    Thanks for all sharing with us here. We understand you need visibility of employees leave for Payroll in the UK. 

    Currently our are working on a Leave Requests report, as a start to address some of these needs in this space, which'll be available to Payroll Admins. I'll keep you updated of when this is released, here. 

  2. At the moment this isn't an available feature, and HMRCs basic PAYE tools need to be used. It would be good to see this as an option in Xero.

    Hi everyone, we appreciate the needs of improving the visibility of your employees leave in Payroll for UK. Our team are looking to introduce a Leave Requests report that'll help address some of these needs. Once released this'll be available to Payroll Admins in your organisation.   4. It would be good if payroll reports could be customised, i.e. after making a change to an existing report, such as Gross To Net report, the new template could be saved as a Custom Report.

    At the moment, it isn't possible to save the updated format, so I have to make the same changes to the standard report every month.

  5. Could we include a notification when a staff member has a birthday? This has multiple benefits including allowing us to check if their award salary or benefits need to change and also be able to congratulate them on their birthday. Surely it wouldn't be a huge change to make but would be a unique and helpful change for many SME as I currently need to create a new Google calendar for staff birthdays, creating additional work especially when we have 50+ staff and low retention in hospitality. Thank you.

    Appreciate the interest through the idea, but want to be open that we don't have any development planned for adding reminders or notification of an employees birth date atm. 

    I see there are some supporters from NZ and UK in the idea here and wanted to point you across to these specific ideas for each region that I'd encourage adding your support for - Each version of Xero Payroll has been developed specifically for the that regions tax and reporting obligations and this would need to be developed for each version separately. Thanks

    Hey folks, thanks for the idea and support here. We appreciate all the valuable feedback and ideas shared regarding timesheet reminders ⏰
    We understand that the ability to easily remind employees to fill out timesheets would make things easier and save you time.
    Our product team is currently investigating potential solutions for this but at this early stage there are no specific time frames available. We’ll be sure to let you know if there’s any change, though!

  7. Having a 2nd person as a Super Authoriser would be helpful when the 1st person goes on leave.

  8. For permanent employees, all XERO business customers should be able to calculate their future leave balances. This will allow a business owner to know if they can approve the leave or not, or what conversation to have with a team member.

    I hope this idea is backed and implemented.

  9. We should be able to adjust the holiday year to the UK tax year as that seems to be very common. ( There is already a discussion topic for this but I cannot see it on this list.
    We should also be able to show holidays in days not hours.
    We should be able to calculate holiday hours for employees that do not do a 5 day week. The hours taken on holiday need to be overwritten every time a PT employee books time off.

    Hi everyone, thanks for your ongoing interest and support for this idea!

    We understand the needs surrounding being able to adjust the dates for your leave year, whether that be to shadow the UK tax year or otherwise.

    Our product team are excited to share that this is an area we are currently looking into developing. 

    Your feedback and ideas are extremely important to us. As such, we’d like to reach out to our valued community members to get involved in prototype testing, commencing later this month.

    The testing will involve using a prototype tool to assess the usability and functionality of our proposed changes to a customisable leave year. We would encourage users that feel strongly about the lack of this function to sign up and welcome users of all experience levels.

  10. When running employee leave transaction reports, it would be good for this report to also include employee unpaid leave, as presently this option is not available. The only way to run an unpaid leave report is to run a leave request report, export and edit as required. We have to submit reports to the ADMS for our apprentice claims, and a report including all leave is required.

  11. Employers are only required to pay superannuation guarantee up to a quarterly threshold (maximum contribution base). At the moment Xero doesn’t cap the super at this level, and will allow super above the cap to be booked. (In fact, to limit the super at the cap requires a work-around adding 2 lines, one with 0% super and another with the fixed amount up to the cap.). Employers can easily overpay their employees’ super. This functionality needs to be built into Xero.

  12. We need to know how much to provide for on the balance sheet for annual leave and long service leave each month and track these for our financial statements. All the information is available via Xero payroll (leave balances and pay rates for each employee as well as leave accrued and leave taken) but in order to account for this correctly we are expected to export reports and do the calculations ourselves. And we need to maintain external files to reconcile this to each month.

  13. An automatic monthly payroll tax report would be fantastic. I've noticed Xero cannot do an automatic calculation of Payroll Tax like MYOB can. MYOB allows you to select pay categories (pay items) to exclude and run a monthly payroll tax report.

    Thanks for sharing and supporting this idea - while I don't have an update specific to this one, I thought you might be interested in the following:

    Our AU Payroll team are testing some changes to Payroll reconciliation. The idea to have an automatic monthly payroll tax report is highly associated with payroll reconciliation and we feel that voters here would also have an interest in payroll reconciliation. They would love to hear from you!

    They’re aiming to conduct some 1 on 1 interviews between 6 Feb - 16 Feb 2024, the interviews will last 45 minutes.

    The purpose of the session: Participants will be asked to help with testing a prototype concept designed to enhance the AU payroll reconciliation process.

  18. When generating the Payroll Activity Summary report, it would be good if I could select certain employees.

  19. When a Pay Template has been created for an employee, only the matching Earnings Rate should be overwritten by entries in Timesheets. Any other Earnings Rates that are set up in the Pay Template should still should still be available in the Payslip - they shouldn't have to be added back in again when processing the pay run. For instance, Fares & Travel Pattern Allowance needs to be paid over and above the Ordinary Hours recorded on the Timesheet.   20. We cannot see/create leave liability in our reports and/or our balance sheet.
    I wonder how a true business value is going to be shown on balance sheet without this liability.

    To be frank and honest, it is not an idea, but quite basic necessity.
