Appreciate why you'd like to be able to attach a file to an existing transaction from the detail you've shared here, Hitesh.
This isn't possible from the Files inbox atm, however as you may already be across - from the flip side you can attach a file from the Files inbox from within the transaction.
Do get this means having to go to the transaction to perform what you're asking and we'll get a sense of the interest in being able to attach to an existing transaction from within the Files inbox, here.

Sorry to hear you're not liking the refresh of the Files inbox, Felicity. The intention is to make managing and working with your files simpler and more efficient.
Just to confirm, when you say this has added extra clicks for you - would that be the need to go to the Archived tab to access a fioder you've moved a file to?

Hi team, thank you for engaging with us on your needs around auto super. I want to confirm that our product team are aware of your interest in this here.
Right now, there are a few other items that need their immediate attention, so while there are no immediate plans for developing this, it's something they'll continue to review as resource becomes available. If there is any change to share around this we'll update you all through this idea.

I feel this is an important issue. Should something happen to the authoriser and they can not complete the approval (sever injury or death) how can the super be authorised? Just discovered a client has a deteriorating health issue and wanting to set up some back up options even though she is still very capable at present.

Surprised that this isn't an option - other accounting software I have used could be done without going direct to ATO portal. Please Xero make this available so our Xero records are correct

Hi everyone, thanks for sharing your thoughts on having a payroll report that calculates payroll state tax. We understand some of you are required to calculate tax across multiple states.
While we don't currently have a report which calculates earnings based on state, some of you have mentioned workarounds such as using the Payroll Activity Summary report. This report includes earnings totals and can be filtered by a date range and employee groups.
We recognise the value a report of this nature could have for our customers and it’s been added to the wider pool of ideas for our product team to consider for future development.
While it’s not on our immediate roadmap, we’ll be sure to keep you looped in if there’s any progress.

Any updates on this? New to me client has staff in several states and Payroll Tax in both states to be reported. I gather no reports to be run to make this simpler?
I agree with Donna Carter. Files previously was a great feature. I created folders in the inbox for statements, tax year work and other important information. Clients knew where to add things to assist in this process. Accountants could easier access what was required.
When and if necessary I could archive or delete.
Now you (Xero) believe you know better than us and our clients and have put all the folders in archive! We cannot create a folder in the Inbox! Why and who thought this was a good idea is beyond me.
PLEASE bring these features back.
And to have a HUGE no of files all archived after being added to a transaction, which is not searchable is ridiculous. Just why?????
Client File I am currently looking at has 100 items per page and 20 pages - a needle in a hay stack if we want to find it.
