  1. ABN number needs to be included on this report as this is presently excluded
    company name / address/ banking details / legal name etc are all included.

    I've just confirmed for myself that this feature is already available in Xero.


    When your contacts are exported, the ABN will appear in column AF 'TaxNumber' and the ACN will appear in column AL 'CompanyNumber'


    If you're still having trouble with the export, I'd recommend reaching out to our support team for a chat!

  2. I'd like to know when a specific bank account balance gets below a certain amount, it would be great to set an alert or get a notification.

    Hi Nicola, appreciate the idea however do want to be open that we don't have plans for implementing this type of feature directly in Xero. Feed imports can differ from bank to bank so the timeliness of this information would be likely be little use to many businesses especially in the case of manual imports. 

    There are some banks that offer alert or notifications for what you're asking here, I'd recommend enquiring with your bank directly. Thanks 

  3. Provide option to select a specific start date (within, say, the past 24 months) for bank feeds when submitting the online request through Xero. For example, from previous 1 April rather than from the next day after the bank has processed the request. This would relieve the need to request clients to provide a csv from their online banking for past transactions to complete the year’s records. Some clients are not computer confident for even this requirement when setting up their Xero account.

  4. I cannot be the only Global Platform user that has now been waiting for basic payroll feature improvements in the Global version for over 4 years now.

    Critical features that are not available include:
    - Ability to add logo and YTD balances on pay slips
    - Template payroll emails when sending pay slips (have to type it every time now)
    - Timesheet option that syncs / built into payroll. Or at minimum an import option.
    - Holiday / sick pay / leave tracking
    - Basic employee portal for them to view pay slips and leave balances, and basic core info…

    Hi everyone, thanks for the idea and support here. We appreciate all the valuable feedback and ideas shared regarding Global Pay Run.

    To be open and upfront we don't have direct plans for making changes within the Pay Run feature in the foreseeable future.

    You may like to look into connected apps for a payroll solution that could suit your business.

    We'll be sure to let you know if there's any change around this.

  5. Description against each transaction on the bank item should come through as "PAYEE" and not "Description". Bank Feed coming as "description" makes it difficult for bank rules as you cannot see the full description against each transaction when reconciled and this is sometimes stressful as you have to refer to bank statement all the time for full description.

    Why when bank statements are imported, the description against the transaction is put through "PAYEE" and bank rules are much easier to make and the full description comes through.

    Hi Mayuri, the way data is imported into your bank account in Xero is through information provided and mapped by the bank. This isn't something we're able to control on an individual basis. 

    The only way to control how data is mapped into the fields in Xero would be to stop the bank feed and manually import statements to your org via CSV where you can map columns of your statement file to fields in Xero, however appreciate the efficiency you likely find from have statements automatically import to Xero. 

  6. The new cash summary report is not as user friendly as the old version.
    The most common cash summary format used is a full year or YTD monthly report. In the old version it had the months listed so easy to go back to the end of month of last years financial year whereas now all the current options only refer to the last month or are a full year. When comparing with periods 11 months was the most common option used as wanted to compare a full year but now this has to be entered manually. If you want…

    Appreciate the new version of report may take a few steps to set up and it can take some getting used to the changes from old to new, Alicia. Being open we don't plan to complete copy the older version. 

    Having a bit of a test, if you regularly compare the past 11 months you can set this in the Compare with  period = 11 and Months. Once run you can then use the Layout editor to move the columns oldest to newest. 

    If you then Save as custom you'll find that you can jump back into this formatting any time and update the Date range of the report which will hold the Compare with settings you've set up in the report. 

  7. Would love to be able to change the dates on bank statements that are brought in via Bank Feeds as the import from Investec uses the Transaction Date instead of Action Date, which messes with the Bank Reconciliation reports, as they don't match the bank statement opening and closing balances

    Thanks for the added feedback, James - Connecting with our Xero tax UK team on this I want to be upfront that there's no plans to develop for your idea here.

    To explain the rationale here - As you'll understand, tax codes are used with the aim that people pay the correct tax on their employment income and do not underpay or overpay, so that a tax return or repayment claim forms do not need to be completed.

    Tax codes are only used against PAYE sources. The actual personal allowance is to be used in the self assessment calculations.

    • Personal allowance is reduced in the calculation if someone earns above £100k or they transfer their marriage allowance.
    • If a person receives the marriage allowance, then this is provided as a tax reducer at the bottom of the calculation as per legislation.

  9. Could we please have an option to add a second emergency contact for our employees.

    Currently when creating a new employee we only have one space for an emergency contact. However, in the case of an actual emergency only one contact may not be enough, a second contact gives a much higher chance of being able to get in contact with someone.

    We appreciate being able to easily add a secondary emergency contact to the details tab of the employee record is important to you. 

    Atm, you could use the notes tab to add a new note to the employee record and include the details in here.

    To be open we don't have direct plans for making this change within the details tab any time in the near future.

    Appreciate your feedback, Sarah. Being honest we did receive a lot of feedback around these default. 

    Our team made a recent change to have this ticked by default based on feedback and from monitoring usage of the feature and we don't have intentions of changing this back anytime soon and I'll shift the idea to not planned. 


    While we'll close this idea, we'll continue to track if there is significant response to the importance of this from our community. Thanks

  11. Quotes - Please give us drop down menu to add more than one line at a time. My Quotes are over several pages to a big customer. Adding one line at a time is not efficient.

    Previously when an Item from the Products & Services is picked and when highlighted, and you push "Tab" it picks it and enters it. Now that function doesn't work instead, you have to click with the mouse. Not having shortcuts is time consuming. The previous way was better and more efficient.

    Hi Shirani and Tarryn, rounding back to the idea here we appreciate the earlier feedback on the change in navigation with tab and selection of items. 

    Based on some of the feedback we received from our customers we have restored the original behaviour so that when you can use the arrow keys within a cell to highlight the item and then Tab to auto select (rather than having to press Enter). 

    Also appreciate your thoughts on the ideal # of lines in a quote. However, monitoring usage of quotes we don't have plans for developing an option to add lots of lines at once. 

  12. By removing locked accounts gives greater flexibility when journalising - ie any posting to any posting. There can never be any differences re "control" accounts as the ledger is merely the sum of its parts. Presumably currently the software structure is set to require locked accounts -may be too big an ask but believe no locked accounts are more modern and the only route to go

    Hi Nic, appreciate why you'd like the ability to freely post to any account, however locked and system accounts in Xero are set up for specific reason and are needed in order to calculate and report - You can read more of the reason for these here in Xero central

    If there's something specific you're needing help with around this our team of specialists at Support may be able to help explain how to go about this with Xero.

More flexibility of packages available for small business allowing them to do add-ons on their packages like for example subscribing to the Cashbook or Starter package and then "buying" an add-on for extra invoices. Some small business don't need all the extras of the standard/premier package, but need some extra functions on the Cashbook or Starter packages. Maybe if there is a bit flexibility in the composition of the Cashbook or Starter packages where the client can choose (limited) what he want in his package.     I'm sorry to hear some of your clients find the limits of our starter or cash book plans insufficient for their business.

    We provide specific bundles that meet the transaction and feature requirements of the majority of organisations.

    Like most businesses, we regularly review our pricing and the value we deliver to our customers, however we do want to be upfront that we don't have plans for enabling customised subscription plans as you're suggesting here atm. 

  14. The ability to have more than 1 accounts receivable and accounts payable account. This would provide a separate account for non-trade invoices and bills, also intercompany invoices and bills that are sent to another region or subsidiary for reimbursement. This would make tracking intercompany and eliminations cleaner and easier to track.

    Hi👋 while we offer connections for a few payment service providers, we don't have intentions of developing integrations with many ourselves. 

    There is an option through the use of a custom URL, which'd pull through relevant data for online payments through that service - you'll need to approach Zelle to see if this is something they can provide. 

  16. All businesses have to file tax returns. Some prepare it themselves using other Xero product such as TaxCycle. To prepare tax returns it is important to start with CRA's GIFI values which maps the Chart of Accounts in Xero to the tax codes required by CRA.

    Xero currently provides GIFI feature to partners but not business owners. This should be standard on all Xero files and not just partners.     Hi Bill, and others interested - appreciate you raising the idea here. Though we understand some business owners may want to control this themselves to clarify the current process - Atm,  GIFI mapping is available for T2125 and T1776 forms that integrate with TaxCycle. With TaxCycle being a Partner specific product there are no plans to at this time to open this feature further.

    Hi all, while we removed the Pay with Wise, as a follow on from our last update we wanted to confirm that we have released UK bill payments in Xero.

    Customers in the UK can set up direct bank transfer as a payment method for GBP bills to quickly and securely pay bills. Funds are transferred from your bank account by Crezco using open banking. The availability of open banking in the UK has enabled us to offer this on-platform. 🙂- Read more on our Blog

  20. Can you please add the ability to resize and delete online columns we see. Xero keep changing the columns in various screens (the latest is in Bank Statement lines).i now have columns so small they take multiple lines (ONE IS THE DATE!), in order to add columns with nothing in them/data I don't want to see.

    Hi team, really appreciative of the feedback. You'll find with our technology upgrades we're building more consistency throughout the product. 


    While not the ability to switch order, new invoicing does allow for you to hide/select specific detail of your invoice from showing, and you'll find many reports have great flexibility on what data and how this is shown. 


    That being said we don't have intentions of developing capability to fully customise the columns of list views across Xero any time in the near future. I'll close this request so it's clear for anyone else viewing.
