AU Payroll - Unpaid leave report
When running employee leave transaction reports, it would be good for this report to also include employee unpaid leave, as presently this option is not available. The only way to run an unpaid leave report is to run a leave request report, export and edit as required. We have to submit reports to the ADMS for our apprentice claims, and a report including all leave is required.

This is a basic report option and unfortunately Xero doesn't have a solution which is really frustrating and kind of regret moving to Xero from MYOB. This is a critical when calculations Long Service Leave submission. Having to calculate LWOP manually is not ideal and waste of time and money. 😡😡😡

This report would also be required for working out any unpaid leave which could impact calculations in Long Service Leave service.

There is another work around you run the leave requests report (ensuring you select ALL leave types), and sort by leave type then you can export to excel spreadsheet and use. Crazy though but at least its something.
I find it annoying that LWOP etc doesnt appear on the payroll detail report as I send this to my clients for checking. It would be nice to also see the leave accrual as we add TIL but no way of double checking the entry unless you go into the payrun and scroll through each employee to check. (MYOBS payroll reports do). -

The functionality used to be there.
The suggested work around from xero support is to manually check the leave tabs 🤦♀️
We shouldn't have to lobby for a feature that has been switched off and is essential for calculating long service leave.

Yes I agree - we need to be able to run reports on all Leave without pay to assist with LSL calculations. The leave transaction report is the quickest and easiest way to assist with this information but at moment unable to run report. Shouldnt make any difference whether leave is payable or not as to whether you can run a report on it. XERO please get this functionality working ASAP.

Absolutely, I have found using an unpaid leave accrual the best way to keep track of days worked for Q Leave lodgments, I need to be able to run a report for this leave type
-

Not sure why we can just run unpaid leave report, all valid leave transaction types should be available to select for reporting - not just the paid leave types, truly don't understand the reason for removing the option

Considering that unpaid leave is a necessity for NSW Long Service Leave calculation, this should be more than a new idea.
Previously, LWOP used to be included in this report.
Bring it back please.
There are so many accountants that use your software, and it appears that you are more concerned with lovely Apps at the moment, rather than the necessities that are essential for us to do our job efficiently.
Please bring the report back! -

This is crazy that you can not get any report that includes pay items with units but no dollar value. Like others, why can't it be included, even if as other have said, why it cannot be made available via the Dropdown menu.

This report is needed as it is something more and more clients are requesting. We have set the Unpaid Leave as a Leave item and I cannot see why it cannot be made available via the Dropdown menu.

Bring back the option to filter the Leave Request report by Unpaid Leave types!

Really important feature to have report of unpaid leave. Integral to calculating long service leave.

What a joke, this is one of the most important things we need to run, and you just remove it!!
As others have said, we need to run an unpaid leave report for mandatory government reporting for long service leave and the like and yet you just decide to take it away. So incredibly frustrating.

Unpaid Leave should be selectable on the Leave Transactions Report and the Leave Requests Report. This is vital for accurately calculating our employee's long service leave entitlements and our operational requirements.
We were hoping the new reports would have rectified this long overdue and necessary reporting ability. -

Edit:
I have just discovered that if you run the Leave Requests report and select ALL leave types, the Other Unpaid Leave will show in the report.
It is not available to select as an option by itself though???Why is unpaid leave no longer available to select in the Leave Requests report?
Xero, please bring this option back ASAP!
We use this report when calculating our employee's long service leave entitlements.
As someone else mentioned, I hope this is only an oversight through the report updates... -

The most recent version of the Payroll - Leave Transactions Report (updated Mar 24) no longer shows unpaid leave as an option to report on. For various operational reasons already outlined in this thread, this should be reinstated. All valid leave transaction types should be available to select for reporting - not just the paid leave types. This hopefully is just an oversight as the update to the report has removed essential functionality that was already available. The current update is a step backwards rather than forwards.

Why was the option removed to show Leave Without Pay transactions - we need this for calculation of Long Service Leave etc
-
Timothy Percy commented
Agreed, this is part of our check of capturing all hours for our employees each fortnight and we can't currently see these unpaid leave hours anywhere in normal reporting. This could lead to us missing actual hours for an employee and just assuming its unpaid leave that we can't see.

Why is the unpaid leave not an option anymore in the Leave Transaction Reports. Has it been moved to somewhere else as I cannot find the option anywhere to download an unpaid leave or unpaid parental leave report. I desperately need this report every month to finalise Protect and long service leave calculations.
Please HELP ASAP!!! -

We need to be able to record leave without pay when calculating long service leave and also for tracking staff attendance. On page 2 of the attachment shows a payroll activity report from MYOB that records all pay categories including all types of leave, allowances, super, PAYG, entitlements which provides all information we need in one report
