Reporting: Aged Reports - Run in different currency
Ability to run different currencies in Aged Payable report.
Purpose: Because some organisation make their sales in a different currency, so it’s beneficial for them to run these reports using different currencies.
Hi everyone, thanks for all the valuable feedback and ideas shared regarding aged reports in different currencies.
It seems that this idea picked up several different themes over time so we want to clarify where we’re at with this. In the past few months our product team has worked hard to improve the functionality in this area. That includes releases for totals when run in a single currency - so you can see a total of your foreign currency, and disclosures 🎉
We’ve introduced FX disclosures on the Aged Reports, which displays as a note at the bottom of your report or as an icon next to figures on the report to indicate that they include revalued foreign currency amounts to give you more flexibility. The disclosure will contain all the currency information that has been used to calculate the figures in your report. The exchange rate note will display by default, but we’ve heard from some customers that they want the ability to hide the disclosure. We’ve added this option under the More button. Hiding the disclosure this way will also remove it from all exported versions of the report. The disclosure can be re-added to the report later if desired.
While we haven't met the original request, we are confident that the new disclosures functionality will make it easier to understand foreign currency balances. Being transparent we have no plans to build the ability to run aged reports in a different currency. If you still find that you need the ability to run aged reports in a different currency, even using the improvements we’ve released, you’re welcome to create a new idea so we can gauge user need from this point on.

Aged Reports - Run in different currency. You just closed this and invited me to add a new idea if I still have an issue. I do. We buy overseas product. We pay in foreign currencies. Having an Aged Payable by Currency report will show me how much of each currency I need to buy and by when in order to meet my needs. That's the report those of us in that situation need.

Desperately need this. Too much time and potential for errors incurred doing it manually.
Please make this a priority.

Xero - when are you going to update this? You sell your platform as multiple currency and to bookkeepers / accountants but don't provide some basic accounting capability. Hurry Up!

Thanks for bringing this to our attention, I can assure you we are very aware of the need to run the aged payables and receivables in different currencies. -DR

I contacted Xero via Instagram message Their response still after 18 months:
“Hi, thanks for flagging this with us. Our Product team regularly reviews the suggestions and comments as we're always looking for ways to improve Xero, so we record and review all feedback and requests from our customers. However, as our Product team makes such a wide range of changes based on such a wide variety of factors, we can't always provide firm dates for which new services will be developed, or when. As you may already be aware, another way to get your voice heard is by adding your thoughts to our Xero Product Ideas. Please continue to share your thoughts around this, and I've also made another note of this to our Product team for their review. -HY”

With these new reports - does anyone else find that you need a crystal ball to know the 'start date' of your longest outstanding bill / invoice in order to configure the AP / AR report correctly? otherwise your data will be incorrect? Why dont these reports just run all open bills / invoices as of an end date only?

Anyone that is waiting on currency AP / AR reports - we have been as well for the 18 months since we changed from MYOB.
We prop up Xero with various apps in order to get decent reports. Its expensive and inconvenient.
Xero reports are becoming worse with each new development. -

Had I known this before we switched - I wouldn't have moved from Sage.
Unless this is remedied shortly we will move back.
This is critical -

An aged debtors report that can report in FX currencies and filtered by these currencies is critical. Your suggestions above are a weak work around - it does not indicate to overseas managers the age of the unpaid debt in their FX currency. Given that Xero is trying to spread its wings globally, this FX aged debtor report is fairly mandatory - without it we cannot give complete reports to our overseas managers.

Please be aware anyone who uses the Receivable or PayableInvoice Summary - Approved, sent and paid report. It also reports deleted, voided, etc, invoices. Which I didn't realise till I'd trawled through each individual transactions wondering why my totals didn't match...

The comment on this appears to suggest that this report is available in the currency that it is owed. Why is it not?
If we owe an amount in EUR we need to pay it in EUR!! having the value in GBP (or the default currency) is hopeless!! -

Would be great if a report was available for a supplier who is from Austria, the total gives out in sterling but be good if we could have a column showing value in euros so I can compare with our supplier and match reports. Found a report Aged payables detailed with total, current months and older months, reference number and date/due date but nothing for euro amount.

Is there any update on this ?
All Xero need to do is to add "Outstanding/unpaid in Source currency" option in Filters! Simple as that! -

Xero reasoning for retiring the old reports is that they can't keep supporting two sets of reports. I think it is not convincing reason. Just leave the old reports set as is until the new set of reports meets at least what the old reports did.

I'm still struggling to comprehend why this straightforward request remains unresolved. The new reports, in my view, serve no purpose. We require the previous report, where both the source and base currencies are clearly displayed. This is a fundamental requirement. It's important to listen to user feedback rather than imposing changes. We are paying for the service and are expressing our preferences. We kindly request the reinstatement of the old reports.

Yes, this is a very important feature to us. Even though our base currency is ZAR, we have suppliers who send their invoices in USD, and we pay them in USD.
It becomes a hassle when making payments because the amounts reported are converted to ZAR. It honestly defeats the purpose of the aged payables report when you cannot use it.

May i know how could the older version has this option and the new version doesn't? Did Xero decided to reduce the functionalities with the new interface?
Not having a summary with respective currencies is not user friendly at all.
Im sure there are any many companies using multiple currencies and facing the same issue. Are you going to include this function anytime soon? -

None of your suggestions provide the ability to show the TOTAL BALANCE in the source currency. It is disgusting that you feel it appropriate to remove functionality for paying customers.
