  1. Automatically opens a new window when preparing Draft invoice from Projects Screen. This means the project screen stays open to do your next invoice rather than having to navigate back after you have approved your invoice.

    Hi team, just having a little play in Projects - while it won't work for Deposit or Project Amount creation, if you're creating an invoice from a Project for Tasks & Expenses you'll be able to hold down 'ctrl' while clicking on this option and should find this opens the Tasks and expenses screen in a separate browser tab. 

    Totally get this doesn't resolve the idea here, but wanted to share for those it helps 🙂

  2. At the moment the only option to allow us to offer Auto Pay via Stripe is to set recurring invoices to "approve for sending". Clients receive an email from Xero when their invoice is ready and an email with the payment confirmation linking to the paid invoice and their receipt. Clients on a subscription do not need to get the initial invoice and this confuses many of them. I would like the option to disable sending the invoice when Auto Pay is active, where the only email they receive is the payment confirmation.

    Appreciate it's a few steps to set up and add the columns, however once formatted as you like, if you save as Custom you can then set this as the default so it's a onetime effort. 


    Understand this may be more cumbersome if working with many organisations. Being open this isn't something we have plans for currently. We'll watch the interest in this, here.

  5. When selecting ACTIVITY under the Statements section, it would be helpful to filter receipts only. I can currently print a Statement of Activity using a custom advanced template I created, but I sometimes want to omit the invoices to show the client a list of receipts only in a nice report format. To recap, looking for a Statement of Activity, but only showing receipts for the period of time I select.

    Hi Kathi, having a bit of a play with reports this is possible through the use of the Customer Invoice Activity report

    You can add a Filter for Source to only select Receivable Payments - this would then show all payments your customers have made without detail of the individual invoices themselves - Have a try and let us know if this solves your needs here 😊

  6. Invoice templates should not be in the "settings" but in the actual part where the invoices are, this is product development 101 stuff guys seriously...

    Adding/altering/deleting invoice templates should be accessible right from within the sales overview and invoice section. I shouldn't have to google for this stuff, it's really quite terrible.

  7. As the title suggests. A "view all" option throughout the product would be great. Or even view a year. Far batter than having to click load more over and over again. Especially when if you click off of the page you then have to laboriously keep clicking load more again and again.

    Also to have dates next to (Or instead of) page numbers in the various scrolling pages; cash coding, reconcile, etc.

    Hi all, we appreciate the feedback on how we could improve pagination for customers across different areas of Xero. A couple of updates here that may help with this;

    • We have added the ability to search and filter no the Reconcile page. Meaning you can quickly navigate to a Date range of statement lines you'd like to reconcile
    • As we update areas of Xero you'll find the selection for how many items to view is now held (examples are in Products and services, Invoices and Bills). So, if you navigate away from a page when you return you should still see that same selection e.g 25, 50, 100 items. The only caveat to this is using incognito mode, or switching browsers

  8. Accounting > Advanced > Export Accounting Data > Xero General Ledger (.txt), to add the Contact name (customer/vendor/employee name) as a field. Currently, such information is not exported.

  9. The projects detailed report shows the estimated expenses on separate lines to the actual expenses incurred against that estimate. It is a manual process in excel to move the expenses around so that the report can reflect Total estimate less total spent and balance remaining. While this information is available on the projects page, it can't be pulled out as a report which is frustrating.

  10. Regarding the Income Statement:

    When the "Percentage of Income" & "Year to Date" options are selected, can we get the percentage of income column to calculate on the year to date column as well?

    This would allow for better variance analysis - comparing the current months percentages to the year to date percentages.

  15. Almost all the payment providers are now settling the amounts with the fees deducted from the captured/sale amount. This needs to be reconciled as two lines 1) Transfer to cash control account and 2) Bank fees.
    Currently there is no way to create a rule for this, hence it is a big overhead for the reconciliation, with almost a large chunk of card sale having to go through this process.

    Can the product team please take care of this on priority? thanks

  16. When a business has multiple branches or divisions, it would be great for the system to recognise who (from which division or branch) is entering the Bill or Invoice or Journal, and would automatically assign the correct cost centre to the transaction based on that (with the ability to override allowed or not in the user setup). It would also be good to be able to only allow reconciliation/viewing of that branch or division bank account instead of all bank accounts.

  17. Under the new STP Phase 2 screens there is no-longer options on the 'Tax' tab to select Working Holiday Maker, rather just 'Australian resident' and 'Foreign resident'.

    I understand on the 'Employment' tab you now need to make this selection, however, I've already had many users reach out confused thinking they need to select 'Foreign Resident' now.

    My suggestion is to do one of the following:

    1. Add Working Holiday Maker as an option and have it link back to the Employment tab if selected.

    2. Add a text note in the 'Tax' tab section explaining the requirement to return to the…

    Hi Kielan, thanks for the idea. While we appreciate your feedback for where to select Working holiday maker, we want to be upfront that we don't have direct plans for making these changes in the foreseeable future.


    As you’ve mentioned there is a placement to accomplish what you're asking here by selecting Working holiday maker in the employment tab under Income type.

    Hi all, while we removed the Pay with Wise, as a follow on from our last update we wanted to confirm that we have released UK bill payments in Xero.

    Customers in the UK can set up direct bank transfer as a payment method for GBP bills to quickly and securely pay bills. Funds are transferred from your bank account by Crezco using open banking. The availability of open banking in the UK has enabled us to offer this on-platform. 🙂- Read more on our Blog

  20. Prepayment automatically be created for the combined total of the "Income in Advance" lines.

    Purpose: To save users time from having to prepayment invoices manually by adding a payment to the invoice from Income in Advance
