  1. Almost every quote/invoice I make ends up having the last little bit of the quote/invoice on the second page, with a huge amount of wasted space on the first page, which looks unprofessional. Having the option within standard invoices to remove the spacing would be amazing. I know you can get around this by using the 'Advanced invoice' option, but that requires a lot more manual work, so it's inconvenient.

  2. Repeating Invoice: Sales Overview Screen - add a Last Updated Date to the Overview Screen

    Purpose: We use repeating invoices for the Auto Pay feature but most invoices need some form of adjustment before being sent each month. With a list of repeating invoices that goes on for pages it would be great to see the last date/time each invoice had been updated so that if you are interrupted during the monthly updating you can tell where you are up to when you come back to the Sales Overview screen, rather than needing to keep track of this somewhere else.

  3. Hi,

    I would like if Xero can provide an invoice user view only to look at the overdue invoices.

    This idea came up because we have a requirement to give this access to the person we hired for invoice chasing.

    We do not need to let him see previous invoices or give him access to create new invoices.
    Just a view with pending invoices payments for sent invoices

  4. Include the ability to set multiple pay cycles for the same employee. For example, wages are paid fortnightly but commissions are paid monthly. The dates are not aligned with the period if we use only one pay cycle.

    Hi Hermione, 2 distinct ideas in the one here - I've adjusted the title of your idea to reflect your first and welcome you to start another for each other idea you have. 

    Currently there is the option to apply discounts at a customer or inventory item level. Once set this discount will be applied each time they're used in your sales invoices - This might help streamline your discounts when working in Xero. 

    Keeping each thread to one idea means others in community clearly understand what they're supporting as well as when sharing the support back with our teams here at Xero.

  7. In Barbados, we must annually provide a Goods and Services report to the Barbados Revenue Authority. This is similar to the US 1099 vendor reporting requirements. How can we achieve this using Xero? It is a requirement for all of my clients but more importantly. In Canada this a T4A Statement of Pension, Retirement, Annuity, and Other Income.

    The easy solution is adding the Tax ID as a field in the Payable Invoice Detail & Summary reports. Once you summarize by contact to produces the required information, regardless of tax jurisdiction.

  8. Although a prepayment in a receive money transaction is given an invoice number this is a reference, NOT an actual invoice.

    A prepayment will show as outstanding until it is allocated to an invoice or refunded. This means that you have to go the "create invoice" route.

    It would save time to be able to create an invoice for a receive money transaction that will then be automatically reconciled to the money received and reflect on the customer statement. This is especially useful for incidental monies received eg concert tickets, fun day tickets etc

  9. Payroll functionality around multi day leave requests.

    A number of employees work 4 days , and xero divides the days into 5.
    The problem is when a leave request for lets say a day and half sick leave - they cannot manually enter 12 hours (8 +4) or 10.5 (7 + 3.5) unless they do Seperate Leave requests per day.
    I have a collegue doing 2 weeks of working 6 hours and taking 2 hours each day on annual leave. I ended up having to make his leave request because I am admin.

With employees on a salary contract for say 80K that compensate for extra hours each week (up to 57hrs) there is an issue with the current xero pay templates adding pay for every hour above 40hrs, as leave is calculated on number of hours worked. With these types of salaries it would be good to adjust the hours worked on each weekly payrun without it changing the payment amount but still changing the leave as per the award requirements. Currently the only way to handle this is creating a new payroll line item of "additional hours only contributing to leave"…

  11. At the moment the only option to allow us to offer Auto Pay via Stripe is to set recurring invoices to "approve for sending". Clients receive an email from Xero when their invoice is ready and an email with the payment confirmation linking to the paid invoice and their receipt. Clients on a subscription do not need to get the initial invoice and this confuses many of them. I would like the option to disable sending the invoice when Auto Pay is active, where the only email they receive is the payment confirmation.

  12. When entering a new batch deposit in the sales ledger you are asked to enter a date, reference and a bank account on the header. Each line that is in the batch is displayed below again with a reference, however this reference seems to default to some entry from years past. I change the reference per line by copying and pasting the reference in the header onto each line. Time consuming when up to 20 lines.   13. It would be nice to have a simple option to show any report that is run by month. So for example if you run a P&L report for 1st of Jan to 30 June at the moment you get a total for the period by default. Once the time frame is selected an option to then see the time frame by month would be helpful

    Appreciate your feedback on how we could improve report filters for you here. While maybe not the flow you're searching for here this is possible with the use of 'Compare with' periods - So, instead of running the report for the whole period, select the latest month, then you can select the number of compare with periods as you'd like to see. 


  14. Kia Ora Xero,

    In this 2022 Q4 update, it was nice to see the ability to show in chart the income and expenses by contact. It will be useful if Xero can have a chart for P&L. Users would like to see the distribution of income and/or expenses in chart format with the flexibility to show it by Categories or Groups.

    Better if this can be inserted in the Monthly or Annual report under Notes or within the Analysis of revenue and/or expenses.

  15. It would be very useful to have a report that shows at a glance when each employee last had a pay rise. Like an extra column in the Employee Remuneration Report. Or an audit report that shows the history of pay changes for all employees in one place.

    Appreciate it's a few steps to set up and add the columns, however once formatted as you like, if you save as Custom you can then set this as the default so it's a onetime effort. 


    Understand this may be more cumbersome if working with many organisations. Being open this isn't something we have plans for currently. We'll watch the interest in this, here. 

  17. Having the option to show client or supplier on invoices.

    Purpose: Eliminates the need to go to contacts tab each time to look up the phone number to contact the person while going over the invoices. Also for the delivery person to be able to reach the receiver at point of destination or to make an arrangement for receiving as well.

  20. I would love to see superannuation opening balances split into two sections. One flows through to the superannuation payment section to be paid, and the other just remains on the balance sheet. As an example, we have a new client who has not paid any superannuation YTD, we have already prepared superannuation shortfall forms for 2 quarters, and the balance is to be paid this quarter.
