AU Payroll: Set up second auto super authoriser
Having a 2nd person as a Super Authoriser would be helpful when the 1st person goes on leave.

More than one person should be able to process superannuation. At the moment only one person can process/ access super payments page. I know you can transfer access at any time to someone else, however if there was an accident and the person was unable to access Xero at the time to transfer access than Superannuation would be delayed causing potential legal issues for employers. I agree only one person should be able to access super at the one time but there should be a backup incase of emergency.

Crazy this is not an option

It is very frustrating only having one authorizer for Super Payment Approval. If you are overseas there is a significant delay in receipt and respond of requirement for code due to time differences. Other authorised payroll staff have to track down the one authoriser to finish the task. I don't understand why this is the case for super when they can approve and pay other payroll tasks. MYOB does not have this limitation so I am sure Xero can implement this into their workflow.

With all the compliances changes to superannuation payments and penalties associated, this is a critical requirement.

Anyone who creates a platform, who thinks only one person should be able to do any one task, has clearly not been in the real world of administration! Administration is usually a team effort of multiple people having the ability to do any task required within that team.
As we are probably all aware, super payments in the near future are moving towards having to be paid in line with the payrun it is associated with, which makes it even more critical to have more than one authoriser.
In the real world, people get sick, and there are lots of circumstances, including deaths, that happen without notice, and currently Xero does not support real life circumstances. -

This is a serious oversight. There should always be a redundancy plan for time critical payments.

I agree with the comments below. It is essential to have a second Super Authoriser, if one person is on leave or unavailable super still needs to be paid on time.

I agree that we definitely need more than 1 authoriser for Auto Super.
This is really hard when the Authoriser is on leave and we cannot pay the Super until they return. Would be great if this could be looked into sooner rather than later. Thanks. -

We had a situation recently - fortunately we pay our clients' super monthly rather than quarterly (smooths out cash flow), and it was a monthly batch not an EOQ batch! The authoriser for the super batch for one client was out sick, and since it's illegal to require people to work while they're on sick leave, this client's super couldn't be authorised until they were back in the office. So it was late (with regards to our agreement with that client; thank everything that it was the April and not the June super!) and we had no way of fixing that.

Can we allow at least 2 users to authorize Super Payments. Let say for example if the authorized user is on leave and the super is due, then the organization is on the verge of not making the super payment on time and would be liable for penalties. Hence, this is something to consider

We are obviously a small business, and it’s not always possible for only one of us to authorize super payments! I find this absurd that we can’t have more than one authority for super payments!!!

Please allow a second person to authorise super payments.

I would think this is a critical issue that needs to be available for all businesses.

Would be very useful to have two super authorisers.

I agree; this would be very useful, especially when a company has only two directors.

Having one person leaves our business vulnerable if something was to happen to the one authoriser or if that person goes on leave. Please give us the option to have a second super authoriser.

We use two laptops and can't seem to pay super from the second device.

The Director who authorises our payroll and super is not always available due to travel requirements. Would be great to have our backup Director added to the super to cover these instances.

This is essential. If I get hit by a bus, my clients' employees still need to be paid and their super obligations dealt with. And where the subscriber and the approver are the same person, this gives a single point of failure (and Xero won't be paying the Superannuation Guarantee Charge if the super is late due to having that single point of failure)
