Xero Central support - Bulk upload attachments to Cases
It's annoying having to upload a single screenshot at at time when trying to trouble shoot. Just let us bulk upload
1 voteHey Alex, thanks for your feedback! Our product team have recently released a new user interface for raising cases with our support team, which includes the ability to bulk upload attachments 🎉

Unpaid leave
Currently there is no option for unpaid sick leave for an employee. It is important to record unpaid leave taken accurately and also display this on the payslip.
When adjusting the hours paid or work to ensure an employee does not go into a negative sick leave balance, it does not show as unpaid leave on the payslip or reporting.
A negative sick leave balance should not be automatic, it should be a prompt and choice as to whether the business wants to risk paying sick leave in advance of entitlement.
Leave without pay and Unpaid sick leave should always…1 voteHey team, thanks for suggesting this one!
Xero comes with some default leave types already created, however if these don't suit your business' needs, you can follow the steps in our 'Add additional leave types and assign them to your employees' article to create some new ones.
You'll have the option to create paid or unpaid leave types, these can then be assigned to employee's with a relevant accrual type.

account transaction
Account Transactions:
Could we have the option to choose a 'group button' to choose all Expenses, or all Revenue/Equity etc? ... as well as the current one-by-one method of selecting account codes in the Account Transactions report. If there was an 'All Expense Accounts' or 'All Revenue Accounts', the user could first choose the group, and then adjust the selection by removing any account codes not needed in that report.
This would save a lot of time when dealing with entities that have a large Chart of Accounts, when selecting each account code individually can take a while.
Thank you.
2 votesHey Frances, thanks for suggesting this idea!
We've rolled out some changes to the Account Transactions report, including the ability to group or filter by account type.
This lets you show or hide Asset, Liability, Expense, Revenue or Equity accounts as needed 😊

MFA and Yodlee Feeds
The issue with MFA in some banks blocking yodlee's transaction feed negates the benefit of it in the first place. You want a secure way to receive the transaction data without having someone with signing privileges (a senior exec) log in each time a bookkeeper is trying to do their work. If Xero built an easy API or a other solution that we could send to our banks and put pressure on them to build into their system I'm sure you would get a ton of buy in from the accounting community. QBO feeds have gone directly to banks with…
1 voteHey Win, thanks for sharing your idea!
Xero already offers an API for banking institutions to create direct feeds in to Xero, and you can read a little more about it in our blog post Xero opens banks feeds, paving the way for faster platform growth.
For a tech-y overview, you can share this Xero Bank Feeds API overview page with your financial institute.

Aged payable reports - Set default for updated settings
Xero aged payables- the old reports were much clearer and useful.
We would like to be able to set the report so we can have the dates along the top and invoice date rather than having to go in every time and have to manually change it. It has become quite laborious.1 voteHi BNNL, once you've set up the report with the settings as you like you can save as custom to access with this same layout anytime. You can go a step further to make this the default if it's the layout you'd like everyone in the org to use too.

Bills List view - Highlight when line selected
The new Bill view has lost the ability to highlight a certain bill when you tick the box next to it. In the old version if you ticked the box that bill would remain highlighted in grey so it was easy visually to know which bill you're currently working on. This has stopped since the new Bills view has come in. Any chance to can add it back? In the attached screen shot you can see a bill has been ticked but it remains white like all the others in the list.
36 votesNice update before the weekend, team. Highlighting in the bills list view is now available 😊
When you next select bills these'll be highlighted on the screen.

search option invoice page
Invoicing:
In the new version of invoicing the search option (magnifying glass) has disappeared from the top right of the screen. I like using this option of invoicing because of the auto save.
It is still there in the classic invoicing.
Many times I will go from a invoice to a different contact or search for a particular invoice/quote/bill, etc.
Not having the search option means I have to go back to the drop down menus and do a search from there. It would be great if it was brought back on this page.
I have attached screen shots of…
2 votesThanks for your feedback, Natalie. In the last few days we have been able to make improvements for Search in Xero and you'll now find the magnifying glass icon is available from every screen in your organisation, including new invoicing! 😁

Xero App - Receive money via app
The Xero mobile app currently only allows invoice creation. This creates a two step process to separately record the payment against the invoice. Having the ability to Receive Money via the mobile app without having to use to desktop interface would be a much simpler, efficient and time saving approach for business owners.
2 votesHi Gene, it sounds like you're wanting to add a payment to an invoice, from the mobile app. It is currently possible to do this! Just open the invoice you want to receive a payment on and select the add payment option. You'll be taken to another screen to add the necessary details. Our article Record a payment on a customer invoice has more info for you.
In case you were wanting to add a spend or receive money cash transaction in the mobile app, you can do this from the Bank reconciliation screen. From the bank statement line you want to create a bank transaction (spend or receive money) for, select Create. Then you'll be asked to populate the details. I've attached some screenshots showing you how and this article steps it out in more detail.

Analytics Plus - Fortnightly expense predictions in short-term cashflow
The short-term cash flow projection should allow 2 weekly/fortnightly expense predictions (instead of just weekly and monthly predictions). The current absence of this feature currently results in incorrect cashflow forecasts (e.g. we pay wages every two weeks, so the timing of our wages prediction is always incorrect).
2 votesThanks for your feedback, it's good to hear how you're using short term cashflows.
Predictions within Short-term cash flows should be generated for recurring amounts based on the last 3 months.
Our tool looks for weekly, fortnightly and monthly payments - the dates, amounts and contact have to be fairly consistent each time for a prediction to be generated.
If you do find you're not seeing predictions you'd expect to appear for fortnightly payments do raise a case with our team of specialists so we can take a deeper dive into why this may not be showing in Short-term cash flows. Thanks

Aged payables summary invoice date
Aged Payables Summary - Invoices already paid showing + Print size
The old version report is far much easier and correct than this new one.
Old version would automatically show you invoices due for payment minus those already paid. This new version of the summary shows all invoices regardless if they have already been paid.
The print is also smaller, need a magnifying glass to see.
I've tried running the report in the aged payable details, time consuming entering all filters and hiding columns to basically print the summary that the old version automatically gives you.
Not sure why this…
6 votesHi team, a coupe of steps to set up and you'll be able to get what you're asking here - Run the Aged Payables Detail report, selecting the Date range for 'Ageing periods' and 'Invoice date' for 'Ageing by' before Updating the report.
Once it's set if you save as custom you'll find you can get to this view quite easily when you need, and if it's a view you'll run often save it as a favourite to make it easily selectable from the Accounting drop down menu.

Timesheets: Make tracking categories optional
Xero Me tracking feature in app.
Please make it optional to complete the tracking function to submit a timesheet. Not all business have employees that use tracking categories. This means many employees are unable to submit a timesheet . Making timesheet tracking optional allows all to use the app1 voteHey Tim, Totally understand that not all business will use tracking categories for their employees. You can turn off timesheet tracking for an organisation by setting timesheet categories to 'None' in your Payroll Settings. Employees will then no longer be asked to select a category when submitting timesheets.

Accounts transactions report - Set default for archived accounts
The show archived accounts checkbox is unchecjed in the accounts transaction report as default, or able to be unchecked. Currently it is ticked and needs to be unchecked every time you go into the report.
3 votesHi Vanessa, next time you open the report and uncheck this option you can save the report as Custom, then choose to make this the default. That way the box will remain unchecked each time you go to it in the future 🙂

User roles - Hide supplier balances from users with 'Invoice Only User Sales (Quoting & Invoicing)' permissions
With in the Invoice Only User - Sales (Quoting & Invoicing) the user can still view all of your suppliers and the amounts you owe them via the contacts tab. If you want to give someone access to raise and sent sales invoices then they shouldn't be able to see all of your suppliers and especially shouldn't be able to see what you owe each of them!
1 voteHi team, we've made the change and this is now live. Now, what's visible for a user with an Invoice Only role will be dependent on their level of access. Invoice Only Draft will no longer see the I Owe and They Owe columns, Invoice Only (Sales) will only see They Owe, and Invoice Only (Purchases) will only see You Owe. This change applies to sorting on the page as well.

Reconciliation Report Pack - Automate process similar to older version
The Reconciliation Report pack is a critical part of our working papers and gives us multiple reports in one pack with one click. This report is being retired in July with no replacement in sight. Creating our own seems like a step backwards and from what I understand about creating report packs (which admittedly is not great), it will be difficult to add multiple bank account rec reports to a customised pack, not to mention that each business has a different number of bank accounts. This move makes no sense. Please do not remove the old one until we have…
8 votesJust following up from our last update - this is now live!
As you might've seen on this similar idea, we've rolled out a new Bank Reconciliation report pack. As part of this release, the Reconciliation Report will automatically add a Bank Reconciliation Summary for each bank account, fulfilling this request 🎉
Thanks again for sharing all your feedback on this one, community 😊

XeroMe
I have had to re-run a payroll before when an employee's pay has been incorrectly calculated. When you re-run the payroll, XeroMe did not update with the new payslip information. Surely this should happen automatically.
1 voteHey Elre, thanks for sharing this idea!
Xero Me should actually already behave as you've described - any changes to a posted pay run will generate a new payslip for each employee.
I'd recommend raising this one with our support team, as they'll be able to assist with troubleshooting. We'll close this idea off as delivered in the meantime.

Enable DKIM to reduce sent emails from being flagged as Spam or put in Quarantine
We are seeing more emails that are sent from within Xero being flagged as Spam or put in Quarantine, especially if the recipient is using Outlook 365.
Xero need to implement DKIM to reduce the number of false positives like this. It's very easy to implement and the benefits to Xero users would be enormous.
71 votesThanks all for you feedback on comments on this thread. We want to confirm that that DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) is currently active for all Xero sending mail addresses used by the Xero platform and are regularly reviewed and updated. Since Xero handles the sending of emails from our platform there is nothing to be done from your side and can be assured that their is no risk to deliverability of emails as a result of the changes. Since there is no visibility of this change in the Xero UI we suggest those who still want further confirmation to review the Global DNS Propagation Checker which confirms that DKIM is enabled for all our regions. The best option if you're still finding mail sent from Xero isn't getting to a recipient or is landing in their spam or junk folders is to ask the customer to whitelist @xero.com and @post.xero.com…
