When bringing a company on board, and you need past invoice history of the invoices outstanding, it would be far quicker to type them into the journal than to have to capture the document individually. it would be better to be able to do a journal for the AR and AP once you have captured the company. time does matter, and this method which is currently there is very time-consuming. Other accounting packages have this function and it would be nice to see it being done here for the Advisors.

    Appreciate ease when coming across from another software. Conversion balances and the way Xero works is quite critical to how outstanding invoices and bills are entered.

    Xero makes sure your accounts receivable and payable are in balance to the transactions that have been entered.

    While we will track the interest around this here I do want to be upfront that we don't have any plans to change the way in which these are entered.

  3. Bank Accounts Cash Coding problems:
    xero auto enters "unknown" if payee not used
    No Quantity column for shares or livestock transactions
    Posted entries disappear which does not allow easy scroll up and down scrutiny of work done
    account code does not show for coded entries
    bank account description/particulars does not show as per bank statement
    ie simply make the bank statements screen like Banklink so I can move my practice.

    Hi Brian, appreciate your feedback here. However, in order for others in community to understand the specific idea they're supporting and to also share back with the right teams here at Xero we ask to keep one idea per thread. 


    We have an idea started that you can support for livestock calculations 


    I've adjusted your idea here specifically for showing the account code in the cash coding screen, and you're welcome to support others cash coding ideas or start others for ideas that are represented.

  4. As the title suggests. A "view all" option throughout the product would be great. Or even view a year. Far batter than having to click load more over and over again. Especially when if you click off of the page you then have to laboriously keep clicking load more again and again.

    Also to have dates next to (Or instead of) page numbers in the various scrolling pages; cash coding, reconcile, etc.
    Having to select a page and another and another to try and guess where the date of the transaction is is ver laborious. Having the date range alongside…

  5. Accounting > Advanced > Export Accounting Data > Xero General Ledger (.txt), to add the Contact name (customer/vendor/employee name) as a field. Currently, such information is not exported.

  6. It would help if the NEW FOLDER button in the Files area was available at the top of the page. We have built up a number of folders over the years and having to scroll to the bottom of the page to add a new (current month) folder is a little niggly. If there was a button at the top (as well as the bottom?) that would be a small but helpful improvement! Thanks, love the software otherwise :-)

    Hi community, appreciate your interest and feedback on the idea here. I wanted to provide an update for you all here - while this isn't something we have plans to develop in the near term, in lieu of shifting the placement of this button you may find keyboard shortcuts useful to help you navigate. 

    On your computer you can press 'end' on your keyboard to help draw you straight to the bottom of a page and avoid having to scroll (if you're using a Mac you'll want to press Command + the right arrow) 😊

    Do get this isn't directly what you're asking here and we'll leave the idea open, however hopefully this helps speed things up for now. 

  7. It would be great if you could add a "New Item" when you first create a transaction. At the moment, you have to save and close the transaction, go back to it and "edit" then you can see +New Item at the top of the Item column. It would be a great improvement to workflow if you could do this straight away and if anyone like me has new items each week it would save some time. Thanks.

    Hi team, pleased to share our team have been doing a bit of work in the Quotes space and we'll soon be releasing a change that enables the ability to create an inventory item directly from within a Quote. For now I'll shift to working on it and we expect to return very soon to share once this is live to you to use!

  8. Automatically opens a new window when preparing Draft invoice from Projects Screen. This means the project screen stays open to do your next invoice rather than having to navigate back after you have approved your invoice.

    Hi team, just having a little play in Projects - while it won't work for Deposit or Project Amount creation, if you're creating an invoice from a Project for Tasks & Expenses you'll be able to hold down 'ctrl' while clicking on this option and should find this opens the Tasks and expenses screen in a separate browser tab. 

    Totally get this doesn't resolve the idea here, but wanted to share for those it helps 🙂

  9. When creating purchase orders, having a large list of products, we are finding it difficult to identify the items we want to select because only the item codes show without the item descriptions. (Both the item code and descriptions show when creating invoices and quotes). Would it be possible for the drop-down selections in the purchase orders to show both the item codes and the descriptions?

  14. When you have a bulk bill payment as one line on the bank rec, it would be useful if within the ‘match’ tab you could easily bring up the bills with a specific planned to pay date. Rather than having to search for each bill/supplier from a separate list.

  16. Currently the PO numbering is editable by the user. Can we disable / lock the PO number field be editable by the user? As we have encountered a control issue that user edited the PO number and the PO number that have changed has gone missing from our PO list. Thus, we need this enhancement critically so that we can have a complete PO listiing.

  17. Employee Pay Template - order of "Earnings type"
    It would be great to have the ability to reorder an employee's earnings types so that the most frequently used show first on the list when processing a pay run. At the moment, with the exception of Salary & Wages that defaults to the very top, all other "Earnings types" are listed alphabetically and there is no ability to change this order (drag & drop).

  18. Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease can we edit this list.?!

    Would save me typing everything on the tiny phone keyboard for every receipt. And correcting the errors that come with it.

    Surely this would be an easy win as the words don't have to be associated with any particular account, etc? (Although that would be an amazing addition, eg I select "Fuel" from the drop down list and it automatically fills in the account I've specified for it, eg "076 - Van Fuel"

  19. There is not possibility to use prepaid cards (e.g. SOLDO) when paying for subscriptions in GLOBAL regions. It was possible in the past. Please allow this feature again, as we see no reason for omitting this payment option.

  20. Almost all the payment providers are now settling the amounts with the fees deducted from the captured/sale amount. This needs to be reconciled as two lines 1) Transfer to cash control account and 2) Bank fees.
    Currently there is no way to create a rule for this, hence it is a big overhead for the reconciliation, with almost a large chunk of card sale having to go through this process.

    Can the product team please take care of this on priority? thanks
