has commenced. Currently this is only possible if you allocate the full balance to employee's at the start of the employment. Historically this has not been done and it needs to be changed to avoid staff confusion and having to reset the leave each payrun.

  8. I would like to see a feature allowing my client to pay her contractors through direct deposit. She is currently using this simple feature in QBO. Once her contractor is set up with a W-9, she just enters the bank information and pays them bi-weekly with the click of a button. I am hoping to migrate her to Xero soon, but this is a sticking point for her along with one other feature that is not available in Xero yet - tracking mileage without the need for a 3rd party app.

  9. UK HMRC often carry out routine checks on compliance with PAYE and National Minimum Wage. In one NMW check we have been asked to provide them with a list of the names and NINOs of all staff employed by us between two specified dates. To make it easy they dont use tax years but calendar dates

    We need a standard payroll report that allows us to export a list with the employees name and NINO. The only way to create this at the moment is by a manual trawl

  10. It would be useful to have the sick leave anniversay and next entitlement date visible OR to be able to pull a reprot for this. As it stand, the current way to access this is very clunky. It needs to be automated.

  11. The ability for an employee to be able to enter the number of kilometres travelled each day. This number being able to filter through to the pay run so the employer can pay an allowance of cents per kilometre.

When adding opening balance of YTD gross salary, tax and superannuation from the processed payroll from other payroll software, in the employees, it should be also included in the total expense, liability respectively. Currently, it's not coming in P & L account or balance sheet. Pleasee rectify it.

  13. It will be very useful for reporting if we are able to change the layout of Timesheet Details from a week ending to fortnightly while also able to choose the start date and end date without the dates with zero hours.

  16. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE add an option to Payroll that allows employer expenses to be processed. The Union our company is a member of insists we pay as an employer expense into a redundancy program and also an income protection program for each employee. The Union demands that the payments are detailed on each employees payslip. We can only do this if we have an employer expense option. One of my clients in the United Kingdom uses the UK version of XERO and their version allows for this. Come on Australia, catch up!!!

  17. We get funding to pay for staffing overtime. Would be great if we could create a specific overtime to come out of this funding pot. Then we'd be able to see how the funding has been spent and provide evidence that we've used the money for extra staffing.

  18. Need the option to customise the tax years for the entities who don't have March 20XX balance date e.g. December balance date in financial settings.

    This still shows the annual certificate as at 31st March.

  20. AU Payroll: Retain Holiday Groups for multiple years.

    Queensland has many regional holidays depending on region & our employees are scattered across regions. While I can setup a regional Holiday Group that takes most of its holidays from the Qld state based group - this group survives only one year.

    Please create holiday groups that at least retain the base Qld state based holidays each year .... so the only addition required is to add in the 'show day' based on region.

    OR the ability to refresh the groups by re-emulating the Qld holidays once more & once per year.
